Oh HELL NO. The sound of a V8 engine at speed is one of the draws to stockcar racing. If NASCAR ever goes to electric motors, it will be the begining of the end for them. To sit and watch 43 cars silently going around a track where the only sound is the tires on the pavement ain't gonna fly with true NASCAR fans. I for one (former racer and long time NASCAR fan) will be doing something else come race day. And I'll bet I won't be alone. NASCAR started dying the day we lost DALE.

I understand the changes in cars and technology over the years, but to remove the core of the sport which is what you built around a V8 engine is sooner or later going to bite NASCAR right in the ass. If it goes green there most likely will be a whole different crowd in the stands. Also car owners.

The Hemi wasn't allowed in 65 because it was not available in production models. In 1966 it was. The Daytona and Super Bird were allowed in 71 but they were restricted to use a 305 cubic inch destroked 340. They actually performed really good on the shorter tracks and road courses were the handling was much better than big block cars. But the Charger and Road Runner body style also changed to some what match the Ford Torino. Some time in the mid 70s Nascar reduce the displacement limit from 429 to 400. Chrysler used the 383 enlarged to 400 cubic inches. No body gives two shits about electric race cars.

Dodge was not actually committed to running a next gen. They toyed with it, but Stellantis president has been pretty vocal about not supporting motorsports on a large scale. Dodge went away on their own after 2012 because of their lack of support for race teams and the costs associated due to that.. so they had no teams go with them in 2013.. this pulling their support. you do not actually know what you are talking about here. they were never allowed to bore up a 383 to a 400. stock car as it was called back then systematically. issued ruling after ruling in 1969-1974 that ONLY effected Chrysler . first starting with banning hemi spherical heads, chrysler was the only company that had hemi heads, so chrysler started putting the 440 in the cars. Nascar banned engines over 430 CI. ford was a 429 chevy was a 427 so the only car company effected was Chrysler. Chrysler tried to use the 383 but found it was underpowered for its weight and started loosing. Chrysler started putting the 340 cars out there and found that the 340s weight difference and its MUCH higher rpm made the car competitive by having a higher top end and better handling in the turns but were not dominating. some where in here nascar rulled that only small block engines could be used, that had the ford 351 and the chevy 350 with a 4 inch bore (this is important here so pay attention) the Chrysler 340 had a 4.04 bore. Chrysler starts dominating again. Ford and chevy cry, nascar rules that no engines can have a bore larger then 4.00. This shuts out the 340 which while a smaller engine has a bigger bore size. chrysler tries to use the 360 which has a 4.00 bore but is a truck crank so its slow to rev but has a fairly high rev due to the rocker arm design being the same as the 340. the 360 is winning races but not as much as the 340 and nascar issues the ruling that no engine can be over 355 inches in size which once again targets the chrysler products directly with out effecting anyone else. chrysler protest. tries to put a 318 in the cars and run them but the 318 is just not capable of running with a 351 windsor or a check 350 in a car the size of a roadrunner> Chrysler announces that due to clear and present favoritism by Bill France they will be Leaving Nascar. AT NO TIME WAS THE 340 EVER REDUCED TO 305 INCHS. There was no point in doing that and the 318 being virtually identical to a 340 but having thinner walls and a thinner bore for less weight could be reduced to 305 if they wanted to do such a thing. Chrysler was run out of nascar by BILL FRANCE SR.

