In just a little over a decade this dude completely crushed competition and dominated the game during its golden era, vs the greatest players to ever grace the sport. Back in 2011 this dude had 1 slam and 0 weeks at no1... and look at where he is now... its absolutely nuts. And he did all that while at the same time he had to beat crowds, biased media, even politics and charades... a beast of a man! GOAT

I'll tell you one thing for sure.. had he figured out his body's reaction to gluten sooner.. his career would've seen success much earlier. In 2008 he was already #3 but kept quitting in matches and they mocked him for it.. now we know what was the truth and who's paying for it !

Attack his forehand. Most famous example is Rafa Nadal. It's crazy how he chooses bold strategies and executes them perfectly well. He's tactically superior to any player who's ever played. Combined with his complete game with no virtual weakness, mental toughness of a Samurai, and physical endurance- he's a pretty tough player to beat, some would say "scary", especially in grand slams.

@@anton12346 Federer started professional tennis in 1998. He retired in 2022. You see how your argument doesn't work in your favor because he had 4 years of completing more than Novak and yet he accomplished less (fewer grans slams, fewer weeks on the number 1 position, worse duel record, fewer ATP Masters, etc, etc). They faced each other 50 times, with Djokovic leading the head-to-head record 27-23, including 13-6 in finals. And how stupid you must be to count in Nadals 13 RG titles as legit greatness while downplaying Djokovics 10 AOs. Keep in mind that the internet tends to save all the stupidity we are saying so think about what you are saying, don't regret it later.

On July the 3 rd. 2011, No23 VAK DJOKOVIC had one (1 GS) title on his resume, and ZERO (0) WEEKS as no.1.At this point , Carlos Alcaraz was 8 yrs.old, Roger Federer had 16 GS titles ( +15 ) next to his name , and Nadal just had the best season of his career ( 2010) , and based on that, and the fact that he had won more Masters titles and had positive H2H vs. Federer, his fans started calling Rafa " THE GOAT ".( the fact that he had NINE (9GS) TITLES less than Federer did not bother them at all.Remember, during all this time ( from 2009 Wimbledon, when Roger won his GS title # 15, one more than Sampras, EVERYBODY considered, and called him " THE GOAT ").Of course, nobody was comparing Roger to Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert or Margaret Court - that was reserved only for Novak nowadays, as armies of FEDAL fans are running out of facts. The only thing left to compare in the GOAT race are opinionsw, and they are subjective to bias and manipulation. Federer fans can say this, Nadal fans can say that, Djokovic fans are not ready yet to make the final word, since No23VAK is still competitive.Nobody knew how far No23VAK would go in the past, and nobody knows how far No23VAK will go in the future. The best is yet to come, since it looks like Djokovic is far from finished.

You see Federer and Nadal won over 40% of their Grand Slams while Novak was not yet on the big stage, while Novak won all his Grand Slams by winning in the finals against Federer and Nadal when they seemed to be the favourites. Further, Novak won more one on one matching in total against both Federer and Nadal. Novak is also the player who did spend more weeks as No1 player on the ATP list than anyone else.

In Serbia we have Jokic who is the best basketball player in the NBA but who loves horses more than basketball and basketball is just something he's good at and it's his job, Djokovic on the other side loves tennis the most and won't give up until his body says no more, which will happen one day but is it going to be in a year or two or 10 years from now nobody knows. If there is one area that Novak dipped in over the years, its the lockdown mode. Its still top notch and might be the best in the world, but definitely not as good as pre 2016. Understandable at 36 years old. For example, I don't like him getting drawn into long rallies v Medvedev. Whereas if we were talking about old Novak, I think he would smoke Medvedev in those ralliies. However, his versatility, clutchness, and volleying has improved so much that it overcomes that dip in lockdown/endurance.

Sport always comes up with better players. Alcaraz seems to be a more complete player than any of the Big 3 also. But Novak was the most complete till now. Had been for almost a decade. Better at the game than Rafa or Roger. The Big 3 were better than thr previous generations. Alcaraz is better than them. 8-10 years from now, or even sooner, there will come along a prodigy even better than Carlos. So let’s just all enjoy greatness.

Strong defence from our author of Novak's character and questioning about why he doesn't receive the crowd support the other top 2 did. Watching the Wimbledon final, Novak wrongly took at 7 minute 'toilet' break when his opponent had all momentum. Unfairly, it worked, he went on the win the next set after which no such tactic was employed by Carlos. As an asides, Fed and Nadal didn't do this either. Author fails to mention this.
