At this point I think people are making modern games on RetroStudio because it’s a game making platform that has less competition than real Roblox, making it easier for people to get featured or on the front page.

It Sure is! Also it could Be because of Mobile Players who want Roblox studio on mobile.

What i think is big problem, that like 90% of the game creators dont really know how to script in RetroStudio, because of that they just put some Free Models into the game. And then they just try to get players by putting alt accounts into the server to get the game to the front page. For some reason also most of the players only want to play these game. Like there are really well scripted games but at the end nobody plays them.

I'm genuinely surprised you didn't mention how the people making the games effect this. The studio takes some time to understand but it's still simple and easy to make stuff with. So most games are just a small passion project, meaning they'll implement stuff that either keeps people staying or leaving. Most frontpage games have some social aspect to them, or at least a lot of replay value. Games like watch a tv and the other low effort ones fulfill one of retrostudio's purposes of a social hangout game, and badges that encourage getting good and easy to play round-based games like natural disaster survival or retro fortress 2 are easy to get good at, so they entice you to keep playing. I could do a massive essay on this (and I might one day lmao), but just know there's a lot of things that influence how games are made and how many people play them. For example: -The motives of making the game, do you want retrobux? to be noticed? to just make a damn good game? to provide more quality games for the playerbase? to test the limits of retrostudio? -Do you want to implement gamepasses? If so, how will you do it? How will you make people stay long enough to warm up to your game and buy it, or alternatively, make the gamepasses p2w in order to easily attract kids? -How much effort will you be willing to have to put in before calling it quits? A lot of projects get canned because the developers just gave up on it and felt it was too time-consuming or confusing. Others go through development hell because of procrastination, sometimes due to updates breaking the game. -How good are you at scripting/building? Everyone has a limit to their capabilities, ones that we can eventually surpass yes, but still. Some people just aren't ready yet to make high quality games. -How good of a hook does it have? Is your thumbnail appealing, your title flashy, your reputation good, your "advertising campaign" attractive enough to get people to come in and stay in? There's a lot of stuff that influences what people want to play and what people will make for them, and that's not even getting started on the players mindset. I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention the devs themselves, as they ARE retrostudio, without them there is no game. To be fair though you have a massive viewer base and scripting doesn't seem like your cup of tea, hell I got neither the viewer base nor drive to script lol. So I can understand you not knowing a lot about how the games are made. Just something I needed to get off my chest.

I agree, making a game is hard, I would’ve been able to script extremely good if I was able to build 6 years ago, I didn’t have a PC tho so when I found retrostudio I started building a game that is the cause for people knowing me as “the zombie guy” because I know how to make scripts, but for some reason retrostudio wont even allow me to execute scripts, screen just blacks out..

Man, now u kinda made me think about the game alot. I can never finish a game since people dont want to play it my titles i would say are not very flashy, neither are my thumbnails. I just think that it's time consuming and i can never finish a game. I've had "50" PROJECTS that i never finished. I wanna make something fun for me and others. Before i had confidence but now.. I dont. I just lost confidence and i don't have any fun game ideas, i also cannot script which just ruins it even more. I've completely lost hope for building games and.. i'd rather play than build. Sorry if im yapping about total random stuff.. I had one good game but it was a doors game and got quickly deleted. Now i've been trying to come up with something good but.. Nothing... So i 100% agree with you with this. I wanna learn how to code but i never have time to do it so i just build and. build and.. build endlessly.. And also people only would play my games if i were in it. Which now thhat i think about is good. Since i have admin commands so i can make it more fun that usual. I don't know what i wrote at this point but i agree with what u are saying.

and theres game devs that make games and put alot of effort into it but it never gets up on the front page (i dont apply to this mine did once but the game sucks lol im planning on revamping it)

Honestly you should make a series where you review your fans games, rate it from 0 to 10, pros and cons, if its original or not, something like that

I'm pretty late to this, but I definitely agree that RetroStudio is boring to a extent. I used to spend a lot of my time exploiting, bypassing the chat and just not playing the game as it should be played. I actually got tired of it, I was tired of exploiting, bypassing, and thats why I have decided to just play normally now, the way I used to which I admit is a lot more fun than the rule breaking I used to do.

Imagine if retro studio added a rule that prohibits games based solely on trends from 2020 + 🤔

This is supposed to be classic roblox, and then, there were always different games on the front page. Here its just the same boring made-for-NPCS games!

The front page is always the same because nobody bothers looking past the front page. Some people probably think the games on the front page are the most hard worked on and are just the best in general. So if nobody goes past the front page, how will you find something new to get popular? If I'm looking for something to play on Retrostudio, I always go to the last page where I see people playing and try to find something there. I would like to support game creators that put their heart into games but never get any views, but I guess the rest of the community doesn't feel the same.

I told them in the server about how no orginal ideas or even remakes are made! Its just a copy and paste of roblox games into retrostudio! I have only seen 1 remake of a roblox game in retrostudio.

people need to start realizing that retrostudio is just the alternative roblox, because roblox in my opinion is getting boring. even tho I joined back in 2020, it's been really hard to find good games. Usually it will be a clicker simulator or another horror game. I know there is some really good games out there, it's just the roblox algorithm has been waking up on the wrong side of bed lately.

Event Team Member here! and yeah I’m gonna be honest, Retrostudio is getting boring, almost some games itself are alright, but it can lack anything and can’t get enough people interest in them. There’s the same games that’s been in the popular tab too. Overall, half the players that play Retrostudio are either people that actual OG, or people that say they are then realize how “Old Roblox” is pretty simple, but also boring. (Sorry for the long essay, wanted to give my opinion in this topic)

I agree, I don’t like how there’s going to always games such as, be crushed by a speeding wall, ignore, NDS and scary, great games but other games deserve spotlight. I have a small game which is mid, but I know other games filled with scripts, that deserve to have spotlight. (It’s 2015 but it’s because it’s better for the game quality)

I almost don't have 2015 games still nobody sees them.

Probably it wont be boring, in my new retrostudio project me and my devs will work on the project and i hired the best devs scripter and an ui designer retrostudio wont be boring anymore probably:)

tbh i agree + it's harder to develop stuff want to remake a popular game from old Roblox it'll take days or weeks literally it's so hard to rebuild the building's from the old games and since there's thousands of parts again it might take day's or weeks the old Roblox revivals offsite are way better then retrostudio because it's literally all old Roblox game's and in retrostudio it's harder to make games that are remake's of old Roblox games + the studio doesn't update depending on the year so now you got to stay with the same 2013 Roblox studio can't they just add late 2014 Roblox studio if you are using the 2014L and 2015E-2015M clients and I hate block coding it takes more time than using Roblox coding language litearlly you connect blocks and if they just made a coding system besides block coding and make it a normal script builder then it'll not even be as stressful as it is to make games on retrostudio.

i think i get what you're saying: - games are copying off of other older retrostudio games - 99% of all games that are on the front page are used to get retrobux - people create in retrostudio when they want to feel a feeling of becoming successful (which they can't do in normal roblox), and not to get nostalgia - most kids don't understand what the value of a game is (how good or bad it is)

Man kloud4k, I miss you so much bruh. Even if roblox is collasping, even if im a shathead sometimes, I just miss you. Im sorry for what I've done. I've had a horrible week. Many things have gone so wrong lately. I'm sorry. If your feeling horrible, im also feeling horrible. I've been feeling like every minute is an hour wasted, and I been doing decisions that causes problems. My computer has been poop on and off latly but thats not the point. I just feel like I have nothing to do, I am feeling feelings that im just wasting time on things to satisfy me only to do nothing, working on things that go to nowhere.