My dad had a 69 Charger with a 383 mag and I owned a 71 charger and a 73 Charger. It's an insult to call a 4 door car a charger or even worse and electric one. This Green crap has gotten completely out of hand they are literally putting the cart before the house. It will be 20 to 30 years before they work out all the kinks in these electric cars. Biden shuts down 90% of the oil companies in the U.S.A. that had to abide by the most restrictive and clean ways of getting it and producing it to then buy it from other countries that don't have the same rules to follow about getting the oil as cleanly as possible as the U.S. did and begs them to ramp up production then they have to use super tankers that burn over 200 gallons of fuel an hour to even get it to the U.S.A. making even a bigger footprint than if we just continued to pump it cleanly. Plus, all the different minerals needed to make these new car batteries have to be STRIP MINED destroying huge sections of the earth. digging holes that in some cases are over a mile across so big you can see them from space and the land will never recover. Yet. the left thinks that's better than a oil pump in a grass field with cattle peacefully grazing around it. They are literally destroying many 3rd. world countries lands to dig out these minerals. Then once the batteries are dead they have to dig a hole and bury them because they are so dangerous and toxic for hundreds of years afterwards. Plus, these new electric car have been just catching fire in people's garages and burning their houses down. The same house that you can no longer heat because the power plants can't supply enough power to heat your home and charge your car. The don't charge in freezing weather either so you are without a car when the temps drop. Plus who wants to be riding around sitting on top of a bunch of batteries that sometimes just catch on fire for no reason. Ever see a cell phone battery blow up in someone pocket? Just think what a car sized battery will do. What about when it rains and the streets flood you can't just drive through the deep puddles like you can with your normal car you will fry it and probably yourself and family too. Plus, the Power plants that make the electricity run on coal or some other type of fossil fuel. The hole thing is a joke. We are now causing ten times the amount of carbon by not making it in the U.S.A. where we have to do it cleanly and buying it from a 3rd. world country than ship it here. Those ships can also make huge oil spills and destroy tons of marine and wildlife. Plus, all the American oil workers no longer have jobs to support their families but at least Russian citizens and many other countries citizens are working and can feed their families thanks to biden giving them our jobs. We used to be energy independent and wwe used to be a large energy exporter too now we are a joke to the rest of the world an biden has to beg OPEC to produce more oil. He also has been giving away and even sold 8 million barrels of our emergency oil reserve to CHINA. Oil that is set aside to fuel our military in the event America is ever attacked and to weaken our country even further biden is giving away billions of dollars worth our modern weapons and equipment First to our enemy the Taliban so they can have modern weapons to use against our troops and now to the Ukraine. He has given away so many of our tanks and other military vehicles that many of or troops no longer have enough tanks and stuff left to be deployed if we needed them,. That should scare the hell out of everybody. Giving our stuff away to the Taliban our enemy is literally TREASON . Plus, it wouldn't surprise me if Putin and the Ukraine are working together. The Ukraine builds many of Russia aircraft and naval ships. They could be getting all these countries to send all their modern military weapons and vehicles to the ukraine to replace all of their old outdated crap with our newest weapon systems. Then they will have all the new modern stuff they need while depleting all their enemies countries of their modern weapons. It's actually a brilliant idea. We have all seen how out of date all of Russia's weapons are. Plus, do you really think that the Ukraine would even give us a single dime if America was under attack or needed help? Not to mention the millions of dollars that Biden keep forking over to them and to Iran and many other countries that hate America. WHY?? What About the American TAXPAYERS when is biden going to help us? They are all criminals very very rich criminals that keep getting millions richer by the day as American citizens struggle to even put food on their table or fuel in their cars. Even if the jobs magically return now that we have millions on illegals waltzing across our border everyday where are they going to work? How are they going to find a home and feed their families? Crime is just going to keep skyrocketing just wait until they realize there aren't enough jobs and have to resort to stealing to feed themselves and their families and become desperate. The White House is now known as BOZOS BIG TOP AND FREAK SHOW to the rest of the world. But what did they expect when they installed Americas Biggest racist who once claimed blacks are an inferior race will fighting alongside his ex klan leader hero for Segregation in the 1970's. Back then we had Journalist on the nightly news who use to call him out for his disturbing remarks. Now they sweep them under the rug and hope people are to lazy to look up any of bidens old TV new footage. Now they protect POGO the democrat Clown N Chief. Only this POGO the clown likes little girls in the basement instead of young construction workers under his crawl space.

They all have to by 2035. All new vehicles have to be emissions free by then. Dodge has nothing to prove anymore. They have dominated every motorsport they competed in at one time or another and still own the premier top fuel NHRA classes. And are still...for now...king of the street muscle car wise. The Hemi engine is becoming outdated in its current form, plus a gas hog and emissions nightmare, and Dodge realizes it would be foolish to spend the money doing that now with such a short time left for ICEs. It's business common sense. So better buy that Challenger or Charger now.

Wasn’t it bad enough that NASCAR killed off the old smaller race tracks to expand to areas that never had NASCAR racing? Allowing GM to run the Monte Carlo and Pontiac with the aquarium rear window when you couldn’t purchase one as a street legal car. Ford with the Taurus and now a Nascar Mustang? There’s nothing stock about any of these cars. NASCAR wants asses in the mega buck seats not the infield where the real fans gathered. The crappy TV contracts where half way through the season, if you didn’t have cable, you didn’t see race. NASCAR is dying a slow self inflicted death.

For ‘86 and ‘87, GM did sell a limited number of Aerocoupes. That square-roofed G-body had the aero of a brick, and GM had to do something back in the day when homologation was still a thing - the Ford T-bird of the day was a slick little car … “Chevrolet only made the Aerocoupe for the 1986 and 1987 model years, 200 were made for 86 - the exact number needed for homologation, and 6,052 were made in 1987 due to the rising popularity of the model. Over 574,000 examples of the Monte Carlo SS were made, so the Aerocoupe is a significant rarity in comparison.”

The EV was actually produced before the internal combustion engine! The reason the gas powered engine became industry standard and the EV just kinda fell to the wayside, was due completely to the fact that the EV wasn’t worth a fuck. Really it still isn’t. The manufacturing process is extremely toxic and the cars/trucks have no notable range or tow distance. And the tow bill is extremely high if you can find a towing company capable due to its excessive weight and potential fire risk once placed on the yard after the crash

Most of them over heated due to the nose and every one thought they were ugly like most mopars of that era. Now people go crazy over them and other old chryslers because of the hemi. Ford had a aero torino on it's way also so nascar banned both not just the superbird. There were only 5 aero talladega Torino's made with Bud Moore having one but they were cancelled by nascar before they could hit the track. Nascar diden't want missles replacing cars so thats why they canceled the cars.
