Beautiful video, Ivan , you’re a poet. It’s a shame some faces (both in video and the stills) show blurred. I understand the channel started this trend in the french videos during the pandemic, to avoid showing people without masks. But this Hong Kong memory was before the pandemic and people won’t be hurt by local law or exposed for not carrying masks. It’s a photography channel, photos shouldn’t be blurred.

Wow!

As someone who has for much of my life felt the desire to move away from my home town but never managed it, this struck a chord. Your photography builds empathy, and I think there can be no better reason to take pictures.
Really inspiring, great job Ivan !

Omg can I just say thank you. Your video was for me like looking into a mirror of myself. I got into street photography 2 years ago after being in a very suicidal state of mind. Very dark times. Street photography made me see it’s not about just me struggling it’s about making the most of life and enjoying a passion where you see others fortunate and unfortunate making something with their life’s. Pictures do tell a story and your album in the video are memorable to you heart. Thank you for sharing your video and very inspirational to me and many others. God bless Mark

Thank you for sharing your story too Mark, and glad to hear that you’re doing good now. Street photography is also very therapeutic for me, you can get lost, focus on observing the beauty of life and just create. Love it.
A very interesting and enlightening video that sums up the reasons why one photographs. Very calming narration that makes it a pleasure to listen too.

Beautiful.
Great Video. Great Work. Great Artist. Great Camera.
Not sure if it's because I just woke up or if I'm feeling sentimental about Hong Kong or both but that was truly an incredible video... What a way to start my day. I just started following Ivan's work and his use of narration and filming himself to tell a story about photography is so fresh and inspiring. The storytelling through the broll and voiceover, the photos selected, the sound design. And the ending shots of the Toronto wall art followed by the framed photo of the HK skyline. It all almost got me choked up haha 🥺 Really really top tier video. Got a feeling that I'll be returning to this one for years when I'm feeling uninspired to document my home and everyday life.

I watched video this 3 times today. Brilliant work!
Wow, Ivan ... Beautifully told! I'm sitting at my breakfast table on a grey Sunday and wondering whether I should really go out to take photos. I've been trying to find my style in (street) photography for about a year now and have been a bit stuck for a few weeks. Your video and your story have just inspired me anew and motivated me to dare and try out more. Thank you very much for that. Jann
Beautiful video.
Great video of your home 🏡
