I can't stand the people who say that the Philly crowd was too rough on him!! we babied this man unlike any other player that I can remember

I think Ben probably stopped loving B-ball in highschool but he was so good people kept pushing him along. It's obvious he spends NO time in the gym. Real players can't stay out the gym. He was able to use his size and athletic ability to get to the next level. But the NBA is full of athletes. He sat out an entire season and still didn't go to the gym and work on his game.

There’s gonna be a rule in five years called the Simmons clause…. To get paid, certain performance markers need to be achieved… how you gonna take 30 million dollars and say you don’t need to improve…

I am a Sixers fan who cannot stand Ben Simmons and did not even like him at LSU. I wanted the 76ers to draft Brandon Ingram instead but having said that, one of my best friends is player security for the Hawks but was Sixers security for 3 years and I recall him telling me of situations where Ben would literally wrapped up like a mummy on the plane laying on the floor because of his back issues which I don't understand how the Nets trade happen with his back condition...

He has the althletism, but he's lazy and selfish.

He was here in Philly...I took up for this bum but his third year here playing he didn't improve...like at all. Then his 4th year I'm like get rid of this dude. He did the bare minimum to earn that contract...then he really didn't care. He likes the money and celebrity lifestyle. When that contract is up I can almost guarantee you he'll retire. He's never going to get another contract like that again. Biggest fraud in NBA history.

Every summer off season, Ben posts videos of him knocking down 3's. So it's not that he can't shoot them. It's that he doesn't take any 3 point shots. Free throws are a different story, he needs to spend hours practising those.

Making 3s in a gym is very different than in a game. I used to play pick-up games with Manute Bol and he would rain 3s and talk ish while hitting them. But he rarely shot them in games (except the Washington game).

It’s crazy how a player who doesn’t love the game is getting millions of dollars. At least try or attempt to improve. There’s players in the gym working on the their game with sweat, blood, and tears just hoping for a chance to even get called up to be part of the practice squad.

I hated when the Sixers drafted Ben. How many #1 selections couldn't get their College team into the NCAA tournament ? And then he refused to participate in the NIT. Character matters.

These NBA organizations continue to trade for him and pay him a boat load of money. That's where this horror picture begins.

I think it's hilarious that people thought the Nets won the trade.

Simmons is making at least 35 mil and at most 40 mil in his 5 year long contract. he's earning that money while averaging 6/6/6 in 26 minutes and has been called unplayable by his own coach. He's currently making more money than stars like Booker, Embiid, D-Mitch, Tatum, etc. If I was one of those guys or another star making less, I would be pissed too. Players hate him cause he's earning a lot for doing the least. and they know that once the new CBA comes around, they're going to get less money in the deal because of the shit big baby ben Simmons has done. Players will definitely earn less in the future once the new CBA is made, and it'll be his fault.

Yep. When contracts aren't fully guaranteed in the future, Ben Simmons will be the #1 reason why. That's why players hate him.

Theory: Bench Simmons is feigning mental health issues because it allows him to collect a paycheck without having to play or prove an injury.

If he could get past the ego and guaranteed mockery, adopting Rick Barry’s underhand granny shot could transform his free throws. Wilt Chamberlain famously did for a year in Philly and shot 28-of-32 FTs in his 100 point game! But went back to normal form and never shot >60% in a season again. Ben’s shot is so angular- elbow out, hand in and he flips it back to the side. The underhand looks stupid but forces you to abandon bad habits and commit to a more symmetrical release with a gentle touch. But this will never happen, of course

The difference is Draymond has rings, will shoot it even though he can't shoot, and has a will to win. Ben doesn't have any of that.
