It's weird how games like JD 2014 which came out 6/7 years ago feel like they have more effort put into them than the newer games :/ I feel like they focus too much on the graphics than they do the dances imo.

The choreos are more easy and repetitive now because now more people know about Just Dance and its in more devices (Idk it's what I think)

As much as I love Just Dance, the only thing that brothers me is the fact that the subscription is called just dance unlimited, yet it doesn't have all the songs from previous games. Sometimes if I'm that desperate I'll just dance to a choreography on KZread.

but why would they do that? remaking every single song takes up time and they're going to have to crunch the staff to remake it so the result will be poor or good, but the staff will still suffer. the current tracklist is fine.

a lot of the songs that aren't on jdu aren't there for reasons, like Rihanna's songs for copyright

Yes! The choreos are so sad 😭 I always see myself playing unlimited choreos because they are WAY more fun. Also yes! The background and the coaches are too “kid friendly” like I miss 2018 and bellow when they didnt care and just put normal choreos. Hope 2021 is better

Just Dance 4, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 were the best when 2019 came I wasn’t a fan after, now they’re making the coaches with white boarders and colorful backgrounds, the choreography’s have gotten even more repetitive ever since 2019 came out…

i think the white outline is for the background so they can be in contrast with it. which could explain why some coaches have no white outline

I'm betting that the JD team loves to introduce their fans to new songs; however, I think they're overdoing it nowadays.

Liam Bradley i agree but at the same time jd does have a budget for each game that they spend on costumes, choreographers, dancers and buying the songs for their games more popular songs in the game the worse the dancing and costumes are so they have to be careful how many popular songs cost so they can still have good costumes and dancing and songs that are unheard of could get the artists name out there to have their name go to more people

one of the reasons i think is for the decline is that they're expecting success so they can put out the bare minimum and expect success because they're used to it tbh.

They made JDs for Japan (And Korean), Kids, and etc. But somethings telling me that they're running out of resources and funds to produce seperate games, which is why they're starting to decline in music. (I don't necessarily mind the unfamiliar songs though, everyone has different music tastes)

tbh whenever i start jd20 i literally play jdu, main track list is good (30/10) and when i get bored, and that happens literally after 20 mins of gameplay i turn on my 360 and play jd4 and 2014, and i can play them for over an hour without getting bored at all. JD4 and 2014 where awesome and everything after 2017 went downhill imo.

Most of the 2020 songs...srs the song list is almost awful. Another thing is the Ubisoft server! So annoying.

Because the quality have decrease, too many silly choreos, silly songs etc. jd 2014/4 was the best era. It is so kids focused

jd4 was the best one imo it was the only one i could say that i strongly remember and actually had fun playing it

I agree with all of them but I'm a bit disappointed it's because of the song choices. Because Jd always forgets the black people I mean they don't make that music like R&B Soul and the others it's a bit unfair cus I love R&B and I think many people love R&B. And yeah I'm hoping jd 2021 is gonna be a good game!

Dav I understand where you’re coming from, but after checking out a few R&B songs I feel like a lot if them are about sex, drugs and murder which is too inappropriate for Just Dance. And when it comes to soul I think it’s just too slow for a dance game

Good video I agree with everything except two things. 1. The backgrounds: this is more of a personal taste, since i loved the actual backgrounds, but i don't believe that less colors will make the game more atractive to older people, it will only look edgy or dull. Also i think that the colors are more to represent the wackyness and energy of the saga more that for kids because less colors=/= more mature 2. The choreos/difficulty: Apart from fancy ( which is not that bad, lets be honest) the Game has always been this repetitive with the moves, since is targeted to younger people or casual players. For example: #thatPower, Jump on the line, Umbrella, Run the Show, Wild Wild West (both classic and extreme). Don't take this as a defense for the saga's flaws, since it can use some improvement, and more of an opinion ok

Old just dances are so much better and prettier i miss where have u been by Rihanna soo much but. They don't even add it to unlimited

