It's one of the defining features of a human being: walking upright on two feet. But what's largely taken for granted by many is the subject of a fascinating new book by neuroscientist Shane O'Mara, Professor of Experimental Brain Research at Trinity College Dublin. His bestseller, "In Praise of Walking", dives into the many benefits of taking a stroll. He joined us for Perspective.

I knew I had SUPER POWER when I realized I could walk and chew gum art the same time.

Agree with everything this man say and bought the book ! Remember that Shane is a neuroscientist and all the information is backed by scientific research.

I love walking but with the current state of the city I live in (Seattle). It's dangerous with all the homeless tweakers and gang/drug dealers.

I started walking after mending from a fall. But I walked regularly after dinner for 40 minutes after being diagnosed with diabetes. I find it it destressing. I only walk inside our subdivision bec outside is not safe especially for a woman.

Owning a car does not exclude going for a walk.

I don’t doubt this wonderful man’s theories but if his views are correct wouldn’t soldiers be extraordinarily creative thinkers? Might group walking be used for nefarious purposes? To ensure group loyalty and cohesiveness?

Never met a SF soldier? They are extremely creative and critical thinkers in 'real time' unlike most.

I don't like that we "conquered the planet". That didn't work out so well. Also, a lot of animals walk together in groups successfully like elephants, lions and tigers, sheep, cows, horses, and on and on. Good video otherwise.
