I bought Poco F1 6GB (RAM) 128GB (IS) at 16k in Big Billion Day sale in 2019. SD 845 chipset. Still using it. You've rightly said that 2019 was the golden era of budget phones.

Shortage khatam bhi ho jaaye, par companies woh hiked price ko kam karne ke bajaye apni profits badhaa deti hain.. for example recently jo samsung ne kiya.. A52 aur A72 mein charger aata tha fast waala.. par A53 aur A73 mein 99% same chipset, puri same battery, camera, aur pura same display dete huve bhi price same hi nahi rakha, balki increase kar diya..

It actually went reverse slightly in this case. Indisplay fingerprint scanner became so common once, sometime during 2019 oppo, vivo & realme were providing them even at 14-16k. Now the side mounted scanner have dominated mid/upper-mid range & even budget flagship category. And indisplay on mid range often comes with cost cutting on other areas.

Still remember 2019 was the beat year of smartphones!! Best phones were available under 15k...and now a days similar specs mobile are selling under 22k !!

I bought my realme 5 pro for 15k still using it. It was really vfm

I am using mi note 5 pro from 4 years . Thanks God it's best phone for me. I brought that for 15k. Now i think i would need a phone in coming months but i want a compact phone 6 inch would be best but. Nowadays we don't have any small phone in roid. S 22 is what I like but it'sway out of my budget .

I observe this too 2years before snapdragon 710 was coming in 10k to 17 k and now budget mid range phones coming with mediatek processors in this budget.thats why all phones using mediatek more.

Sales crippled by 10% compared to last year (thanks to the pandemic for last year's boom) but profit still keeps increasing and will be increasing even after temporary restrictions are withdrawn... Hell for buyers and Heaven for Vendors...

I bought Redmi Note 8 (4/64) in Nov 2019 at Rs 9999. Snapdraggon 665, quad camera, glass at back, gorilla glass 5 at both sides. A really great time back then. Now u can't get all of this at 10k. Still running like horse.
