Why should you choose our Residency PBLP?

Our Residency Practice-Based Learning Program (Residency PBLP) is an evidence-based program designed to enhance competence for independent practice. Offered to family medicine residency programs across Canada, it features interactive small group sessions facilitated by trained faculty members and residents.
Why should you choose our Residency PBLP?
Our modules promote active learning, which is more engaging than traditional lectures and makes learning in a group enjoyable. By sharing real patient experiences, it helps you solidify knowledge in long-term memory. The program also encourages collaborative learning, enhancing wellness by allowing you to discuss your experiences and connect with peers and faculty on commonly faced family medicine issues.
Our modules facilitate knowledge acquisition, keeping you up-to-date with common issues in family medicine, by offering evidence-based, unbiased content. They promote the application of learning applied to the local context, encouraging you to question clinical practices and reflect on further reading.
Medical resources like tables and flowcharts are accessible for future reference and aid in certification exam preparation. The program further builds on a supportive community of learning, so that you can feel prepared to join a group and learn for the rest of your career together in a supported fashion.
Our Residency PBLP format includes regularly scheduled sessions, 60-90 minutes each, with a trained facilitator, faculty or senior resident, a mix of PGY1 and PGY2 residents, pre-reading, and group discussions to reflect on clinical practice and incorporate changes.
Our aim is to empower you to seamlessly transition from structured learning within a formal training program to embracing a proactive approach to self-directed CME. This commitment will support and enhance your professional journey every step of the way.
