Why not both? Cognac and Whiskey! (New York Sazerac)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Why not have it both ways? That's apparently what they thought down under whey they created this split base Sazerac with both Rye Whiskey and Cognac. And you know what? It works.

Made this just now. The lemon & absinthe really help out the flavor of the cocktail. Love it!

Sagamore Rye, my local favorite. Thanks for using a Maryland Rye in a New York Sazerac. It's only fitting since maryland Rye used to be favored in most parts of the world when this cocktail was created.

Split base was originally known as medical strength but it was 1.5 oz of rye and .5 oz of cognac as the original was all cognac they rye adds a medicinal quality

The rye and ango bitters clashes with the brandy, absinthe. I guess I'm a purist
