Connection, Safarish, Networking, Napotism...even sleeping with casting calls crew members.. any or all of that may help one get their foot in the door but if they don't have an actual staying power to be in the room in the first place; that is, talent, charisma, charm, and proper decision making ability for picking the right projects, wisely (aka: the merit), they will be kicked out of the room, sooner than later. It's extremely rare if someone with zero talent would make appearances in more than one or two flicks.

Thank you very much for the information about Kumar Gaurav. I love Love Story, I just fell in love with the two cuties. I watched it more than twenty times, I got a letter with their pictures from India, I keep them to this day.

Rajendra Kumar ji aur Raj Kapoor ji ki dosti such mein uss samay do sage bhaiyo ki tarah thi ' Dono ne film industry mein bahot naam aur shohrat kamayi uss woqt ' Lekin bachcho ka pyaar aur shadi ye har kisi ki apni choice hoti hai duniya mein Insaan sochta kuch hai aur naseeb se hota kuch aur hai 🙏

I didn't know all this detail since I only saw Love Story and then didn't have an opportunity to see any Bollywood flick for about two decades so knew nothing about whatever happened to these two shinning stars I became so instantly fan of as a young teenager.

I was a big fan teenager when Love Story was released. To this day I have its original soundtrack in my favorite music cassettes collection. (Btw, nice little trivia: Love Story also gave opportunity to Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar to finally shine on his own to come out from underneath his dad's shadow and be reckon as a bona-fide playback singer. For the very first time in his then fledgling career he sang all the songs of that movie as being the only male playback singer!)

As per Indian upbringing, he should have knowledge of empathy. Gaurav should have remained strong to his love, and oppose his engagement, and would have honest about his first love. 90% of Indian women are very emotional. One more overlooked factor about Kumar Gaurav failed career apart from his poor acting is the demand for action stars. Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Da, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt and even Anil Kapoor were projecting themselves as Angry man and Kumar Gaurav was a chocolaty boy which worked before Bachchan era.

Exactly compared to his contemporaries, KG is a crappy actor. He’s NOTHING compared to Anil Kapoor, Sanju Baba, Govinda or even Sunny Deol. When Sunny is good, he’s good! his acting is mediocre like his father’s. He did not stand a chance with his counterparts at all.

What I believe is that he must has been a papa's boy since he did well in both of his dad's movies but not so well in others. Raj Kapoor may have had used some muscle to discredit him but I think the prime reason to blame for his lackluster career was his own attitude. When a sudden success, money, fame goes up over one's head, they can't think of act reasonably. Not only it reflects bad on their decision making, it also brings out unaccommodating reaction from others especially of those who are not dependent upon their approvals and, hence, the reversal of fortune...or, ahem... karma, if you will! But if he acted any movie today, I'll probably still watch it out of sheer curiosity just for him because, to this day, I am a big fan of Love Story not because it was any a unique or original story/movie but because its music and the nostalgia of the movie's theme premise resonated so much and so well with my own then young teen dreams and hormones overload.☺️😁
