If Apple produces a ring, don’t ever put it on because it will definitely be the one ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.

I love gadgets but I don’t see the purpose of a ring if I already have a watch. Better metrics are nice but how much better are we talkin’? Enough to warrant a multiple hundred dollar device and yet another thing to wear/charge? It’s going to have to provide a lot more value if it’s going to be worth getting.

For what it’s worth, I have worn the Oura Ring (for 2 years) and the Apple Watch Ultra (for 1.5 years). I only take them off to charge. I feel that the Oura Ring is much better for sleep tracking and the app is better than Apple Health or any other Apple Watch health app. Just one person’s opinion…

I use handcream many times each day - every time I wash my hands. How would handcream affect these fitness rings? Does handcream delay you from putting the ring back on after you put on the cream so you don’t ruin the ring?
Thank you, Bridget, for being one of us (awful sleep pattern habits)!
A ring that can be used for other things than a health tracker is such an amazing idea. I hope Apple or anyone else launches one like that soon.
Where can you purchase the Evie ring?
Good video, Bridget.
A ring that was really a companion to the Vision Pro for better hand tracking plus making it a health tracker would be 🔥
Are you bringing back the "CNET Update"? How time flies...
Yes, it needs to be here yesterday. A collab with Hermes for some versions would be a game changer.

You don't need to activate sleep focus for apple watch to track your sleep. All you need to do is to setup the iphone a time to sleep and a time to wake up.... At weekends I just disable the alarm...
@brandysnap8581

Correct. I only use sleep focus to silence all the notifications, except for important people phone calls. She’s making it seem more complicated than it really is in order to push the ring.

I use the oura ring in the stealth color. As it tracks everything. But the one thing I absolutely can't stand is the subscription fee. It should be free to access your own data. And unfortunately I was late to the party as far as getting the second Gen ring.

Having worn a Oura ring for over a year, and seeing some of the competition, Oura are still far ahead. The competitions apps are quite basic and the information gathered, and how that's used, in the competition is quite basic. Oura use of the data, is quite unique and really very useful and interesting. Yes, they charge a monthly fee, but the quality of the information you get back, is far, far ahead of the competition.
I read about a ring once that made its wearer invisible. It was really bad for their mental health though. Decided to get a cloak off of some kid named Harry instead-does the same thing, just with no side effects.
I have a Fitbit plus a Watch 9. I like the Fitbit for sleep because I don't have to mess around with settings. And my sleep schedule could vary and hour or two each way, so the Apple requirement to set a schedule isn't useful. But I judge that the Ring, along with Watch and sensors coming to the band, sensors in AirPods, and retinal scans coming to Vision Pro and Glasses will be an ecosystem for monitoring and diagnostics which will be central to moving from the current "sickcare" system to a true healthcare system that heads of ailments before they become serious, debilitating or deadly!
Precious… My precious!
Actually sleep focus is not needed, you could skip that step. Only turning the settings on and setting a schedule works for me.
I have never gotten an apple watch to work for sleep tracking or even workouts. Apple watch does not even have a rock-climbing workout like Android watches do. On Android watches, I just wear my watch, and it know when I fell asleep, got up for some water, went back to sleep, and actually woke up. Same for workouts with Android, it knows that I am doing a workout, and I do not need to select "Start Workout."
Not having my ring piece 🤣🤣🤣
I need one that at least vibrates with the alarm in the morning, and for my notifications … that’s gonna make me get one… cause … health monitoring ? Every other company has it.
Nice
One ring to rule them all.
Just watched Lexi’s video on CNET that said these sleep tracking devices are not even accurate…hopefully Apple is taking their time to make theirs accurate and therefore useful?
@BridgetCarey

Here’s another twist: If I give the Pillow app permission to track sleep with Apple Watch data, the sleep results are DIFFERENT than what is in Apple’s Health app. So it’s all how an app interprets the data. So I’m sure there also is truth to the fact that more sensors (hand and wrist) or more data can be more accurate. And it’s also what you as the owner do with that data. Are you feeling bad? Maybe there’s a general trend you can see if you zoom out and look at patterns, rather that worry about exact scores.
@jezza6575
2 ай бұрын
@@BridgetCarey Not to mention the individual, where do we even come up with a baseline for quality sleep? Applying AI technologies to the data in the future will allow it to custom tune a score to make it easier for the layman to determine if something is amiss with their sleep routine rather than missing more sleep poring over data that all these devices collect…talk about a twist!
@sluxi

these can't really ever be that accurate. There are bands you wear on your head to sleep that actually track brain activity and those can be accurate.
Trouble with using the watch to track your sleep (besides wearing it) is that you then need to charge it when you wake up. I charge mine overnight so it’s always charged when i put it on in the morning. An apple ring would be great (esp for payments), altough it’s another thing to charge!
@BridgetCarey

Charging the Evie Ring isn’t too bad. It charges in like 15 minutes or maybe less, so you can do it while getting ready in the morning. I’m still at 62 percent battery since my last charge on Tuesday (3.5 days ago). So I truly just don’t have to think about it until there’s a phone popup warning that the battery on the ring is low.
@RichTallent

The watch charges quick though.. you just have to find a time to charge it for an hour. I always charge mine while taking a shower/bath. By the time I’m done so is the watch, ready to go for the next 24 hours.
@Fennecbutt

