There is a furrsuit type called a quad suit and it is exactly like it sounds. The suiter wears a helmet with the head attached on top and has a see through flap they use.

Another big reason is marketing. Bolt got a costume to help promote the movie. No clue why they never did this with more popular characters like Simba, though. I’ve always wondered why they don’t make a copy of the Simba puppet from Festival of the Lion King and make a Simba meet and greet! That way he’s still on all fours but you only need one person to work the puppet.

Fursuit makers like beastcub could make 4 legged costumes. Quad suits aren’t perfect looking, but depending on who is making it, they can look really good. The real issue is your back and neck because of how your body is forced to be to look normal for a four legged creature.

While for legged costumes that only have one person in them is a thing (EX: Quad Fursuits) those things are hard to walk in and in the Florida sun? I couldn’t imagine that. not only that but as a fursuiter, quadsuits are SO HARD to walk in. they DESTROY your back and are awfully hard to perform in and would require training for the cast members. quadsuits also require a handler AT ALL TIMES since you’re basically just looking at the floor, and a handler for a character may be tricky since they have to be trained on how to take care of the performer too.

I've seen a movie-accurate Scar fursuit that was just absolutely stunning to look at. I'm pretty sure it took the furry who made the suit MONTHS to get it to look just like the movie version of the character.

Well technically Bolt isn't anthro. Sure he speaks, but that's for the audience's sake for the movie he's from. He still has the anatomy of a dog so he's moreso a personified dog. Also, furries are people with a fascination of anthro characters, not the anthro characters themselves.

WHY IS BOLT'S COSTUME SO WELL MADE???

I love that the bolt suit is literally a fursuit, genuinely thats awesome

Being on two feet gives a more better human interaction rather then seeing them as regular animals

i think the reason is because its humans and they walk on 2 feet

Obviously they stand on their feet so they can hug children better. Or they just don't want people crawling around all day.

Well maybe because there are literal people in the costume sweating to death.

i honestly wouldnt mind crawling around in a dog costume on all fours if im entertaining kids, it honestly sounds a bit fun as long as i get to take breaks (though i know im one of the very few willing to do that)