The no. 1 reason the newer games are bad to me is the song list. Back in the day we had popular artists like Rihanna, jlo, Chris brown and other worldwide popular arists on the main Tracklist and if you take jd4 or jd14 for example the games had mostly songs that were popular in that year (with jd4 that was call me maybe, moves like jagger and so on) and also other songs that were popular in general (like time of my live or something). With the new jd games (basicly since the introduction of jdu) the games have less popular songs like that and more random and unknown songs (hangover, keep in Touch, that milosc something song) or even random songs like can can or camen wich arent even really dance songs at all. If you think about it People mostly decide on buying these kinds of music/party games based on the songs the game has to offer and with recent jd games there are really not many popular songs, in the case of jd20 its maybe 4 or 5. I mean jd14 had 47 songs with 95% of them beeing super popular worldwide and now the game is mostly unknown songs. I don't mind it as much if there are easier routines additionally to the harder routines but with recent jd routines the variety in the dances just got worse and worse, like i would say call me maybe is like an easy-ish routine for jd4 standards and now fancy by twice isnt even considered easy, it's "medium"... i guess those arm swings are too hard to do for 30 sec in a row. But thats not the only example (i know a lot of People hate on it), Bad guy or 7 rings are the same. With new jd games they do focus more on the looks of the routines with more unique backgrounds and costumes. If you take The Time from jd20 for example i love how the Routine looks, the bg is really Amazing and the costumes look great as well but i rarely play the routine because i think the choreo is way to boring. Last thing i want to mention is that i feel like they focus the game on the wrong audience. I would say jd is mostly a game for teens and young adults but especially with kids Mode and the routines beeing so easy it feels like the game is more made for that age group. Im playing the game for allmost 8 years or so and i dont like to see one of my favourite games just getting worse and worse because of that

Lol that 7 rings choreo was so trash though.2019 had like 2 chores that I loved but Unlimited really carried it. I ran out of the free trial and left the game.

The just dance game I loved the most was 2014 I think. The 2020 one I only dance the same 4 songs

Here are my opinions on all of these: Choreographies: I personally think complaining about the choreographies is stupid and a bit disrespectful to the choreographers who worked hard to make said dances. I've never really noticed repetitiveness either TBH. JDU: I mean, I think the prices are ridiculous, but that's all I complain about. The fact that people genuinely believe you NEED Just Dance Unlimited to fully enjoy a Just Dance game is just sad. You have about 40 levels EVERY SINGLE GAME that are ALL UNIQUE AND NEW TO THE SERIES! Sure, it's annoying that I have to pay in order to play "Am I Wrong" but playing it isn't a big deal. If you want to play old levels, BUY THE OLDER GAMES. The first 4 are the best in the series anyway, so why would you not get them? Childish Maps: I mean, I don't like this too much either, but if the Kids Choice Awards has taught me anything, it's that a large amount of Just Dance's fanbase is made up of children. Yes, levels like Baby Shark and the Kids levels didn't NEED to be made, but I think Ubisoft added them because a lot of the game's players are kids. Songlist: I'm sorry but I HAVE to complain about these. They are just getting worse and worse. Now, you barely ever get good songs anymore! There are a ton of wonderful songs and artists that are being passed up just so Ariana can get her millionth song in the series. I remember when I got just dance 2016 I saw a code and put on the eshop and got just dance unlimited for free it lasted for 3 months

I would love to know why there isn't a single Melanie Martinez song in the new games. Especially since she came out big last year with her new album.

honestly, I’m probably alone with this opinion but for me just dance didn’t went downhill. we got more not popular song but is it that bad? get busy, fancy footwork, bad boy, sushi, many songs I didn’t know before are my favourites, and I don’t understand why you call all maps childish. con altura, i am the best, kill this love and many more get so cool, diverse and bossy themes. we don’t get that much content like we used to but I think that stuff we get now is still really good and months after premiere I still play jd20 often and don’t get bored.

What bugs me is how Just Dance 2018 had a 3 month free trial of JDU but the newer ones give you only 1 month 😤😤😤😤

If people are going to complain about the Just Dance Unlimited subscription service, at least they lowered the prices and made it free for 1-month. I see nothing to complain about, and it only costs around $20 a year, which isn’t too expensive, unlike the prices when it first began in Just Dance 2016.

