I just got mine about 2 weeks ago - Hyundai Tucson Ultimate, Hybrid, Amazon Grey with the Moss Grey interior, + Tech Pack. From order to delivery took a week (I was incredibly lucky!) And it is a really good car, a big step up from my older Tucson Premium Se. There are, however, a few things to note. There is an optional extra to pay if you want all the bells and whistles like the 360º camera, better suspension, dashboard blindside monitoring, etc. It's about £1500 and pushes the car into the luxury car tax range at over £40,000 retail. So, on top of your regular vehicle licence, you will pay an extra £395(?) for the next 5 years. But the car drives very well. And looks good too. Actually, it looks way better in real life than on video. True. Would I recommend this car? A big yes and a small no. Small 'no' because I don't want too many people driving it. I want some exclusivity, lol!

I did drive it in the dark; they were LED lights on the car I had and worked well. I had no issues.

Great review, thank you. Just wondered how good the satnav is? I understand that unlike some other cars, you don't get any additional route display come up on the speedo screen. Also, how quiet is the cabin at around the 50 to 70mph range?

I would strongly recommend connecting your phone for navigation and using Google Maps as it will always be better than any in built navigation. I found the car to be very quiet at higher speeds.

@@TechInTheCar Agreed. My last car had built-in navigation and the update process never worked.

Great looks, great spec and great price but the 1.6 petrol version has a serious issue with the exhaust particulate filter clogging up. Unless your doing EasyJet mileage the warning light will come on and the only way to clear is a trip to a main dealer for a £130+ regen, luckily my local main dealer have lowered this to £50 because of complaints from owners. The manual says a 30min journey at 50+ mph will burn off the build up and clear the warning light but it never works so mine has been in 3 times from new. Damn shame because I've owned three generations of Tucson including the supposedly 'sooty' 1.8 diesel and this generation has been an expensive disappointment so far

A good review, but the remote parking, blind spot camera monitor and the 360 camera are not part of the ultimate spec. They are an additional options pack over and above the ultimate spec.

Car drives even nicer with the additional tech pack. Suspension is much much better and changes with the drive mode select. You didn’t mention the roof opens and also the car can centre itself in lane

Thanks! I really liked the Tucson but I haven't driven the Qashqai yet as Nissan is yet to work with me but I hope that will change soon.

Great review just got mine a couple days ago. Worth the wait does feel luxurious and surprisingly fast acceleration for it's size due to added electric power. It's a pity the didn't have a full EV version. They have a plug in hybrid but it's more expensive. Quick tip keep a duster in the storage bin to deal with the finger prints and dust that the the touch screen and smooth surfaces attract.

Yes it is a very good car. And Thank you. Modern cars do end up looking very dusty and covered with fingerprints due to all the screens so it is a good tip.

Its a shame Hyundai is not selling AWD Hybrid in the UK. Because of that I'm considering the mild Hybrid 180PS that it's available as AWD.

The MHEV and PHEV both have the Htrac AWD option. For me AWD really makes the Tucson smoother as theres no wheelspin when accelerating, it can tow more and can travel anywhere with it without worrying about the terrain. Fron my experience it gets only 1-2mpg less than FWD so its absolutely worth it!

What colour is this car? I’ve ordered the mild hybrid premium version after a 10pm that wait I’m finally getting it next week yay

It’s not 230bhp it’s more because you haven’t added the electric boost it gets. Technically (dealer confirmed) it’s closer to 270bhp

A great motor to drive until you get on a motorway... Really bad aerodynamics that trick you into thinking the kids have opened the windows [again] to wind up papa! :) And this is a gas guzzler too. But if you are not in a rush and like scenic routes this car in a class of its own and the fuel consumption is really good!!! And the sensors and warning systems are really useful... (Also passed the long journey for grandma test :) #SafeDrive

I have seen reports on excessive oil usage, engine failure, transmission failure, etc. Does this still apply to the 2022 Tuscon Limited?

I’m not aware of any issues like this further more your warranty would cover anything like this.

Is there an option of 4*4 Transmission??

Yes, this model in the video is 4x4/AWD, but there are also 2WD trims.

Brilliant review. Thanks for this! Just ordered my Ultimate 230 👍 I didn’t go for the optional tech park but don’t think I’m gonna need it.

just to add the auto park and blind spot cameras are not standard on the ultimate trim, this are only available when you £,1500 tech pack 🙄

Both are available depending on what you want. I would recommend a plug-in if your budget fits it as at current fuel prices having some all electric range is a great benefit.

no its not its the FORD KUGA PLUG IN HYBRID is th best SUV specially the price and quality.. the price of hyundai hybrid is to much high compare to PLUG IN HYBRID of KUGA the deference is just more hitech this tucson because of camera angle but overall KUGA PLUG IN HYBRID is way better than tucson and diesel engine will no longer available in 2030 here in europe

I’ve recently rejected my Ford kuga plug in and gone with a Hyundai tuscon. The amount of issues I had with the kuga PHEV was alarming and the dealership just can’t put it right. Another recall for this summer too. I’m done. I’m sure many PHEV kugas work well but if yours doesn’t, you’re probably doomed

I don't even have mine a week yet and I can't wait to get rid of it, handling on back roads is atrocious.
