Lion King is still one of my favorite Disney films of all time. Ever since it came out, I was obsessed with The Lion King. Today, I feel even more connected to The Lion King now because Simba and I are in the same boat in losing a loved one. I lost my father to covid/pneumonia 4 years ago., So I know exactly what Simba was going through. So yeah, its still has a special place in my heart.

Those are exactly the same reasons why The Lion King is my favorite movie of all time. For me, not only did it inspire me to learn more about animals and African cultures (even inspiring me to pursue a career as an Exhibit Interpreter at Zoo Atlanta), but its story and music are still as powerful as they were in 1994 when I was 2 and first saw the movie. 🦁 👑 🐾

My brother was so fed up with me requesting this movie every night when I was a kid. We would watch it all the way through and then (because it was a VHS tape) we would watch it again backwards at 2x the speed. I still LOVE this movie.

I couldn’t agree more! It literally is perfect! The soundtrack and the voice actors, especially James Earl Jones! The plot is also phenomenal with its simplicity and emotional presence.

When my siblings and I were just toddlers and we'd play around (being loud) our uncle would put this movie in the VCR and we'd literally come RUNNING and we'd sit quietly with our legs crossed lol. And my BFF of 10+ yrs (14yrs to be exact) we share this movie as our favorite it's one of the biggest things we bonded over that made us become friends. And when my son wanted to go pet shopping for a lizard (bearded dragon) we found one who's name just so happened to be Simba and knowing that my son also loves Lion King we of course chose that lizard to bring home.

Yay!!! Another Lion King Fanatic like me!!! I also love absolutely everything Lion King!! and the OG Lion King holds a big place in my heart. I was born with rheumatoid arthritis, so I was always hurting so when I was little I couldn’t really go outside and play with my siblings, if I did I would end up hurting ( more then usual) so what I would do, I would ask my mom to watch my favorite movie, The Lion King! I watched it just about every single day, or whenever I was in pain and it made me feel just a little bit better. And I still do to this day, I watch the movie or listen to the soundtrack at least once a week or whenever I’m hurting or sick and it makes me so happy 😁

This film is so near and dear to me because not only do I love animals, this film is responsible for igniting the spark inside me for pursuing the path of an artist/animator and I am grateful for that reason. I can't explain why I love this movie, I just do. And now I empathize with Simba, having lost my dad 11 years ago.

The lion king is my all time favorite Disney movie of all time I never get tired of watching this movie. It's beautiful and exciting! The animation, the music, the characters, all the songs, it's all so amazing! Circle of life is my favorite song in the whole movie the whole opening sequence of this movie still gives me chills no matter how many times I watch this movie. The Lion King is my favorite Disney animated film too! From the moment I first saw it, ever been obsessed with it ever since! I watched it on DVD multiple times, saw The Lion King Broadway play twice, and also named a stuffed lion that I had gotten from a trip to the zoo, Simba. Like you, this masterpiece of an animated film will forever have a special place in my heart!

I also love the lion king, it’s definitely my favorite Disney movie and one of my all time favorite animated movies in general. No matter what I will always be coming back to this film as it has so much I love.

yes the lion king has been a favorite of mine from my childhood the song i can't wait to be king was my all time favorite growing up because it tells about the excitement that simba has and not only that but the jealousy that he has for his father going out to fight hyenas and that he couldn't go with him and watch from the sidelines but i do love the artwork on mufasa with his big muzzle of a nose and mufasa really has that kingly look with his big mane of his and the voice behind it was so perfect

This is my all time favourite film, for many of the reasons you mentioned. I had the soundtrack when I was little, it was a special edition where it had the first film and score, as well as Simba's Pride's soundtrack. I played the crap out of that CD! I remember re-enacting the Circle of Life with my stuffed animals, whilst it was playing. I also had multiple editions of the DVD growing up and bawled seeing the West End production in London.

On Ms Mojo, they said The Lion King is a version of Hamlet. A William Shakespeare story.

I feel so heard and validated. Because so many people here where I live used to make fun of me for my obsession to this movie. To the point some people thought I was homosexual, which was and is far from the truth. Many of the same reasons to what you said Brian I 100% agree. The only difference was I did love can you feel the love tonight. Maybe if anything because I so desperately wanted love myself. But the movie will always has and always will be my favorite as well. 😊

I've almost memorized a word for word too. My favorite thing to quote is when they find Simba in the desert. I quote them in my sleep.

