Why Spain Have The PERFECT System To Win The Euros

Спорт

Despite being largely unfancied before the tournament, Spain have swept all aside on their march to the Quarter-Finals, and now face Germany with the winner almost certain to be favourites.
But how, without their usual array of big-name stars, have they looked like Euro 2024's most accomplished team? Adam Clery looks at both the personnel and the system to show why they could go all the way.

Spain v Germany is basically the final - they are by the far the best two teams in the tournament, and it's a real shame they have to play each other so early. I'm not sure that home advantage is quite such a big thing for the Germans; but Nagelsmann (possibly the most tactically astute coach in the tournament) and Musiala (the one player who regularly looks like he could conjure a goal from nothing) might be the difference makers. Let's hope for a great game anyway.

Any idea if the Spanish manager had this style when he managed the younger teams or has he only done it with the first team?

Hi mate, greetings from Spain. 100% De la Fuente PLAYED WITH FAST WINGERS since the beginning with the young players. He was able to use a 4-3-3 Or a 4-2-3-1. In my opinion his style is a Tiki-Taka 2.0 because he still wants the possesion at any price. The classic tiki taka style needed a "doble pivote", a couple of deffensive midfielders as Xabi Alonso and Busquets to concentrate a vastly number of midfielders in the centre but without pure and vertical wingers and a false nine(4-5-1) De la fuente has sacrified this "doble pivote" in order to add two fast wingers(4-3-3). I am not an expert, ok? But more or less that's the big change!!!

De la Fuente It sacrifices the full-backs to be able to include two classic wingers but needs the full-backs to also be classic, Carvajal and Cucurella instead of Navas and Grimaldo who are more offensive, 2 centers instead of 3

Fascinating to see Spain playing football that more closely resembles a Klopp style rather than Pep style. If only Southgate could see how this direct style of play (and resting/rotating players) would be more effective for England and the quick, technical, offensive players at their disposal. I'm not sure who would play the Rodri role out of current England players, maybe Wharton or Stones?

I said it: Whoever won the Spain-Germany, would win the tournament. And I stand by it. The only match on a similar level of entertainment was the Netherlands-Turkey, even I think that the level was slightly lower. Spain-Netherlands finals, repeat of the 2010, in which Spain will crush, once again, the hopes and dreams of the Dutch "golden generation".

Jo Dare Toe Dough? Not too bad I suppose, but Ho Dare Toe Dough would have got the extra marks. **It's clear that England's status as tournament favourites is a ruse by the bookies to get gullible England fans to lump on with their entire salaries. Any football fan worth his salt is going to pick Spain, Germany or the Netherlands, or maybe France, or Portugal, or even Switzerland or Turkey before England. **hoping very much to be proven wrong

Tell me what you think: 4-2-3-1 : -Same Def (Gomes over Guehi but Konsa is fine too) -MF Pivot is Rice and JUDE but Rice more CDM and Rice free to roam forward/box to box -3 attacking wingers, Palmer on LW, Saka or Gordon at RW and Foden FINALLY in his proper #10 spot with Kane up top but to drop back and lay off to faster players then follow up with his great positioning to find the net/header on crosses etc
