Conservative men say they want a "trad modest wife" yet be thirsting after women who are extremely liberal (both politically, fashion-wise). That one tiktok where the lady says men want someone they can break down and morph into this tradwife image is painfully accurate.

Men like that don't actually want women, pick-mes or otherwise. They are thirsting after women's bodies and they want women to take care of them. But they do not want to be in a relationship with a woman because they hate and resent all of them. It's completely stupid of those men, and of the pick-me's, to believe that there could be a woman so perfect and unobjectionable they would love her despite despising her entire gender.

@@kayleewilliams1232man, I dunno, they seem to lose their minds over non-exotic birds too. :/ if we wanna keep up with the animal analogy (I don’t care, and honestly it’s really fitting for my own purposes, XD), they’re also willing to freak out and be mad at the herding dog they got to do sheep herding and are angry that… it… you know… herds sheep. Aka: conservative men just _railing_ on about how tomboys just ‘want to be men’ and then bemoaning when women aren’t physically strong tomboys who know how to hunt or fix things and build stuff. At least liberal men will be superficially shallow about it and praise women for having muscles if they’re remotely into that. But they’re insufferable in their own way and many of them also believe any tomboy wants to be a man. And I don’t think there is a better description of why men are out of touch with women because they can’t seem to remotely grasp how wanting to know how to hang a picture frame doesn’t make you want to ‘become a man.’

Pearl is either learning or is going to learn that you can pander to the patriarchy's "ideal woman" and that still doesnt mean you'll get the "consolation" prize of being respected and looked at as something valuable. I see way too many women, especially in the older generation, who have ended up very bitter because they performed amd endured all the expectations that our society and men has for women and they still didn't end up being treated fairly or valued by men or society, just like they were told they would be if they played their "ideal" woman. Pearl says all the right things, you'd think men would be clamouring to get with her, but she is the pick me who is never picked because (one of the reasons) the men she's trying to appeal to prefer caging a woman they perceive as "free" and "independent" for their ego boost for making a woman submit, instead of a woman who already put herself in a cage, just like you said.

Sydney Sweeney is basically a modern day Marilyn Monroe. These women showcase their beauty through film and television, but it’s all fake. It’s an actor’s job to dress-up and play pretend. It’s different from a model because their job is to be seen and not heard. Whereas with socialites, it’s their true selves; it’s exactly who they are and how they want people to see them. And porn stars are completely irredeemable because they’re literally intimate with other men. At least that’s my half-baked theory on why Sydney is the new messiah for right-wing men.

But I remember there was a time everyone was calling her ugly, saying she looks like a Muppet and she even cried on live about it. And now she's being called beautiful and the dream woman. I always thought she was absolutely stunning. She gives like horror movie final girl energy. But I wonder what caused this shift in how she's perceived????

She started paying $20,000 a month for a publicist. She said this in an interview. Clearly since signing with that PR firm, her image online has changed. These firms will hire out bot farms to flood anything online pertaining to the client with positive comments. There was clearly an effort to change the narrative about her appearance, and it worked.

While I don’t agree with her views, even I have to admit that Pearl isn’t ugly. She’s just average. The men she caters to want someone who’s effortlessly sexy; a woman that men want and other women want to be. The only way she can achieve that is through lots of make-up or plastic surgery. And I doubt Pearl sees either as ideal since it’s “not natural”. And by lots of make-up, I mean make-up that makes her look bare faced. Conservatives love nude make-up because it makes them look naturally beautiful or like they barely need make-up to be attractive.

She’s outside the narrow “feminine” ideal the men she preaches too want - agreed. The irony is if she didn’t reinforce publicly and in her own mind this narrow shallow version of feminine, she’d be able to embrace her unique looks into a form of beauty that fits her and her demeanor. But you have to believe beauty means more than just one thing for that and I don’t think she has that capacity right now

  • @Crisjola

If anyone ever wants proof that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder: I know I cannot do ‘effortlessly sexy,’ like, even if I remove the medical issues that make it so I hurt and have other issues going on (also society is so weird about women having scars of any size), but two days ago I was typing away at a story (day off, chose to do my hobby of ‘write for fun not work’) and my bf was _apparently_ standing in our bedroom doorway for… a _while_ watching me type, knowing I hadn’t even rolled out of bed, I’d just dragged a keyboard over and turned on the tablet, and he was enthralled and after at least three minutes, probably about five, he came over, asked if I wanted anything-he gets up at an ungodly hour and futzes around if we’re not out in the country where he’d be off checking snares-then joined me to read over my shoulder as I typed (I tend to skip breakfast because I’m busy shaking plot out of my ears after sleeping). I know what he thinks, that he thinks I’m able to take his breath away by just existing. And it’s so very odd to me, that that is the case because I don’t remotely think that as being a trait of my own. But then I also remember that I think he’s the most good looking person I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching, basically ever. And while the running tease back is “well, your opinion is _extremely_ biased, :P” it’s also a pretty darn factual one. To me. And I think these guys who have worked themselves into a corner of someone who is effortlessly sexy don’t understand that they would actually find that someone they _really_ care about as effortlessly sexy if they really care about them as a person. Like, I don’t think all of us, men or women, who prefer to date someone because of their brain/personality are going in with any concept of beauty standards other than ‘generalized healthy.’ Conflating that with other things is a completely separate issue, but I think it really is these alpha wanna bes watching movies their whole lives and missing the fact that every bit of it is acted and scripted and etc so they don’t even know that when it’s a real human that sure someone might have horrible bed head, but they also, especially if they are you SO are probably going to, most of the time, look very cute with their horrible bed head.

