WHY The Biltwell Lane Splitter is the PERFECT Helmet for Harley Sportster Riders!!
WHY The Biltwell Lane Splitter is the PERFECT Helmet for Harley Sportster Riders!! I've been wearing the Biltwell Lane Splitter for a while now and it's finally time to give my opinion on the helmet. I'll go over things I like, things I dont like, who this helmet is for, and why I think this helmet is a perfect match for Harley Sportster riders.

Since my accident on my Harley with a semitrailer that ran a red light, I now always ride in a full face helmet & Lane Splitter was my go too❗💪♥️💪 I got 2 Lane Splitter helmets too💪 I got a gloss black & I got the Rusty Butcher edition as well. The front air vents push alot of air in & I push some tissue paper into the front vents to prevent dust & very small insects coming in, especially as I do night riding. Great weight & no issues on long haul rides. Living The F🤪KING Dream ❗ Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾🇦🇺
Just got a street bob and ordered this helmet. I heard it’s loud but I’m not planning on any highway riding for awhile. Thanks for the video dude!

Its a simple helmet so it is probably louder than most. I've done thousands of miles in it and the noise doesn't bother me.
Thank you for this concise review, as a motovlogger I'm always concerned about three things when buying a helmet, noise, buffeting and fit. When I ride highway speeds, I tend to stay in the +90 limits and these factors play a part.

Yeah I don't vlog too much at highway speeds but I have good luck with this one for speeds around 60 or lower.
I have the Biltwell Lane Splitter. I really like the helmet. Love the look of it. I think that if the put in vents that closed it would be even better. I have my vents taped closed for audio reasons. It is kinda on the loud side but I would definitely get another one!!

Yeah its great! I actually taped mine initially too for audio. But I'm always going so slow through the city it actually seemed too quiet haha.
I really dig the look of these helmets too. Similar story for me. I'm a new rider, had no gear, didn't really know what to buy and didn't have a lot of money to spend. Ended up with the Bell Qualifier DLX Blackout Helmet just bc it had good reviews for the price and i'd heard of Bell. It fits me really well and i feel like i can see out of it good too. def would like to snag one of these lane splitters someday too tho for a different look. great review!

new rider advice..priority should never be to look "cool"
I’m bought a Nolan N100-5modular hemet based on design only 😅 I didn’t know much about motorcycles and accessories when I bought it 😂 … thanks for sharing your experience as it can help new raiders save their $ 👊🏽😎

I go moslty on looks and design as well 😂
Totally dig them, love the styling and fit. Haven’t ridden in it though. I didn’t see those style helmets until I already had a few unfortunately 🤷🏼♂️. I’ve got a HJC modular and a LS2 full face that I dig. Nothing too special to em but they work for me 👌

I have over 20 helmets, 5 Builtwell’s great for use on all my bikes lots of colors ( wish they still made orange) very comfortable!

Agreed!
Just got one today, had the gringo s and loved it but no ventilation for summer. So got the lane splitter. Only complaint is no matter wat helmet i buy it seems i gota put a thin hat on under prolly due to head shape. That and wind noise whistle. But comfy as hell n with a thin thin small head its not too bulky lookin
I'm riding with a Shoei Neotec. A modular helmet in mate black. Main reason for buying that was how silent it felt for me compared to other modular lids I tried :) venting is great but the chin vent is a little noisy..
@TheMotoJawn

Shoei are resl nice.
I have 2 of the lane splitters myself. For how little you spend, there's a decent amount of value, plus I think they look great.
@TheMotoJawn

Yeah definitely more advanced options available, but the lane splitter feels very protective and quality for the price point.
I have a Biltwell Gringo S and a Ruroc atlas 2.0 and a few open face helmets , like them all and keep switching them around. Maby must get a Lanesplitter too 😂

Nice I've been thinking about a gringo as well!
I have EVO GT PRO helmet it’s Asian (copy) of AGV K1 but much cheaper with excellent quality, very quiet as well as great looks. I’m thinking of getting this one because of its ability to allow maximum airflow because I live in a tropical climate.

A lot of air through the front.
I have and drive a Bandit Fighter helmet, I like that the helmet is cheap, fits well on the head and it looks very tough and yes I drive a sportster 🔥🔥
I'm ordering one I think, seems like it will look good without visor.. bc of the simple visor lock on.
@TheMotoJawn

I think no visor looks good too
I liked the Simpson-like look, so I ordered one. Extremely disappointed, it was huge for the size. I usually float between S and M. Got the M first... it was huge. Sold it as new to get a Small. Still too big, I could move it around a lot with my hands. Also feels cheap on the inside, even if the shell looks nice and is well finished. I should get an XS maybe? Probably never going to pull the trigger again on that brand.
I have Nexx X.G 100r carbon black. Tried Gringo first but it was super small sizing.. 😅

I like the gringo. It does seem a little flimsy though. Probably good for an around towner

It's seems minimal to me. I've done thousands of highway miles and it doesn't bother me. Might depend on set up, height etc though.

Funny enough this is the exact helmet Im looking for my Sportster, my parents ride with a 3/4 helmet but Id really like a full face as Ill be riding much more than them.

I need a new helmet for highway. I have a HD Pilot x04 (rebranded scorpion exo covert) and it's so LOUD on highway. That and no real front protection. Gonna check these out.

Honest question here: why would you say there may be more protective helmets? This has a 5 star SHARP rAting.

I'm just assuming there's options with more features or technology behind them that might make them more protective
Only thing it's missing for me is a drop down visor option 😁

@@TheMotoJawn I actually just ordered the Simpson. It came in gray and the lane splitter is no longer available in gray. AND, the ghost bandit has the inner drop down visor. So....realistically if the lane splitter had that same feature it would be pretty close to the Simpson in price I guess
Ghost bandit went with that cause iv heard the cheek padding was snugger
Opening the visor is not very convenient. Also, the front ventilation holes do not close, and at speed there is a lot of wind noise.
I keep hearing this is a loud helmet, true?
@TheMotoJawn
2 жыл бұрын
It does seem a little loud I think mostly just because it's pretty simple open vents etc. But it doesn't really bother me personally. I've done long distance and didn't even think any thing of the noise 🤷♂️

@@TheMotoJawn I picked up one on Revzilla that was on sale for $400ish dollars it’s the Defiant X. They ventilation is amazing, it’s pretty quiet when you close it all up and it’s very comfortable. That being said it’s pricy, even at a discount.
