Why simple salt water is so much more than it seems | Tim Duignan | TEDxUQ

Humankind has only just touched the surface of salt water’s capabilities. It could provide an exciting solution to our environmental woes through its wide range of applications. Tim Duignan works on computer simulations and mathematical modelling of salt solutions. He received his PhD from the Australian National University in 2015 and has carried out postdoctoral research at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the United States. He has received a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award to work at the University of Queensland on predicting the properties of salt solutions for energy storage applications. In his talk, Tim emphasises the vital role of salt solutions and their unpredictable properties by suggesting different tools which will facilitate the design of electrolyte solutions to realise improved performance of important applications such as energy storage and CO2 capture. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    Ita been known since the beginning of 1900 that purified sea water can help/heal numerous conditions. The research was done by a French biologist curing thousands of people. It didn't cost much. After his deatth, no more. Now an organisation sells it for 40-50€/liter. Or, people make it homemade. 1 part of sea salt, 10 parts of pure water.

    Why everyone is so upset about climate change?

  • @lokanoda

    @lokanoda

    9 ай бұрын

    Maybe they're upset not about the climate change itself (regardless of to what extent that is happening or not happening, and regardless of whether it's anthropogenic or not), but about the relentless pushing of this narrative, which comes with convenient opportunities for the-powers-that-be to introduce more control over the populace. Or maybe they're upset about the fact that contradicting the official narrative seems to have become a crime, even though that modus operandi would be underpinning the scientific modus operandi itself. Although I'm not upset myself, and hold a middle line, I can see valid points in both these lines of thinking though. (As I can see valid points in the official line of thinking.)
