Why Spain Have The PERFECT System To Win The Euros
Спорт
Despite being largely unfancied before the tournament, Spain have swept all aside on their march to the Quarter-Finals, and now face Germany with the winner almost certain to be favourites.
But how, without their usual array of big-name stars, have they looked like Euro 2024's most accomplished team? Adam Clery looks at both the personnel and the system to show why they could go all the way.

Spain v Germany is basically the final - they are by the far the best two teams in the tournament, and it's a real shame they have to play each other so early. I'm not sure that home advantage is quite such a big thing for the Germans; but Nagelsmann (possibly the most tactically astute coach in the tournament) and Musiala (the one player who regularly looks like he could conjure a goal from nothing) might be the difference makers. Let's hope for a great game anyway.

I'm 60 ,(from Spain) and my generation have spent my childhood and part of my adult life terrified at the idea of playing against the great national teams. Hi mate, greetings from Spain. 100% De la Fuente PLAYED WITH FAST WINGERS since the beginning with the young players. He was able to use a 4-3-3 Or a 4-2-3-1. In my opinion his style is a Tiki-Taka 2.0 because he still wants the possesion at any price. The classic tiki taka style needed a "doble pivote", a couple of deffensive midfielders as Xabi Alonso and Busquets to concentrate a vastly number of midfielders in the centre but without pure and vertical wingers and a false nine(4-5-1) De la fuente has sacrified this "doble pivote" in order to add two fast wingers(4-3-3). I am not an expert, ok? But more or less that's the big change!!!
@javierluissantosrubio6603
17 күн бұрын
De la Fuente It sacrifices the full-backs to be able to include two classic wingers but needs the full-backs to also be classic, Carvajal and Cucurella instead of Navas and Grimaldo who are more offensive, 2 centers instead of 3

Fascinating to see Spain playing football that more closely resembles a Klopp style rather than Pep style. If only Southgate could see how this direct style of play (and resting/rotating players) would be more effective for England and the quick, technical, offensive players at their disposal. I said it: Whoever won the Spain-Germany, would win the tournament. And I stand by it. Spain-Netherlands finals, repeat of the 2010, in which Spain will crush, once again, the hopes and dreams of the Dutch "golden generation".