My husband and I have a partnership. We are a team. When crap comes up, we work through it _together._ We don't look at US as him against me or me against him and it works beautifully!! We laugh all the time, we build our dreams together, take care of the house together and there is so much love and acceptance!! Now, my first marriage? It was a Christian "traditional" marriage. It was *HELL on Earth.* I worked 60+ hours a week beside him, was never given any validation for helping him whilst he took all the credit. No sex (after first 4 years and even then he was incredibly selfish in bed, he didn't know where things were or what to do with them), no emotional intimacy, no sharing feelings, he saw it all as him against me or vice versa, we'd get home and I would work my 2nd shift doing everything in the house....oh, well, he took out the trash. Years later, _I took out the trash and left him._ 😊❤

Even though different men/women/people want different things, i think there's one trait that's almost universally a turn-off, regardless of gender. That is appearing desperate. "Nice guys" were on blast for not realizing it for the last ten years or so, but now it's the pick-mes' turn. The only people who find desperation appealing are those who want to keep you feeling "less-than" so they can control you and keep you striving for their approval. Emotionally healthy people want someone who is secure in who they are, whether they love sewing and baking, or camping and fishing.

And even further than that you have that friend that seems like a great friend, could talk some feminist shit, until someone a guy comes around and suddenly theyre making back handed comments to embarrass or put you down

I think the problem is with people in general is they try to box you into categories ( especially when you're just being yourself) if you are I don't know, a bit different or maybe 🤔 when they don't understand you because they are trying to appeal to a mindset or it's not even that sometimes , it's because they don't know how to, or haven't learned yet on how to think for themselves.

100%!! People think femininity is about makeup and wearing skirts. Feminity is about how you carry yourself, being in your body, living life, doing what you love, indulging your senses (to a degree), kindness, acceptance. Yes certain hobbies can make you appear more feminine but a woman enjoying her hobbies, smiling, loving life and nature is more feminine than a woman who bashes others aggressively on Twitter. The woman bashing the country girl can act feminine all she wants, her aggressive and rude Twitter account says otherwise.

13:05 - she's got everything exactly on the money but she also left the kicker: Once they turn her into a pick me, they act all dazed and confused why she's not the person who she use to be that made them attracted to her in the first place or they just got bored now that they've 'caught' their 'prey'. You'd hope that would cause some self reflection but instead like a spoiled toddler, they throw them away and try it again with a new shiny toy.

Really enjoyed the video. I often said that men that desire traditional wives have a willing pool of participants (pickme(s)). But both groups fail to interact. Some men have no idea of what they truly want and often rage (but yet are intrigued) by a challenge. Its sorta like that gazelle wondering free and unattainable. He just has to have it. No matter if the gazelle has to be taken down in the long run. Remain blessed

Pretty on point. Conservative (especially red pill) men tend to see most things as a competition to be won. But if someone willingly submits to you, that is not a victory. Also, people who think in strict hierarchies tend to view others below them with disdain, not respect.

I think there is also a second meaning, no one likes "traitors" . Pearl, even though she is a woman, she talks so badly about other women, she is a "traitor to women", so you subconsciously don't like her because maybe if you become part of her circle, she will betray you, no one will risk that his wife or girlfriend will talk such nonsense about him, even after a breakup.

During quarantine, I got Tinder Gold out of boredom and curiosity to see what types of people I attracted. Besides some really weird recurring things (guys who called themselves Smoke, couples who ignored my bio, etc), I noticed a really weird trend of conservative types who enjoyed hunting and whatnot. (I’m not saying all people who enjoy hunting are conservative but. There are connecting points.) My final straw was when a Mexican Tr*mp supporter super liked me. And I couldn’t for the life of me understand why I, as a black queer woman who expressed some liberal views, seemed to attract these types. At first, I thought it was like a guilty pleasure thing but the idea of them wanting to break a liberal-minded afab makes a weird amount of sense...