1 reason why I don't like just dance is that I feel like the game is catering way too much to children. some songs are just too heavily censored so it just gives the game a childish vibe

I got just dance 2020 for my Nintendo switch (which on its own is hella expensive) then I have to do this subscription thing which lasts for about a month. So the games really good until ur free trial is up and then you either have to pay loads for all the songs or you can only have like 20 songs most of which I don’t like. So it kinda sucks tbh. I miss playing just dance on the wii at primary school on the odd occasion. RIP good just dance

Despite what people may say about 2019 and 2020 I’m still getting it bc I’m trying to play all of them

My favorites are 2014 and 2017 but 2019 is really messy and hard to use like it was REALLY disappointing

The kid friendly backgrounds and the dances being to easy doesn't really bother me

I honestly think jd 2 and 3 are the best ones

Honestly, they should go back to making Just Dance Kids, and for the last one, its not like its only America or English speaking countries that play JD, therefore the team does their best to add other songs that aren't in English and they're doing their best to be diverse with the songs and not just add songs that are popular in America.

Just Dance started going downhill after the 4th one lmao after they released more, my childhood crumbled after that.

I think the final point is more about the lack of old songs

Damn I miss JD 3 and 4

I used to be a huge fan of the series however it's been declining. So first off the Choreos are lame nowadays and a lot of the songs sound the same and are annoying and I don't know any of them and DEAR GOD they're overdoing it with the bright colors and sometimes the backgrounds are flat out distracting. Like Don't Stop Me Now was great but the background was fugly. The reason it's still selling is because people are absolute yesmen to Ubisoft and can't realize when it's going downhill. They're all saying "oH tHeY aRe JuSt HaTeRs" but back in my day Just Dance was fun and could be considered a workout. You could go on any song and it'd be fun and nice to listen to. Nowadays it's just shit that only stays afloat being people blindly follow it.

I loved “it’s raining men” because the choreo was good. I can’t remember if it was jd2015 or jd2014

Hey do you play the just dance look like get up and dance.

The song list of 2022 is absolute bomb and I thought the crappy song lists were the reason JD got boring after 2019. Too many trendy songs for that year so the replay value for many of the games was fairly bad, since they lacked nostalgia. Also with JDU being a thing, it does delete the replay value of previous titles.

I’m young and when I play JD I always play the kids ones last because the bg and the choreos

Unlimited is actually needed for playing JD 2020 I barely play any song from the actual game

I say we all email ubisoft about the childish maps because i think that's the biggest reason that people just stopped playing just dance

I'm 11 and I have the same opinion on childish maps as well. Also my favourite just dance games are 4 , 2014-2018

I agree with the childish maps I've been playing just dance for 10 years now or so and i never really liked them when they started coming out

17 and 18 were the best era, prove me wrong

I red a review and it said they saw a inappropriate move I’m a kid and I do see that but I will not say inappropriate I will just say you don’t need that move they are kids on this game it even said a it’s for everybody so I do not get but it’s the same with Roblox it saids for everybody but it has games with killing like murder mistery, piggy, And much more so I don’t get but I’m a kid so I’m learning

i think some old games had childish maps too, so there's no problem with that for me (and i love milosc w zakopanem)

What about getting megastar on just dance dance floor and not getting the golden face

Maps problem is kinda fix in 2022. All that needs fixing is just UI. We need new UI.

I hateee the backgrounds in the newer games. They’re extremely distracting if you play a dance for the first time. I get that they want some colorful backgrounds, but only do that for like 3-5 of the dances. Like Bum Bum Tam Tam kinda had a reason for the craziness in the background. Also, I genuinely don’t mind the childish dances. For me, it’s more of a game I play with my friends to laugh. I do think that there are wayyy too many tho

Tbh, I feel like no kid plays this game lol like I’m not a kid and I’m addicted to this game I do t even know why they have just dance kids like no one plays it

kids do play just dance but just not the jdkids section, i think jdkids is intended for a really young audience.

What else I don’t like about Just Dance is covered versions!

The thing about the fox is that it’s the official mascot of Pinkfong, it’s like complaining about the Disney songs or Ghostbusters/Emoji Movie tracks having their characters. As to the repetition in choreography, I do understand to an extent. The UI isn’t the best for sight-reading purposes, so being able to get your bearings by sticking to a move for a few measures can help. As long as there’s a balance or the moves themselves have some spice to them (e.g. I actually like that move in Taki Taki especially if you try to nail the leg movements) I can be forgiving.

I think the reason people complain about Jdu is not because u have to pay for it but it’s because a dancing game which costs like £40 shouldn’t need to have an online subscription which I can agree on I think it’s stupid how a dancing game is trying to shove in a streaming service that no body who she’s to pay for. Unlimited should just be free or unlocked after hitting a certain level
