It's amazing that they hit each other in the face with a metal chair, it looks reasonably real, and not a single drop of blood comes out. Try that with your friends and you'll see the amount of training that goes into it. Then look at the leaps they do into each other's heads. Do you know in how many ways that could go wrong and end up with one of them seriously hurt? It's like watching someone in a flying trapeze. Sure, the person is just jumping from here to there, but really look into it and you'll see.

Rousey was way overrated from the outset. Look at UFC 184. Cat Zingano ran right her with her arm outstretched, like she was trying to have Rousey grab it and use her armbar. When Holly Holm beat her, Rousey cried about it, going on Oprah's couch to whine and talk about Travis Brown. She didn't try to get a rematch against Holm. Instead, she waited until Holm was beaten by Amanda Nunes to try to reclaim her title, which didn't make sense because she didn't lose her title to Nunes. When she lost again, she quit and ran away from the UFC because she was smart enough to understand that her opponents figured out that if they don't run at Rousey with their arm stretched out like Cat Zingano and can throw a decent punch, they will always defeat her. She tried so hard to be this pop culture icon, sharing fan art on Twitter portraying her as a super saiyan, but she never acted like a true saiyan because the second she would lose or take criticism, she'd make tons of excuses for herself. I'm so glad that people finally see her bullshit. She was nothing more than an egotistical bully who was afraid to fight anyone who legitimately beat her. The best way to remember her is to look at that one clip from professional wrestling where she was "punching" that guy against the turn buckle. For a supposedly professional fighter, she couldn't even make her punches look decent.

2:20 - You nailed it. Bethe Correia had the perfect style for Rhonda, and when Rhonda took her out, it went entirely to her head (not that her head wasn't big before) but she got in a single good punch and good knee to a BJJ specialist made her think she was a great striker. One thing you didn't point out is after losing to Holm, Rousey supposedly worked on her boxing. But when she fought Nunes it was painfully clear her boxing skills were absolutely horrible, she actually looked worse than in the lose to Holm. She looked like they just pulled some random person from the audience her boxing looked so bad.

Bit of context for her last UFC fight. Agree it was the worst thing that happened because she thought she was a boxer (hard not to when RING puts you on the cover) and not a Ronda fan, just an MMA fan. Her opponent mocked the Ronda’s dad’s suicide and that Ronda admitted to crying after losing out on the gold medal (from reading Ronda’s first book, not me, her opponent did). Ronda says “don’t cry” after the KO because that’s what Bethe screamed at her during the weigh ins. It was the holm fight where everything collapsed

I recall running into Ronda Rousey while flying back from Kauai over 10 years ago. She was just becoming a thing in UFC, so I didn't recognize her at first. Apparently she was on the island for a Sports Illustrated photo shoot. Why it stood out to me at the time was due to the fact she was in line in front of my family and I, yelling at the airline customer service reps to get her boyfriend a First Class ticket next to her despite the flight being full and they had no seats to do so. Her boyfriend had an Affliction T-shirt on (of course) and they later sat in the boarding area looking all irritated and annoyed. Based on what I read and see about her, this makes total sense! 🤔🙄

Rousey was put up against tomato cans, relatively speaking, for much of her UFC career. Fighters who couldn't seem to keep her at a distance letting her close in and spam armbar like a regional-tourney Street Fighter scrub spamming Bison's sliding low HK. And then she confronted a fighter whose actual skills matched Rousey's mouth in Holly Holm. I think the UFC is complicit in creating this mess. We even had FiveThirtyEight publishing puff pieces about why Rousey is, statistically speaking, the most amazing athlete to ever exist. Rousey just believed her own hype. And she never looked at herself with a skeptical eye. It's kind of sad because she is a great athlete.

Man the warning signs... when she came out and actually said 'MMA striking is different and I think I'm the best at it' - right there it was clear she was in a lot of trouble with the other strikers coming in. Even with the fighters she was wrecking easily early in her career it was super clear she wasn't even a good striker amongst them. If we make the argument that grapplers have an advantage against strikers because they aren't afraid of being taken down where strikers are (and that this gives them the advantage of being able to take more chances striking) she still clearly didn't have any striking chops. The fact that she was seemingly actually thinking that she could keep up with Holly or Amanda was such an air raid siren warning. It's likely they'd still have beaten her but if she'd been more aware of those limitations and fought smarter she'd have had a much better time of it. Parental pressure, dangerous ego and really, really bad coaching I guess?

