Kip in this video: Me, who has never played a tcg ever: I like your funny words magic man.
Is that THE legendary Yugituber Doug "Why nobody plays" Zeef?
Technically slifer did get an extra deck retrain via Ascension Sky Dragon, but they didnt revisit the concept
I remember in Duel Links when Obelisk was the boss of Fur Hires when they came out (barely after they were introduced in the physical game).
Me, who wasn't aware Kip was also a Yugioh guy watching this.
Honestly it would be cool if they retrained the Egyptian Gods and gave them their anime protection, it would definitely make them much more playable but they wouldn't be these impossible to out boss monsters. With the anime protection they would even have a unique niche of being Kaiju proof.

I think a retrain of them would be super cool.
Obelisk is the only really reliable of the Egyptian god cards. But adding it to your is a major gamble, as it is a very situational card and you have to draw. Also building your deck around an Egyptian god card is really just a bad idea compared to other decks.
Bujins were fun first locals I won was with bujins yamato core before the rest were released
Oh hey Kip, you got me to watch the Yu-gi-oh anime (I'm around episode 75), but I haven't seen Ra yet... and I noticed that the real power of the monsters in the anime is not their special effect or how much Life Point damage they can inflict... It is the Emotional Damage... be it in a normal duel or a shadow duel...
Yeah, interesting to see this. Given the only version of these monsters I knew were the original ones that were tournament banned. And you know, when you needed to play down the 5 pieces of obelisk to then do the fusion or whatever. And where slifer's ability was just like, "if opponent summons monster, attack it automatically" or whatever and it's attack wasn't tied to cards in hand if I remember.
Rituals suck which is unfortunate because if they didn’t Melodic angels and cyber angels actually run smoothly together
My favorite experience with the Egyptian God cards was sending somebody's Obelisk back to their hand five turns in a row with Ordeal of a Traveler
My aunt got my the Slifer started deck for me q mouth ago
it's "Mega Ultra Chicken"
either the egyptian gods get a retrain or more support
Personally I don't see anything wrong with branded, you wanna get your fusion materials back from the grave, go ahead. Am I going to hate going against it? Absolutely. Am I going to hate someone for it? Not at all. Am I gonna complain about a pred deck using my monsters to fusion summon while branded gives THEIR fusion material back. You better believe it, but that's just because I am too shortsighted/unknowledgeable to counter it
Wait... Can't negate their summon? I might just be overthinking things because I've seen these cards get negate and destroyed upon their summon in Master Duel so much the few times I've seen them get used. Obelisk primarily I've seen get negate destroyed in Master Duel during their summon... Wait... "Normal Summon can't be negated" KONAMIIIIIII
I don't play, forgive ignorance. Is there a way to bring a creature from a graveyard back into play sidestepping the summoning cost? Magic the Gathering does.

Edit from above. Bring back from graveyard without penalties

You're fine! Even if you played there so many cards and interactions. If you are going to Summon a monster back from the Graveyard, it must have been Summoned properly first. You see this a lot with Extra Deck Monsters like Links, Synchros, and Fusiobs with their respective mechanics. If I pitch a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon to my Graveyard without properly Summoning it first, I can't Monster Reborn it. Due to a lack of play in my area, there may be new cards that may inherently bring something back ignoring cost and Summonibg Conditions, but examples are outside of my immediate card pool. There's " A Wild Monster Appears! " which is a Spell Card that can ignore Summoning Conditions, but these effects aren't exactly common. Hopefully this helped somewhat!

@@KipReacts thank you, that does. Magic has several cards that could bring cards from graveyard that were discarded and not used in play. (Not just creature cards)
A I love branded

As someone with zero presence in Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, what is branded?
@Felnal

@@Blitzwaffen "Branded" is an archetype of Spells/Traps (and one Fusion Monster) that are primarily used to support the Fusion-based playstyles of "Fallen of Albaz" and the "Despia" archetype, as well as support for the "Bystial" archetype. The card "Branded in Central Dogmatika" technically works with the "Dogmatika" archetype, but that's mainly for lore reasons.
