As a lad from Wrexham, this type of news has really lifted the place. When the football team went down, so did the entire town. Now it’s feels like there’s a future for us, and hopefully we’ll be back in the football league soon.

The Wrexham purchase has been the antidote to all the petro dollar fueled financial doping currently rife at the top of the game. It’s just a fantastic story and the way Reynolds and McElhenney have come in and not just elevated the club, but also the local businesses that had kept Wrexham afloat is just heart warming.

Wrexham itself has such a fantastic and rich history, from the first ever lager brewed in the UK, to the 3rd oldest football club in the world, and the oldest international football stadium in the world (And has one of the largest business parks in Europe). I'm proud to be from Wrexham, and it's pretty surreal that we're getting international fame, where as not too long ago, barely anybody even heard of Wrexham, even in England lol.

I remember when back in 1985 Wrexham played my beloved FC Porto and went through the next stage of the former Cup Winners Cup by losing 4 - 3 in Portugal (they won the first leg in Wales 1 - 0. They were in the fourth division and we were mocked for years by our rivals Benfica and Sporting.

I hope Porto come to Wrexham to play in a preseason friendly which would be a brilliant occasion. I remember Barcelona played Dundee United in a friendly around a decade ago to celebrate their meeting in 80's when little Dundee United beat Barcelona so it'd be nice to have this rare matchup in a friendly match again.

It's one of my biggest criticisms of UEFA - the fact that occasions like that are rarer now than they've ever been because of the Champions' League and the scrapping of the CWC. The 1-0 away defeat Bangor City had against the mighty Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Cup is still talked about. At that time, Bangor were a non-league team playing in the English system (there was no Welsh league at the time).

I'm a huge Wrexham fan, I've seen is plummet thorough the leagues. This is amazing to see, and I have doubt we'll still end up no promoted at the end of the season.

I really hope that team does well! How can you not love Ryan Reynolds? This guy is a talented actor, a smart businessman, and a stand-out guy. Good luck!

Today is the day that Wrexham AFC almost made it back into league play. I didn't hear about this until late in the 21-22 season, but I will certainly be paying attention next year. This was the season in which they hoped for promotion. Next season, it will be expected.

the fact that they are 7 points out of from automatic promotion, with 7 games to play says something about the talent they brought in for this season

I am nowhere near Wrexham (South Africa) and even I teared up 😂😂. That's a really nice touch. Actually giving thanks and appreciating the people who did everything they could to save the club. Without them there would be no opportunity for the new owners. It's so beautiful seeing the community to keep their club alive. That love affair between club and community is all over the world and can't be bought

Wrexham could climb up through the leagues. They should do well. I think there should be a Celtic Club Cup between all Scottish Premier sides, plus selected sides from Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, and Brittany. This would be on top of European football and domestic leagues.

If city was was a big club waiting for some love. Why's it that even after all the success they were struggling to fill their stadium as early as 5years ago? I hope you take what I'm gonna say I'm a peaceful way. WHY DO PEOPLE DISLIKE CITY? Because they were a mid table team and sometimes even fighting for relegation kinda of team until 2009 . So why do people hate them is it because they won alot since? Not particularly. The fact that they got the cheatcode of football 💵 make them so strong even the big boys like Liverpool, Arsenal and United can't go close to them. So if the big teams are struggling themselves how do you think it had been for the smaller clubs? Clubs like Everton, Nottingham Forest, Leeds utd are all historically and in terms of fanbase bigger than City. And how a club like City who struglings to get in 20k people increased their revenue in such a short time that the only club who got more revenue then City was Real Madrid? Something fishy innit?

Liverpool fan here and I have seen all the episodes of wrexham fc. I am truly inspired by the club fans loyalty and the history of the club.

My club Southend United are a similar size to Wrexham with a large catchment with a similar history…. If only us eh! - good luck to Wrexham, only thing that worries me is that I hope these guys know how much is a loss making situation it will be getting Wrexham back up through the leagues before they can start to make money. I love the idea of this - the romantic aspects, plus the glamour that Reynolds brings can only boost Wrexham's profile. I just really hope that this isn't some short-term fad for the sake of a documentary. Wrexham, and league football in general, deserve better. Still, I've got my fingers crossed and truly wish Wrexham AFC all the best. Hopefully, if they are successful it might tempt other wealthy benefactors into reassessing and investing into lower league teams.

Even if it’s just a short term fad for the documentary, the tangible and intangible investments being made during their ownership will remains beneficial for the long term of the club. A national league club with global support as a global brand is a very strong foundation for the club going forward.

I live in Wrexham. Genuinely excitment. R&M did all the right things by meeting with the supports group, keeping faithful to those that have supported the club get to where it has and nice gestures to the community. It's such a change of pace to what's been in recent years

They might be wealthy individuals but their combined net worth is only 200m USD, smaller than some transfer fees. Hardly has the wealth of a sovereign nation or even a billionaire (in the case of Salford and Peter Lim) supporting them

I'd bet it's the Class of 92's success and actual enthusiasm when they bought Salford that has helped Reynolds and Mclhenny to be welcomed at Wrexham. I know Salford felt like the Class were just big bucks guys trying to flaunt their cash, but they've proved that they actually want to do right. I think it's created a public sentiment that as long as the celebs actually kinda care about the club then it should be ok. Obviously big clubs are different, coz they need financial power, so a celeb buying a club would REALLY need to show they're gonna put in the effort and the work. Small clubs can get bought by celebs with a little bit of wealth. Plus, Reynolds is insanely likeable and has a reputation for being humble and nice and modest in his own way, and down to earth. So it probably feels like you can trust him to do what he says whereas other celebs probably would be viewed with derision or suspicion.