the fact she claimed she could beat male MMA fighters is hilarious. but keep in mind whenever you watch that particular clip, with her big derpy face comically tilted to one side and not moving an inch, and her arms flailing with all the coordination of a toddler throwing a tantrum...some claimed she'd beat Mayweather. 🤣

Pro wrestling may be scripted but it combines bodybuilding and athleticism, along with acting and theater. The bodybuilding, athleticism, acting, and theater are all real and the amount of time and dedication the pro wrestlers put in to that is immeasurable. Here the best way to sum up Ronda’s career in MMA and WWE 1. When she first started out, she used her world class judo to win, which was the best strategy and no one at the time had a way to counter it which led to an undefeated record 2. She then got a new coach that had a bigger ego than her and told her to focus on her striking, which was massively lacking, instead of what had been working for her 3. Her ego and confidence in her striking got an even bigger boost when she knocked out Beth Correa in less than a minute in the first round 4. Her ego was on full display on her UF season opposite of Misha Tate who called her out for having less than average striking ability which led to her basically crying to her coach because Misha bruised her ego 4. Then the Holly Holm fight happened where she talked shit saying her winning was guaranteed to win and then she decided to stand up against a world champion kickboxer and was crushed in 40 seconds where she put up literally no offense (was considered a huge upset at the time but in hindsight wasn’t that surprising) 5. Then comes the Amanda nunes fight where she gets destroyed again by the actual GOAT of women’s MMA so badly she leaves the sport entirely Then here comes her tenure in WWE 1. Gets signed and makes her “debut” at the royal rumble to a great reception despite not spending a lot of time in development like almost all pro wrestlers do 2. She starts out decent and looks good in her first few matches 3. Gets one of the main event titles and has a decent run 4. It then comes out that she had been complaining to anyone that would listen about the rigorous schedule that comes with the job 5. Fans started to catch on that her matches looked good because the women she was wrestling were elite at their job and made her look way better than she actually was 6. She couldn’t handle the fans booing her because she couldn’t understand she was the bad guy in this storyline (you would think she would know that would happen before signing with them) 7. Then she acted like wrestling was beneath her despite being signed to wwe 8. Lastly wwe finally caught on that she wasn’t over with the fans and she really had no interest in anything outside of a paycheck so they shelved her until she was finally released Also she is 10000000000000% jealous of Logan Paul’s success Ronda rousey really needs a reality check

The problem is that she believed in that hype; she was living the character. To a point, u had people gassing her to fight Floyd Mayweather. Ronda story is tragic because, for better or worse, she helped A LOT womans MMA. Now that her ego shielded a very mentally weak person, once she fell hard, she didn't have the tenacity to stand up. Its crazy to think that something like the UFC or even WWE is supposed to humble you. Brock Lesnar's first MMA fight, he was cocky and thought he could beat Mir and got his ass absolutely handed to him. Sure, he was confident in his abilities, but he wasn't this guy who would boast about how he was unbeatable. In an interview, he even admitted to how he didn't know what happened and that Cain Velasquez beat his ass fair and square. I saw a comment that said "Brock probably grew up as this big bully and was finally humbled when he went of against people who were more skilled and bigger than him". If Ronda learned that same humility, she would've been loved by fans and fighters alike.

Unfortunately she built her entire identity on being an undefeated MMA fighter. After Holm, it all came crashing down, and caused her to have an irrational identity crises. Most fightets would accept defeat and come back stronger, but she internalised her losses so much, she was never the same.

And her acting all tough talking about "pro wrestlers can't fight 300 times in a year for real" after she blamed taking three fights in one year as one of the reasons she lost to Holm. Someone should remind her old school UFC and PRIDE FC days the fighters could possibly fight three times in ONE NIGHT! She's not a "real fighter" just a great judaka who got incredibly lucky to get into women's MMA at the perfect time when the skill level was extremely low........that and she avoided fighting the only two other greats of her era Cyborg and Carano. I believe both these women would have derailed the hype train before it left the station.....who knows, it might have humbled her and she may have developed a well rounded game and had more longevity had she tasted adversity before people like Dana and Rogan told her she can beat any man on the planet.

She talks about how FAKE Wrestling is yet her book is as delusional as any match or story could be. Wrestling fans know what Wrestling is, alienating potential fans by making fun of it is why fans turned on her. She only has herself to blame for ever failure. Logan Paul is disliked outside the ring by man people. Inside the ring and on the show he is liked by a majority because he gets it and puts work in. It is annoying because I wish he was more like Ronda as I hate that he is as good as he is. Ronda will be forgotten and sadly Logan is bound for a Hall of Fame and to be remembered. The only power Ronda has now is to spew hate and get people fired for lies.
