In the realm of philanthropy and charity, one name that often stirs up controversy and generates a fair share of criticism on social media is MrBeast. With his ambitious and impactful charitable projects, MrBeast has become the most prominent creator on KZread. However, his philanthropy has caused controversy over and over again as public perception, particularly on Twitter, is often vicious. From the famous MrBeast blind video and his remarkable endeavors to cure blindness, to the touching stories of amputees and deaf individuals that he has supported, there's no denying the philanthropic motives behind his work. Yet, his projects keep attracting critics and fueling negative discussions. Is it warranted though?

I think that it's perfectly fine to question motives, but from everything I've seen, Mr beast is a genuine guy who just wants to use his massive platform to help the most people possible, which is more than I can say for most. Also, to be able to do acts of charity and give away millions, he needs to generate the content that can fund these efforts. That's why it's so annoying for people to be upset that he's monetizing the charity, because how else is he supposed to be able to be so effective in his helping people?

You wouldn't believe it, but tonnes of people think that blindness has been cured, when it just hasn't and that isn't what he did. And the sad thing is this could be so easily avoided by a simple rewording of the title and a couple of lines of dialogue.

Have u watched the video? I'm gonna put it in simple terms for you to understand. Imagine I'm hypeing a new video I will post and say dumb shit like *I've put 200 hours of editing in this guy's, I'm soo excited, biggest thing I ever did* And the video turns out to be a mess, I cure cancer but Insted of focusing on the story of the patients or their journey I hyperfocus on giving them money and buying them shit. Nobody is complaining he helped people, people that do complain about that are dumb, people find the video dumb because u are presented whit some people, baited into giving a shit about them and Insted of focusing on the main theme of the video it's hyperfocused on *I gave people money and filmed their reaction*. Most of them are more happy about the money rather than the medical condition being solved and it's bad, especially the kid thing, that little girl didint gave a shit about her medical condition as soon as she heard the words *free toys*. It paints a super weird distopian picture about our society and quite frankly I'm disgusted. Again it's a bad look and the way they presented it is weird af too, u get that bitter taste because it was edited this way, we bearly have any moments whit the subjects of the video, their reactions after the procedure is skiped/rushed but the scenes in which they get the money, toys or other shit is showed full length. It's like Jimmy missed the point of what helping people means, people are mad mostly because jimmy looked kinda like those old youtubers that *made it rain* on the homeless people and we know jimmy is not like that but we don't know why he decided to portray himself like that. Hope that explains it all.

I dont think its that simple, like the video explained it shows a deeper issue that in our society doing good is seen as rare, so when someone does something good people are more likely to believe its for some kind of ulterior motive that to believe its genuine. I mean just looking at the word rich bad things are often associated with it too. That being said I dont know what kind of person Mr.Beast is and I have no way of knowing from my standpoint but he is still a person despite his status. If he turns out to be like other celebrities that would be unfortunate but unsuprising but we should wait and see if he is that kind of person before judging him.

After a few weeks, the man came back to the rabbi. “I have decided not to build the orphanage,” he said. “I realised that I was only doing it because I wanted to be admired as a philanthropist, my motives were selfish.” The rabbi answered, “do you think the orphans will care what your motives were? Most "profitting off people in need" types of contents only go as far giving money, making food then give it to the homeless,... but here he goes all the way to spend a huge sum to provide people in need with more major issues. Even if its just to gain popularity or make money, a good deed is a good deed no matter its motives. Thats undeniable

I think that Beast's philantropy videos also help to spread awareness of different organization who help people, and masses tend to overlook that. He always (or in most cases) ends up collaborating with some charity group or with the legitimate organization which can manage their funds and donations properly and actually do good. If he was just throwing money at people on the streets and filming it then that could be concidered as a shady move to gain more popularity. And, yes, he did that too, but he was pretty direct in videos that this content is more like an expensive entertainment than real philantropy.

I got into the MrBeast boat rather late I think, but everything I've seen makes me think he is genuinely doing things with good intentions. Yes, he makes videos about the things he does, but you have to consider that he tends to do it once to fund the operation, bring awareness and then come up with new stuff. He did a video about his food banks and continues to operate them and help people without making further videos about it, which he could easily continue to do if he wanted to exploit it. He also has spoken about mistakes he's made and what he's learned. Like just giving some money to a homeless person, and later learning there were better ways to make an impact and how he regreted that something like that did seem exploitative of the homeless person who ended up in his video. TLDR - he's not perfect, but he sure as hell is doing a lot more to help people than most of us and in a much more transparent way

Everyone always uses the argument that being a philanthropist shouldn't come with video-making and internet clout, but only someone with a lot of money could really do the things that Jimmy does. The endless cycle that is mentioned in the video is basically essential to give out this much money and the numbers are absolutely nothing to sneeze at.

I feel like people are just focusing on the wrong thing here. _Why_ he's doing charity isn't even important, the fact that he's actually doing charity IS. I don't get how people can be mad about him "turning charity into entertainment" when that's literally a GOOD THING! Because making it entertainment doesn't take away from the charity, it only adds to it. Just because its presented as entertainment doesn't make those 1000 people who had cataracts became blind again. Those people are now happy. And by making it a piece of entertainment he spread that positivity while simultaneously making money from that WHICH he uses to help even more people and so on. Its a perfect system where charity makes money for more charity. Its genius. It helps people, entertains people, spreads information about these people in need and MOST IMPORTANTLY normalizes charity. That imo one of the best things Mr Beast has done. From tree planting, team seas to now this. He's singlehandedly normalizing these "good deeds" which is one of the best things he could've done as a content creator whose content is watched by millions of people.

In my opinion I am mad at the Mr. Beast video. Not because of his actions, for or not for views it still is a good action although I think that saying that we can cure blindness might be a bit misleading considering how much of a blanket term blindness is. For me the real problem is that Mr. Beast demonstrates that at least in the USA (where I assume he is filming) such procedures are so expensive that many can’t afford it. As well many live in parts of the world where since their nations don’t matter to the interests of outside countries money isn’t given to help allow treatment to be available. As said in the video itself it’s a 10 minute surgery which makes the real problem that a video like this had to be created at all.

There's a difference between doing something good for content and making content based off of something good that you did. MrBeast made 1000 people see again because he actually wanted to help people and then showed off what he did so that he get money to be able to do more. He also didn't cure blindness, that's something doctors are still working. All he did was pay for cataract surgery which is a form of blindness and is something that is a lot easier to fix. He even explains that he paid for cataracts surgery. In the video, several people he helped out stated that since they lost their ability to see they had a hard time working but now that they can see, they can provide for their families again. And even the doctors in less developed countries stated that MrBeast's help allowed them to be able to help people who would have never been able to afford simple treatments and now the lives of their patients are exponentially improved. This was the same thing in his amputee video. The reason he decided to go to cambodia (I think it was cambodia) was because that country is coated in undetonated bombs and there are a lot of people who can't work because they can't afford a proper prosthetic due to accidentally stepping on the left over weapons. Now they can work and make things better for their families which would have been exponentially harder without MrBeast's help. It is very obvious that the first thing he thought about and asked was "What can I do to make someone's life better" and then thought about the video afterwards. Also, I don't think its really a cult to buy up homes in a neighborhood for your employees. A lot of the people you see in MrBeast's videos are friends of his, so now he can just walk across the street to hang out with his buddies anytime he feels like.

I think Mr. Beast brought up a great point. Without these videos, he wouldn't have the money he needs to do these great things, and even on the main channel where not all 100% of the money goes to charity, a large portion of it goes to making the channel better, which spawns more views, which earns him more money which means more videos giving away money.
