Why Student Voice and Choice?

Why are so many educators advocating for student voice and choice in the classroom?
In some situations, there are a lot of risks associated with giving students voice and choice during class time. Learning by trial and error can be slow and discouraging when we fail; students might focus on topics outside of the curriculum, and ultimately test scores may suffer. So despite all of these disadvantages, many educators advocate for student voice and choice in the classroom.
Learn why in the above video, where I discuss student voice and choice with #DitchBook Author Matt Miller, Educator Innovation Lead Ann Kozma, Educator-Speaker-Author Jacie Maslyk, and #EducatedByDesign Rabbi Michael Cohen.