it's so sad seeing such a beautiful young woman get shamed by insecure pickmes. honestly, a man who can't appreciate an american woman probably can't appreciate any woman even if he was staring a goddess in the face. american women are raised to step up and do what needs to be done when it needs to be done, even traditionally manly things. she's brave and resourceful and can't be told no she can't do it. she's escaped the boxes society has tried to trap her mother and grandmother in and her spirit is free and unrestrained. If she chooses a man, he needs to be the kind of man who can preserve this free spirit and allow it to flourish. He can't be taking her flame and putting it under a bowl. she's an inspiration! but for insecure men and women, she's the devil, she's misguided, and she needs to be stoned or something. I sometimes see this in men other men call "simps" but are actually just good men who are in touch with their emotions and are capable of tapping into their empathy. They know how to make their women feel cherished and don't need her for her labor. He enjoys her company, not just what she can do for him. She isn't a substitute for his mom and he's not with her just to have someone to change his diaper when he's old. He knows he can't find a replacement for her and knows that no amount of money and no ring will bring her back into his life if he takes her for granted and she chooses to leave him. To him, she is one-of-a-kind. He is careful with her, respects her, and knows there are lines he should never cross with her. He takes her seriously and considers her feelings because he cares about her. He is her partner, not just her man. I'd really like to see a video about the men that men love to dump on. All the nice guys hate him because he's what they pretend to be, along with chad and tyrone, but unlike chad and tyrone, the "simp" is just a normal guy who treats his woman well. He is real and we all know a few of them. He's not an imaginary rival that nice guys claim all women flock to. He's being picked by smart women who want partners. A lot of times, nice guys will exaggerate what he does for his woman, calling it over-the-top and excessive. Insecure men will try to gaslight him into seeing the "truth" about how he's being taken advantage of by a selfish woman, but he knows how he's treating her is the right way. He doesn't care when other men tease and belittle him, because his wife is happy and tells him how blessed she is to have him and that's all that matters to him. He's the guy men should be told to try to be instead of attack and shame. He's the one with the ring on his finger and a smile on his wife's face.

Sir, I know a quite a few women who would fall under the category of "tradwife" although they don't use that term since it is pretty new and they've been married for years. Homeschooling is a great place to meet them. These are women who homeschool, cook from scratch, have animals and make their own pet food and grow their own animal feed, make their own dairy products, mend clothes, make clothes, are heavily involved in their church, etc. They don't wear make up or get their nails done. They can quote scripture on how to be a good wife (usually Proverbs 31 but also Ephesians, Corinthians, etc). They are not "hot" although some are pretty. Makeup isn't "godly" to them because it is vain. They are upholding the traditional values of their religion, not just upholding standards of 1950s propaganda. I'm not saying men don't leave their wives for younger women. I am well aware that happens. Trophy wives often do no labor. It messes up their hair and makeup. They have no time for labor because they are working out, getting massages, manis, pedis, skin treatments, hair treatments. They tend to have "help" that does all the labor. Did you interview anyone who falls under the tradwife or trophywife category for this? How many people in your life fall under either category?@@JericoSerious

If the 4B mvt is about women uniting and like an oil cartel, withhold physical intimacy until there is a ring, (or better a marriage) so that men level up (which they would be forced to do) and grant the commitment that women want, then the 4B makes sense. Men are highly motivated by the possibility of physical intimacy with a woman they love. But if 4B is about just giving up on men entirely and a desire to burn everything to the ground, then this is ultimately self-defeating and demonic. Everyone loses.

White pick-me's are homely. They hate women who dress up. Class and race are HUGE in this, so it is NOT a "one to one" scenario. White girls are still hating on "Cool Girls", thinking they are faking it, and not noticing that Megan Fox, Jennifer Lawrence and Dolly Parton all came from a similar area. In THEIR case, their makeup was rebellious, not a sign of caving into the wishes of men. But outside of Appalachia, and that heavy religious influence, the reasons for it get obscured.

And at the same time, I can also see that all of those women that I named, are more plastic than I would ever want to be. You simply cannot argue that they invented this form of "glamour", and that's why it seems suspicious. Like bowing to some other, Hollywood man, instead of the rural, country men, and calling this "freedom". It's misguided, but also, obvious, if a woman doesn't start from the position of de-centering men, entirely.

For folks that are no-ones type and can never get anything romantic or sexual there needs to be conversation about teaching people who are in such situations that they may never find someone and thats fine. Im tired of seeing shit where people say "Youll find someone, its okay", and all that other bullshit. Its physically impossible for EVERYONE to find love. Not everyone is gonna find "the one" and there will be people that will find no one, and they need to be taught that they gotta live with that and that theyll be fine. If you lived most of your life alone youll probably be fine for the rest of it. Sure itll suck that you cant experience what so many other can/have but you cant get everything you want in life.

We have quite a lot of evidence that all able bodied members of a group hunted and gathered, regardless of sex or gender. We also know rhat, biologically speaking, the female body is actually better suited to traditional endurance hunting than the male body is.
