this is amazing! i always used to wonder why SSA isnt a criterion for congruence of triangles. i never thought of the second side being possible! very nice explanation

And you might wonder why RHL works because it has the same order as SSA. The reason is because if you draw that circle, since 90 degree angles are always congruent, the two points the circle intersects at create the same triangles, just reflected over one of the legs.

Thanks a lot. The question is why nobody gives the explanation. Also: here in Italy... I don't recall we are thaught about the AAS rule. We have something similar for rect. triangles (called 4th criterion: hyp and cat - and therefore the opposite angle is 90°), but not for generic ones.

It’s the same angle. On the big triangle it’s just one angle, not 2 different angles so they must be congruent
