Why Run?

I had a 10k Brutal run to complete this weekend....and it coincided with someone asking me "why do you like running". So, I thought I'd deal with both at once.

Man watching your videos as a fellow big guy (although not that big I'm 6'3 and around 220) has motivated me to get out and run again. I haven't ran since my highschool track days, so it's been tough but watching your videos has helped me get half way through my first couch to 5k program. Before I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds now I can go 20 minutes at a time. It was all about just accepting the initial pain of starting something new,. Thanks so much brotha, keep up the good work!

I was exactly like you. It’s uncanny. I hated running. Not run since school and I’m 44 now. Just about doing a sub 30mins 5k-started at 45mins 5k last June when I started. I agree with you, it’s primal and it’s relatively easy to do-no gear needed. I was into road cycling but a new baby has forced me to run-love it now. Cycling is secondary. Keep up your vids. I really enjoy them.

I got into running because it's the most portable form of exercise. Just some shirt, short, shoes and you can do it just about anywhere.

Hey man I appreciate the content and effort put into the videos. I saw your video about the CRF 250 l ( my new bike) and ive recently right when covid-19 started (i lost my job) started to change my life, from cigarettes, alcohol and recreational activities lol.. also working like 60+ hours a week - to doing exercise everyday, and gotten into running even tho im heavy as fuck atm ive lost 10 kilos and still going. Im reading "cant hurt me" by david goggins a US navy seal, and I saw the other video you made, where you talk about being heavy and starting running. Ive never ever, considered myself a runner at all. I was always just good at lifting heavy shit at work. I try to do things that suck, and i hate everyday and I feel better than i've done in 10+ years, and I keep surprising myself! Anyways! cool videos stay safe!

Yeah I'm 6'8" or 203cm tall. Approximately 215 lbs or 97.5 kg. Not light. But I love running. I really like your take on it. Not talking down to us or telling us what we have to do, but just giving what you like and inspiring by doing.

A 60 minute run gets me out of town, empties the mind, and the whole lot takes me 90 minutes tops, including the shower I was going to take anyways. Nice videos btw.

Watching the brutal reminded me when I lived in Guildford. Something that you might be interested in, try Tri Adventure. Very enjoyable competition, running, mountain biking and navigation

X3M is no slouch ! but that aside i agree with you that running in a race is far more rewarding than winning a car race (at santa pod)

Getting punched in the face is much easier than running. I much prefer sparring to running, more fun and easier in most cases

I understand "why run?"....but what I don't understand is "why run to get back to where you started?". Just stay where you are and get some tea and a muffin.
