Had my veneers put on in 1993. Thirty years later they are still there.

This happens more often than the public is aware of. I had 14 porcelain veneers placed 15 years ago and have had many debonding issues. I wear a night guard, have great oral hygiene and have proper occlusion. Now that I have had this procedure, I am literally stuck rebonding or replacing them at a whim. It is painful, expensive and anxiety inducing. Now have I met people who have veneers for 20 + years with no problems - yes, but have I met more people with similar problems - YES! UPDATE: End of 2022 I had my 16-year-old feldspathic porcelain veneers replaced with emax (8 top, 6 bottom) along with requiring 6 palatal veneers and 7 emax lower tabletops to raise my bite. It turns out I had developed a deep bite and that was contributing to the deboning. At that point, I had to address my full mouth if I wanted to get the best longevity. As we all know there is no going back with veneers, so I decided on Emax because the porcelain is thinner and more prone to leakage. The entire cost: 46, 000 CHF or 41 000 GBP. My dentist in Switzerland was of the mimetic dental philosophy to keep as much tooth structure as possible and very well-trained (medical journals etc.) this means you need to spend top dollar to find a specialist to carry out these procedures - maybe Switzerland is the extreme but anyone reading this consider that if you start doing multiple veneers in your twenties, you are stuck with a lifetime of costs and when your mouth changes due to aging you may need even more dental work or depending on how they are originally done or redone may not even be a candidate for veneers as you need to have adequate enamel to bond too! Only get a few veneers if you are young, but also consider teeth whitening and other less invasive procedures.

update have one verneer: One crown in front. The verneer is thick. but looks wise it the crown is better, and feel wise too. Litlle leakege of cold on veneer--crown nothing. Crown feels smotheer in back I prefer it to my own teeth.

OMG.. i have had two veneers pop off in less than five months... now dentist says i need implants because i have a strong bite and have to use a mouth guard.. but then if she knew i had a bite why add the veneers to my front teeth? I told her i wanted crown veneers to have a solution now and since i have warranty with her.. then i will run far from her and go somewhere else for a permanent solution. I feel so insecure and i am afraid to eat

hi, i have 8 units emax veneers too and i regret having them. I experience salty taste if im not eating. I do brush and floss to take care of my oral health. Do you experience salty taste too for 15yrs? Just want to get idea if this is normal! 😢

Two days ago I had my veneer re cemented on my tooth and today I was eating pizza and the veneer broke clean off. Wow I wish I never got veneers in the first place

@@penguinshoes6256 did the dentist charge you to recement the teeth? Did he say why it keeps popping off. He or she should give some suggestions or alternative solutions. I dont have veneers yet but I want them on my top 4 or 6. I have been practicing eating with side teeth instead of the front 6 teeth to see how difficult it is and its not too bad. Pizza can be tough to rip apart with teeth so I would not use veneers on that. Use the side teeth. I would only use veneers on softer foods like untoasted sandwiches or fruit (after its been cut into pieces). Its too bad you have to think about what foods you cannot bite into but I think veneers are worth it because the confidence you get from beautiful teeth can change your life for the better! My ugly teeth have been a nightmare. Hate them so much

@@davidharrow9025 Luckily my dentist did not charge me for re cementing my veneer, but that veneer that broke off completely from biting on the pizza has not been replaced. My natural tooth is still there in my mouth so I don't have a missing tooth in its place. My dentist isn't recommending me to replace that veneer that came off, but she said she is more than willing to replace it and have a new veneer made, but that would cost me over $1,000 dollars. That's unfortunately money I don't have at this time so I'm just not going to replace it

Snap looks so natural I’m not messing with my natural teeth again I was young and stupid two of my veneers fell off , I want to remove the other two and buy the snap on

I totally agree. I got 4 Emax veneers fitted due to chipped and discoloured teeth. Would I get them again. No. I have had problems with TMJ and grinding as my original teeth had been chipped due to grinding. I wear a night guard. Its like the jaws have reacted to the new teeth. In the quest for a nice smile there is a lot of maintenance, more regular cleanings, a lot of flossing and upkeep.

