People always think that if people do not think like them then that means they are dishonest. Leafy was not a good person and was toxic. Just because other people are not saying toxic stuff, doesn't mean they are hiding their toxicity or that they are afraid to tell the truth. Truth is relative. It depends what is true to some and what is not. Some people do not feel strongly for these people who got "ridiculed" by Leafy and some did. You most likely did feel strongly so you purposely wanted to see those types of people fail, and when Leafy ridiculed them, you finally felt like someone was so brave enough to stand out like that. While the truth is he was just toxic alongside with you most likely. While I'm sure some people were "cowards" and felt strongly but just said nothing, most people would just not be toxic for the sake of not being toxic, nothing to do with cowardice.

Honestly I didn't like Leafy, I felt like he went for some looooow fruit even when I was in high school, I thought his content was lazy. While I dont think he deserved it, he didn't grow and he didn't adapt. So no im not shocked at this, but it was 100% biased when channels like Mini Lad, Onision and others are still running rampant. And even I have to admit that to an extent he kept communities in check at times, but base level it was kinda toxic

It's not really that bold. The videos that got him banned for example on Pokimane were not even about her. The one that WAS about her was just jokes and calling it like it was, hence it was well recieved. The video he dropped before he took his break on matthew santoro was just calling out his latest crying video

I honestly don't understand how people don't get the "it's youtube right to do this if they want to" argument. Nobody is saying "I'm so happy this happened" and even if they did before and after righting that comment that comment would still be true because when they say that point its literally just stating a literal fact. Think about KZread like any company if you go into your Local Walmart and start making fun of the children there and start mocking people in the store with a bunch of your friends you're gonna get kicked out. They have the right to refuse service especially after signing an agreement that says you can be kicked out if you act a certain way. The people who respond "just because it's their right doesn't make it right" are completely missing the point because their just responding to the point they made that doing this is breaking their first ammendment rights. They're moving the goal post and I think intentionally so.

@Arcadius 1. You completely missed my point if you still think having the right to refuse service is still breaking the first ammendment because again. Every. Company. Has. The. Right. To. Refuse. Service. Especially if you sign an agreement that says they're allowed to kick you out if you don't act they way they want you to. 2. I'm not bullsh*ting I literally said in the comment "even if they did express that they don't like leafy before or after writing that comment it would still make that particular comment true because that particular comment is literally just stating a fact." Even if you have a bias against someone if you state a fact...it's still a fact. 3. You're moving the goal post again and using strawmen. I never said this situation was handled correctly or anything that has to do with that political argument you're trying to make.. I never said "they gave leafy 3 strikes why are you guys complaining" I said the fact is that they are allowed to take someone off their platform if they want to. That's is their right. Whether it's handled correctly or not that is their right. The actual law that holds that right says "a company big or small has the right to refuse service to ANYONE" so it could also be applied to people who don't even break the rules which is sh*tty but reality. They are not legally obligated to keep you or anyone on their platform if they don't want you on it because they own the platform.

@Arcadius to the person above you you're right on the nose I thought I couldn't explain it better but thank you for doing so haha by saying "they SHOULD uphold the first ammendment" is still saying they're breaking their freedom of speech when they aren't. After you sign an agreement saying you'll speak a certain way you lose that argument completely because you essentially willingly making a promise "I will not speak this way and if I do I allow you to kick me out" you're allowed make fun of people's appearances but don't be surprised if you get in trouble.. now you can disagree with that being in the terms of service but you signed it. It's over after Leafy accepted the terms of service. I understand that you disagree and are saying "they shouldn't do that" but again that doesn't make the fact that it's in the agreement any less true. It's still a fact. You have to accept that. That's my point and I even make it clear when I say that I'm not saying "I'm happy this is happening" when I state this fact in the first comment. In my opinion I liked it better when other youtubers policed themselves but that's not reality and getting mad at people who are stating that fact isn't doing anything about it.

Ummmm, they don’t even listen to their own rules though? You get three strikes then you’re out but Leafy had none, given no warning and was banned without a clear reason.

I would love to see landscape survive on today’s Leafy.

When I looked back my younger self, I can remember myself enjoying Leafy's content (the more I think about it, his content was cringe). Do I think he needs to be removed from YT, no, just a warning about his old content, since it's now "problematic". But Leafy now, before his ban, barely even dented the TOS.

Can we just take a moment to recognize how cordial and collected Ricky Berwick was through this whole drama?

Great job packing all the info in, I really like these long sagas.

I'd honestly like for Leafy to return. He wasn't that bad of a guy. And honestly, we could use more people like him. It's also because I don't support deplatforming.

Honestly, if you followed leafy during this time.. it was rough.. he lost all his content; no way to get it back.. there was another small channel.. that got no help.. his channel was banned and all his content and video gone.. its just a kid and he was in tears.. he just wanted his videos back... but no one is there to help him.. its bs

Bowblax, love ya man, but I'm gonna pull from the channel. I keep watching the vids to try and support, but listing to these people bitch at each other is irritating and I need to stop. All of the people project, deflect, pivot and push their own narratives that fit them. Leafy didn't deserve instant termination. Leafy never harassed from what I knew and watched, but he did tow the line. Still, anything spoken is free speech and should be kept alive. He never incited violence, nor did he encourage it. Therefore, nothing he said did any physical harm. He didn't attack sponsors, didn't continuously, no more than a few videos or so at a time, target one topic or individual. *(He also did include a disclaimer mentioning it was all satire and not to be taken seriously. These are there for a reason. Just like a channel about making water charges tells you not to do it at home, this absolves them from being the responsible party in law and should be considered FIRST in cases of actual harassments.)* If the internet, all social media, went by the same rules and actions in this instance, NO ONE would be online. These people supporting a platform not holding to their own rules are supporting "rules for the and not for me" mentality. Don't like the content, move the hell on. Seeing people I liked say dumb stuff is aggravating. I know people can change, but these people wont, it seems. Also, if you can't offer a rebuttal other than name calling or copypasta, you are not mature enough to talk on mature topics. Just saying. Turning a conversation around and calling out someone for being a hypocrite, fine. And using "lmao" or other slang/acronym, to try and get the last word is cringe. Should Leafy have been banned? Maybe. Should KZread have followed THEIR OWN PROCEDURE? Absolutely. Three strikes and out. Not instant ban. Too many whiny kids on the net.... I'm gonna go build a house in Minecraft.... Unwind....

@@azpiapi TLDR: Leafy wasn't treated right and we don't know why. If his content was too problematic, KZread should have used the system in place to try and correct his course before termination. Leafy may have been obnoxious in some ways, but his critique was sound and he was terminated unfairly. Leafy may not have been completely free from fault, but KZread did so much worse. People applauding this, are disgusting and should feel the scaring Leafy did.

So let me get this straight: KZread reinstated Leafy's videos after they were incorrectly removed on the basis of bullying. And the KZread changed their mind and deleted his whole channel for bullying.

I admit that I was never a fan of Leafy but I can't help but think that KZread is going to start going overboard with this. Just because you don't like someone dosen't mean you should silence them. Great job on the video.

There’s still quite a few old leafy vid reuploads up on YT, and they’re still pretty funny. I know his content would NEVER fly here again, but man was it fun while it lasted.
