Your dad needed his mum, so he called her home. Be consoled with the fact that they are together. In my family whenever a member passes on we say, "They went to the cabin." It is a very long story so i will try make it short, but it started in 1972 when a great aunt who lived in New Jersey died (far too young), a cousin in California claims to had a dream that very morning when she passed and she told him that she was going to heaven to build a cabin and when the cabin was done, someone from across the river (in NY) would come to join her. 8 years later the next person to pass away was my grandfather (he lived across the river in NY), and when my cousin called to say, "He's gone to the cabin to be with Aunt Francis."....It consoled me to believe that they were together. Through the years as we lost more of our elder generation we would say, "There is a huge party at the cabin!" and when my grandmother passed we joked that those who where already in the cabin better hide the booze because, "here comes the General!" I won't go into how another great aunt (Dorothy) spent 20 minutes talking to a fly on the day of my grandfathers funeral and when asked, she said, "I'm talking to Peter!" Peter was my grandfathers name. She was always...ummmm...unique, but lets just say, since we were kids at the time...we don't kill any flies and shoo them away and out of the house!!! :) (sorry for the lengthy post..I am, after all, a long winded Greek from NY.)

I love this story! How comforting! What a fabulous cabin that sounds Lisa! And such a beautiful way to look at it all, one day we will all be reunited with our loved ones and hey it'll be one heck of a party huh xxx

The "Cabin" gives me a great deal of comfort and has given us a lot of laughs during our moments of grief. Each person who is now at the "cabin" had a very distinct personality and that they are all together now....oh boy! :)

I lost my grandpa a few years ago, very very suddenly. He was my biggest supporter, my father figure, my safe place. I miss him every day, I miss his big hug, his words of wisdom, his old stories even when I've heard them a million times. I will always miss him, but I always will have him in my heart. I try to make him proud, study hard and I know he is proud of me. I feel your pain, I really do...my thoughts are with you. Maybe your gradmma is with my grandpa talking about old times and being proud of us in a much, much better place. Love from Greece.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I completely understand when I lost my grandpa it was very hard. I still miss him and it's been about eleven years.

How fortunate you are to have made that video with your grandma before she passed on! I so wish I had footage of me with my mom before she died. Please take what ever time you need to get your strength back and yes, I would love for you to share that video with us because she wanted us to meet her! We love you Becky...the joy will come back - just relax and let it back in to your life as that would make your grandma very proud, I'm sure of it.

you look really broken right now, please take the time you need to heal. don't skip the grieving process. I have a tiny family too when my dad died it felt so small, makes me panic,I need to find some good friends xx

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my grandmother suddenly Christmas Eve just 6 weeks ago, it wasn't expected at all. She was only 69 and I just got a call midday Christmas Eve to say she has passed away. I feel your pain completely. My thoughts are with you.

Take all the time you need dear Becky! Don't feel sorry for not posting videos. No one expects you too and you've been through a lot lately. Your grandmother sounds very similar to my gorgeous nana that passed away in 2011 when I was 15. I miss her all the time she was the most selfless and kind little lady ever and my mum had a dream where she came to her and said heaven is beautiful and that she takes walks along the beach with her own mum and walks through the colourful gardens. I'm sure your lovely grandmother will be doing the same. sending love xox

I'm so so very sorry Becky. You've gone through an unspeakable amount of hard times in the last few years and I can't imagine how it feels to lose your connection to your dad. I am sure they are both so proud of you and you are incredibly brave to make a video about what you are going through. +TalkBeckyTalk grief is so mentally and physically stripping, i know when i lost my grandad or 'pops' as we used to call him, it was such a massive chunk out of our lives and nothing prepares you for it, so i totally understand that you need time so please please look after yourself and take as long as you need ❤️

This broke my heart. I am sending a hug to you from me, here in the U.S. So much of what you said mirrors my relationship with my grandmother and I swear it was almost as if you were speaking of her, except she doesn't text or even know how to operate a cell phone lol. I don't know what I will do when she passes and the thought of it terrifies me to no end. I look forward to getting to "meet" your grandma through the video when you are ready to post it and am grateful that you are sharing her with all of us. When I find myself really missing someone who is no longer with us and wanting to talk to them I write them a letter. I find the process to be very therapeutic for me, so I'm sharing that with you in hopes that maybe it will help you as well. My heart is with you and yours. ❤️

so sorry for your loss becky...i was also raised by my dear grandparents...i love them and grateful for all the love and sacrifices they made for me and my other siblings...couldnt tell them and show them how much im thankful and how much i love them cuz they are all gone now with my big bro they all together now in a better place...family is never the same anymore without them but i just hold on to the memories we had,what they taught me,and just pray...

i can understand a little of what your going through 3 years ago i lost my granddad after a very quick battle with cancer and not only was he my last grandparent left but we where very close and for the longest time i felt lost and empty knowing he wasn't going to be around anymore but over time i found comfort in knowing that i was lucky to have him in my life and i always treasure the memories we shared. so take all the time in the world as were all be here to support you when the time is right for you xx

Dear Becky thank you so much for sharing this. I lost my aunt last week as well. I understand that feeling you are talking about that emptiness inside. Know that I love you and even though we are on different parts of the world know that you have so many people who care and love you.