Doctor, I had 3 posts for molar implants all in a row. I had a bad feeling and got a second dentist to look at my teeth without telling him about the posts. He immediately said that all 3 were at different angels vs horizontal AND one was failing…bone not adhering. Because the posts need to be removed with one failing, does that increase the chance of the new posts to fail?

Broke a front incisor and the local NHS dentist,filed the remaining tooth down to the gum line.The dentist said they haven’t got the equipment to do an implant and go to a private dentist.The private dentist said it would cost £2250 for a root canal and an implant.,which I haven’t got.Are you able to help fix the problem.?The NHS just a pallet with a tooth on the end of it to fill in the space where they filed down the original tooth.I cannot use it as it’s to painful when I bite down on it to chew food.The Private Dentist said When I showed it to him said it’s a waste of money and no use.

Came across your video as I’m desperate. I’ve had 9 veneers done in london in 2007 and until last week I’ve experienced one front lateral to break… I went to the same clinic and they did a composite rebonding witch lasted only less then 72 hours. I need to have the rebonding again and I’m fearful for going to the same dentist…. As while she was doing the rebonde she kept saying that she didn’t know whether is going to stay longer or not. That left me a bit desconforted and is a clinic of high reputation in london. I need your help please. This was only Saturday when I had the Tooth rebonding and at this instead I’m writing this the tooth is out. PLEASE HELP

Doctor, is it possible to have bonding or any other procedure that can be done for decay at the gum line from medication?? Other dentists only recommend implants or don’t address the issue at all. Not one dentist has spent more than 7 minutes in my consultation. In Los Angeles it’s hard to find an honest dentist.😢

Finding a good dentist that knows how to do the job well, it is very difficult. Do you have a Dentist that can recommend in Las Vegas Nevada 🙏🏼

Had 4 emaxx done 3 years ago. Today a side one popped off. My question being if this becomes a continual thing is it possible to just get the veneers off and go back to composite bonding. I know theres maintenance involved in that but if id known the anxiety attached to these things!

Just like any jewellery item, should the customer expect certificate of authentication of gold purity & weight & valuation certificate?? Im talking about front tooth veneer or bottom teeth.

Oh man I think I chose wrong front tooth overbite: I broke the temp 2x. What should I do waiting for stupid Vermeer..??? Should I just go elsewhere and ask for crown? Originally went because real one had a corner break. Update: update have one verneer: One crown in front. All on 4 Or all on 6 what do most patients want if it’s possible to have one or the other?

I don't know. If there is space to safely place 6, then I do. There is no extra cost to do that. The end result looks the same, patients would not know the difference if all they saw was the end result.

Lab acted unethically because Emax material is more expensive than Zirconium and you honestly should have noticed the difference before cementing them. Good thing you replaced the whole smile with emax and cut the lab off which the best thing you could have done.

That's not a wrong choice of matrial, dear, that's wrong treatment decision. You'll never get away with something so stupid as that.. all biting force goes on front veneers, no posterior support on right side and + opened bite as a cherry on the top... Biting force... strong man, look at the muscles on the face!! look, his top front teeth ( strong natural teeth) are worn down BY PREASSURE. And you increasing preassure by opening bite. Don't even think about veneers without posterior teeth. Not clever at all. Common sense is lacking here, unfortunately . Pity about the lab not getting paid, but they should think twice before carrying out dumb orders. At least they've got rid of you... so something good came out of this ordeal😉🤣. On the other hand... you only young, hopefully will learn from that ... Thankfully majority of people here haven't got a clue what has really happened 👍😉.

After replacing with the more appropriate material, there have been no issues. Occlusion is balanced, guidance is in harmony with his natural motion. Be careful to criticise others, based on the limited information you have (a small selection of photos)

Imagine writing something so condescending based on a couple of photos without any I/O exam or imaging and thinking you know better than the attending dentist. Have some humility next time just skip leaving a comment, especially one which looks like it was written by a 15 year old. Also unrelated but "You're only young" seems like an odd comment given the fact Dr Sehmi seems to have been in practise ~15 years, so assuming he graduated dental school at a normal rate he's around 40? What a strange thing to say.