Yeah, when Timon and Pumbaa find Simba in the desert, it's my favorite scene too I think, it was the first scene I saw from the movie when I met it casually on TV and from there I got hooked on wanting to find the movie. Also it's weirdly incredible to be able to quote word for word even in sleep :)

The Lion King is my favorite movie too, and many of the things you brought up in this video are reasons for why I love it so much also. The characters are so iconic and memorable, the story is very engaging and powerful, the music and songs are grand earworms, and the animation is some of the best hand drawn animation ever seen in an animated film. This movie had a huge impact on me that I think also shaped my love for African animals (or just animals in general), and what's also cool is that this movie came out the same year I was born, 1994. Of course, there are some things about this movie that I don't like, like how the hyenas as a whole are depicted as evil, and how Nala could've had more screentime to make her a far stronger character, but those issues are minor, and the movies pros more than make up for whatever shortcomings this movie has (besides, no movie, even the most grand and influential, is perfect to begin with). I also love how Timon and Pumbaa, despite being the comedic sidekicks, also have a lot of heart with how they feel sorry for Simba and take him under their wing, share their home and food with him, and go back to Pride Rock with him to help fight off Scar, while also showing off how awesome of a fighting duo they are. That, in my opinion, is the epitome of how to make a great Disney sidekick (or two sidekicks in this case). I also really like how Disney was willing to take some bold steps in telling the story and push the boundaries of family friendly entertainment, with the wildebeest stampede and death of Mufasa being the biggest example. Those scenes are so intense and dark, not to mention really sad, that they leave such an emotional impact on anyone who's seen this film. There are many other reasons why I love this movie, but I don't want to make this comment too long. If you want, you could always make a part 2 about why The Lion King is your favorite, and talk about some other reasons as to why you love this movie. I know I will certainly give it a watch and see what else you have to say about the film.

I also absolutely adore The Lion King! It's one of my top 5 favorite movies, and I'd also rank it as my 2nd favorite animated movie (The only one that beats it for me is Up).

This was and is my Dad’s favorite Disney movie. I have to say, I grew up with this movie, and I love it too. I also love lions, lions are my favorite animals. I also love the straight to DVD sequels, Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride and The Lion King: 1/12 (one and a half). I also love the 2019 remake, I cannot wait to see Mufasa.

Did you know in lion king at the end of the movie they show their son first which is kion cuz he is the color of Simba and then at the beginning of the second one they show kiara cuz the lion cub is the color of Nala. They had three kids kion, kopa, and Kiara so I think they should make another lion king or kings showing kion and kopa and what happened to them.

The Lion King was the very first film I've ever watched in my youth. Truth be told I don't really remember it, but my parents told me when I was a baby I was having a blast while the movie was playing on our VHS. Of course I've watched the movie so many times for 25 years growing up. But now that I'm learning about film narrative I finally understand why I love this animated film so much and why it's my favorite animated film of all time.

This is my favorite movie of all time bro I can watch this movie over and over, and I won't get bored everything about this movie is just incredible I highly recommend this movie to anyone that has not seen it and when they do see it they will love it as much as I do.

I can totally relate to Brian’s thoughts about this movie. It is my absolute favorite movie of all time because it is one of my few movies and universe I got to watch over and over again while most others I only watch once or twice at most.

The Lion King is a great movie by no doubt. In fact, my wife is a huge fan of the sequel; she absolutely loves the romantic story. But, to be honest, I've always been more of a Nickelodeon kind of guy, particularly where SpongeBob SquarePants is concerned. And the 2004 film is my favorite non-Christian film ever. I'd be happy to explain why to anyone who's interested.

Great Video Brian! While I do think The Lion King is a beautiful movie, the animation, the songs, the score, and the characters are strong, and it’s in my top 10 Disney movies. But there are other Disney animated movies I prefer more. I’m not trying to be disrespectful to Brian and other people who love this movie because they can, but it’s a Disney movie I would say I respect more than I want to watch it. Please allow me to explain. The reason I say this is because I do feel some scenes are a little rush, and need time to process more. While I don’t agree with Brian saying that Simba and Nala don’t need to be a coulple but I’m glad they did because it adds a different heart to the story, but what ruins it is the argument they had and I wish once they returned to the pride lands they apologized to each other and say I love you. Nala is honestly my favorite character in the movie and the most underrated and wish she had more screen time in the original animated movie. (Also Brian I’m disappointed that you didn’t mention Nala when talking about the characters). I do agree they should have put Shadowland in the remake, that song would have been perfect for Beyonce’s voice. With the other characters, I would have liked to have more chemistry between Simba and his relationships with both Nala, Scar, and Mufasa’, and dig more into the trauma he felt. With Timon and Pumbaa, while I do think they’re good sidekicks and they can be really funny, there are some parts in the movie where they can get a little annoying and overstay their welcome in certain scenes. I also feel like sometimes the comedy is all over the place and it has too much modern-day talk. But all that’s just my opinion. And honestly depending on my mood when compared to other Disney movies I just feel sad and angry when I watch The Lion King, and I don’t feel satisfied I always feel like the original animated movie could have been 2 hours long because when I watch it I’m always missing something. Overall I do think The Lion King is an amazing movie I just don’t think it’s perfect, in fact, no Disney animated movie is perfect. This is all just my opinion, if people love Lion King awesome, I hope you enjoy it. I always get so nervous when trying to express my feelings towards this because I know it’s such a beloved movie.

The Lion King is definitely one of my favorites, yes. But is it my all-time favorite? Not sure about that. Some contenders for my favorite classic Disney film would be Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Lion King is My all time favorite as well. Although if Simba And Nala's romance was removed that would have felt like a missed plot point. Even before Zazu tells Them (and The Viewers) that They are betrothed You can tell that Nala is (or at least will be) Simba's love interest. If nothing were to come of that. The movie would just be missing something. And I don't just mean a cub at The End.
