In my opinion, if you're carrying a knife for self defense or any tactical purpose, you'd want "every advantage" that you can get and for me, serrations just happen to fit that bill! Great review here too...

Correct ! Hence why I own a serrated XL Counterpoint and a serrated XL Voyager vaquero. I don't plan on ever cutting anything so I don't have to worry about sharpening the serrations. If I do have to cut anything, well, that's what they're for! .

Impressive video. All of my CS serrated blades have held up well over the years. A few have boogered up pointy tips of serrations but they still sharpen up easily.

Very informative video! Demonstrating the unique abilities of a serrated blade should help naysayers see their benefit. Hissatsu5's video of the Cold Steel Talwar XL serrated & straight edge vs pork loin is STILL my most favorite knife video. 👍🏽‼️

Serrations cut great until you put loose material over what you're trying to cut..... they will grab and pull the material over the top and barley scratch whats underneath. Obviously they will cut straight through tight material, but when's the last time you saw someone wearing a tight hoodie?

I'd like to get one of these if I can get it to open fast and if I can sharpen te serrations?? It's been a while since I saw you with the voyagers where you said you changed over from plain edge to serrated on all your knives...Hope you and your brother are doing fine...God bless your Mama....time just goes so fast...Bruce

Wait a minute you said, "you will always have a good cutting edge" referring to serrations. So essentially you said that serration never get dull and always stay sharp. Well, actually that statement is not true at all and is complete bullshit. Serration do actually eventually get dull, the issue is when they do get dull sharpening them is a real pain in the ass!!! Especially the crappy serration type/pattern that Cold Steel uses!!! In my personal opinion, the best serration ever put on a knife are Veff serrations that were created by Tom Veff and seen/used exclusively on CRKT knives Why are Veff serrations absolutely the best, because they are essentially mini seat belt strap cutters that are extremely sharp and easily cut without sticking or dragging into the material that you're trying to cut. The serrations that Cold Steel uses snag and bind on the material when you try to slowly&easily cut different material, to cut with Cold Steels serration type/pattern effectively you always have to be swinging a Cold Steel knife full force like your trying to chop down a tree!!! Matt, please watch this video on serrations you might learn something - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZZmouNaaf63dndI.html

Thomas Connolly I really like Tom Vefff serrations and Spyderco serrations as well. But I don’t think you understand hyperbolic statements. I do not literally mean that serrations will never ever go dull. My statement about always having a “good cutting edge” was said with the context of buying a self-defense knife for a loved one that will never sharpen there blade.
