    Oh yeah. Homework: I've been making those a lot of times for my kids. Sometimes the amount of homework is more than the actual hours in school. For reference; I'm danish and I lived there (Philippines) for 13+ years, have 4 kids. Basic school might be "free" but it's expensive (dresscode, book covers, insane project using weird materials/papers that you can't find anywhere except ONE place where it cost a fortune). And, except for primary school, the children needs "baon" for "food" (aka snacks).

    Tagalog is from the Austronesian language group so it makes sense that it is more difficult for a Filipino to learn English.. For someone from a Germanic language country like Norway or the Netherlands it's way more easy to learn English.