I find with my galaxy watch, it's easier to chuck it on the charger when I go thru morning activities like shower etc, that way I can wear it at night but it still gets topped up in the morning.
sleep ring from apple would complete the collection
I hate watches, lol. I've been using an Oura ring for over two years. The battery failed after the first year, but they replaced the ring. And yeah, the $6/month sub fee is kinda silly, but I doubt they would have replaced it so kindly w/o the sub fee.
I can’t imagine getting one of these, but I’d rock it s as an every day wedding ring just to preserve my real one. lol
Couldn't build a car. So we'll build a ring out of spare parts.
I use a Garmin watch. I had no idea it was that hard to get Apple Watch to track sleep. I love Apple but that’s just stupid.
@brandysnap8581

My Apple Watch tracks sleep 24/7 on its own. I don’t need to do anything. I looked at other trackers that would only track sleep during a set timeframe which doesn’t work for me and my wacky sleep schedule.
the main function of apple ring is for complete apple vision pro gesture
As time goes on, Tolkien sounds more and more prophetic..
I have worn the Oura Ring Gen 3 (for 2 years) and the Apple Watch Ultra (for 1.5 years). I only take them off to charge. I feel that the Oura Ring is much better for sleep tracking and the app is better than Apple Health or any other Apple Watch health app. Just one person’s opinion…
I want a small screen on it so I can watch movies on my finger.
It would be nice if the ring could run on solar power so we don’t have to think about recharging it.
Apple will launch the ONE RING…… One ring to bring them into ios and bind them…. ONE Ring to rule them all.😂😂😂
This ring must not fall into the wrong hands!
One ring to control them all 🧹🧙
Apple is in a unique position not to include a monthly subscription or to bundle it, $2.99 iCloud plan gets you the extra storage, private relay and the ring. Or make it so the battery last a month and the ring does 0 computing. All the heavy lifting is done by the phone
I use an Oura ring and thus have its app on my iPhone. I don't like wearing a watch when I sleep. I would like to have an Apple ring that works directly with my phone so I could get rid off another third party device and delete their app from my phone. Wait, that part of the DOJ vs Apple lawsuit...LOL
I fail to see what a smart ring could provide that my Apple Watch can't.
Never worn a ring in my 59 years so wouldn’t wear a smart one either.
Apples version could be a lot different. Yeah by costing twice as much for half the features.
Honestly, I think a smart ring would be the only way I'd ever do sleep tracking. I have an Apple Watch Series 8 but there's no way I'm wearing that to bed.
What’s the point of sleep tracking? Will I get better sleep if my sleep is tracked?

Sleep tracking helps you to identify where your problems are so that you may try to improve them.

I read an article about a woman who was alerted by her apple watch about an elevated heart rate of 189 bpm during her sleep, so she went into the hospital and they found blood clots or something and it saved her life! So... I guess it can be life saving as well.
If sleep stages augment when multiple devices are worn, well then, I think I may have the most accurate sleep stages on Earth! This is what I still have on me after my seven-hour test last night: 1. Ultrahuman Ring Air (bionic gold), right index 2. Ultrahuman Ring Air (matte black), left index 3. ŌURA Ring gen 3, (silver) right thumb 4. ŌURA Ring gen 2, (black) right ring 5. Circular Ring Slim (black) left thumb 6. Circular Ring Pro (black) left index finger above my Ultrahuman Ring Air 7. Garmin Instinct 2X solar (flame red) left wrist 8. OnePlus Watch 2.0 (radiant steel) on my right wrist Was it too much, yes! Was it uncomfortable, nope. But the 9th device was the Libre 3 glucose sensor in the back of my left bicep. I rolled over on my left side around 05:00 and felt a sharp pain. I have high hopes for the Amazfit Helio ring and hope I can just wear the ring and night and an Amazfit smartwatch. As for the Apple smart ring, who knows if it will be able to compete against the Finnish and their pride and joy, ŌURA Ring generation 4...?
Are we sure that this device wont violate any patents like the last Apple Watch did?
This is how u spot when a channel is being bought to do positive coverage
Waiting for Apple to “Put a ring on it. “

The problem for Apple/Samsung is, a ring will/may cannibalise the smart watch. I would love a ring in place of my Apple Watch to track my sleep.
I'm afraid of commitment. can't wear a ring.
I hope the Apple Ring, or Watch, will soon unlock my Tesla.
Oh Bridget you never disappoint
Apple will say they did it first 😅
The last thing we need is more tech.
I ditched my Oura after getting so enraged with the subscription. For a $400 ring you shouldn't have to pay even more every month just to get your own data. What a rip-off. I would be all-in for a stylish Apple watch that could magsafe/Qi charge. Plus I could wear a Rolex or Omega rather than my Apple Watch, which I love, but I would prefer only to wear that for exercise now. But having something that integrates well within the Apple ecosystem would be a game-changer. Especially if it could act as a 2FA passkey or something like that, and also of course track steps and sleep.
If battery is what you want then get a Fitbit. These reasons for a ring don't make sense

I love tech... but I'm finally at the age where I just can't with some of this new tech. VR/AR headsets never took off with me and neither will this. I have an Apple Watch that I sleep it... that's good enough.
Annoyingly they’ll probably charge a monthly fee where my Ringconn is free.
