@@Affvuu i have a much better idea , because of his link to death , when under a certain amount of hp (35%) he gets a damage buff and slight reload buff (basically dmg gear )

The amount of things that counter Mortis is just laughable, Otis’s super being one of his most ridiculous hard counters.

If we're being honest all mortis really needs is a better reload speed, and more damage with his main attack and super. Also i almost forgot about the health buff from around 6000 to 15000. Also make his long dash the length of a goddam showdown map. Personally i think he needs just a few more buffs, like, increaseing speed from very fast to mock 10. Now that we've made him a solid c tier brawler, we just need the finishing touches. Mortis now has 7 ammo instead of 3, he also destroys the heist safe instantly because yes. Now mortis super heals 500% more, and also heals his teammates. Speaking of teammates, now whenever mortis plays showdown, everybody has to team with him or hey get banned. I personally think these balance changes will make a slight big better, but still a "balecend" pick.

if he gets a dmg buff his star power will be indirectly buffed. I'd go with health and reload buff as of now.

Nah he still gonna be bad make it that every time mortis walks all of the brawler on the map get instantly kill that would probably make him B tier

as they said in a recent podcast, to shake up mortis usage rate they'll need to introduce an equally fun brawler to him, which is really hard to do, considering there's not many ideas that would work great in that aspect (Edgar is a primal example). So I think they shouldn't touch mortis anytime soon at all, as either buff or nerf is gonna make things worse

Edgar is a bad comparison to Mortis, when you "fight" someone as Edgar, the interaction will always end in you dying instantly after jumping on them or killing them before you or your enemy even use 1 ammo, Mortis players need to use far more Braincells to actually succeed.

@@HaverOfHands goof point, stu is so much fun, although it probably isn't as nearly appealing due to his mechanics not being as "on the nose" for 10yr olds

3:10 Coiled Snake back then was actually a staple pick for Mortis since it just allows him to do plays much easier and more consistently. It received 2 nerfs and Creepy Harvest had to receive a buff in order to compete with Coiled Snake, even then it was still considered the inferior option. It also didn't help at around December 2020 when Mortis received a buff to his healing from his super, making Creepy Harvest even more overshadowed. It wasn't until August 2021 where Mortis got reworked to have Coiled Snake as part of his base kit where Creepy Harvest became the better star power.

I like playing Mortis, but I'm terrible comparing to Crying Man, for example... The only ideia that i have for rework is the Star Power, it went from one of the best to one of the worst...

His biggest nerf was the removal of his hat

- I think he should receive a new trait. It would be called Blood Thirsty, basically Mortise’s next attack makes it so he becomes invincible if a brawler interrupted his attack after a certain bar is filled. The bar takes 15 seconds to complete although, if Mortis had super, it decreases to 10 seconds. This would decrease any damage done to him by 40%. He’s immune to stuns, push, pulls, poison, fire and electricity while in this state. But it last 3 seconds. I think the current Coiled snake should be replaced with a new Star Power. - Your Tombstone ( based of the animation of his first appearance). This star power makes it that if Mortis gets a kill, he will place down a tomb stone with half their hp. It wouldn’t be effective against throwers since the don’t have that much Hp however it would be very rewarding if he killed a tank. Upon killing the brawler, the tombstone would act like a shield. If the tombstone is destroyed, it drops a skull that Mortis can pick up that gives him half of one ammo slot. If this is to strong, they could just make so that a third of the health of the brawler for Hp of the Tombstone. - It would be great if he could dash over water tiles, like a normal dash gets you over two tiles of water while the long dash gets you four.

The tombstone idea seems a little weak(at the same time though if you teamwipe you get a row of them, which could be too strong) the reason why most of the spawnables are strong is because you can palce them down at any time, and most of them have a cool perk, Bo's buffs super charge, Spike's cactus heals upon destruction, making it useful even againsr Splash Damage Ruffs just Spawns 3 Sandbags, which in total have 4500 hp. Tombstones need a cool perk but i can't think of any without it copying an already existing one or being a temporary wall(which could be op considering his Teamwiping potential)

But here’s a new idea for them. - Upon getting close to a Tombstone, you’ll fall into the ground stunning you for a second. Replacing the idea of it spawning a skull, now it spawns a Mortified husk. A Husk has the same Hp as its tombstone but after three seconds after spawning it can transform into a bat latching on to its victim. It sucks 100 Hp per hit, healing Mortis 200 hp per second. They last 5 seconds on a brawler so it can heal 1,000 Hp each bat. It doesn’t matter where Mortis can be, he will always receive that health unless their destroyed. I thought of them making husks shadows of their brawler counter parts like Tara but that would be complicating things since there currently +65 brawlers so they would appear as Mortis. They can’t attack unless in their bat form. They last 8 seconds in a match so you’ll normally get 200-600 Hp. You can extend the time by 5 seconds if you’re near them. - To make Creepy harvest at the same level as Your Tombstone why not buff it so that a kill gives you all your Hp and a shield that blocks 20% of damage for 2 seconds. he could be useful(and a lot more fun) if he had two attack joysticks, one of them would aim his dash (auto aiming where he's looking at) and the other would aim an attack similar to his 1st gadget

Even though i dont play supercell games so often anymore, i love watching your channel muyo, you are super underrated

A little change though. Mortis was broken when coiled snake was released. The reload for coiled snake was very fast. That allowed a lot more wonton aggression than otherwise. Mortis was in every map and every game mode once more. Following which supercell increased that coiled snake delay.

In my opinion to rework him and make him a decent B tier at least the following needs to be improved Remove his cooldown, make him have inf ammo make his dash a teleport that deals 10x more damage, his super now covers the entire map and besides the healing gives him a 100000 hp shield similar to Gus also his long dash should one shot any brawler including the boss from boss fights, those changes will make him a solid balanced brawler but not too op as well

They need to replace his coiled snake star power with one that will allow him to become one with his bats by using his super, traverse a certain distance in one direction going through walls (just like the stock mortises super) while being invulnerable and when a player presses the super button again mortis goes back to his human form. Would be cool ngl

I love Mortis for his dashing ability, but even I think he’s pretty lackluster where he is now.

mortis us very fragile if you buff mortis dmg; his life steal star power will get indirectly buffed. just buff reload & health. with the reload buff you would get more mobility.

I'd just buff his first gadgetto deal 100 more dammage and a rework when he has his coiled snake charged up when he dashes he gets a 35% dammage reduction but his super can no longer stack that much ( I mean like Jessie's attacks but he charges his super less with his super) idk if that make sense

New gadget idea for Mortis would when he activates the gadget the next super he uses he teleports to the farthest point of the attack/or first enemy hit by his bats.

I think that biggest mortis nerd ever was the introduction of gadzets, every brawler that mortis could easily punish for making a miss steap now have some tool to fix there mistake for them and mortis then get blowed up, to low to continue keeping presure or in the best scenario just lose his super dash and now needs to wait 5 seconds to get a new one..

Bit off topic but did I hear some angry birds epic ost at one point?? This game was my childhood 😭

Btw the only thrower that can counter him and for some reason is thrower not like sharpshooter or controller is penny bc of projectile buff + 2nd starpower and 1st gadget

Barley can counter Mortis with his 1st sp and 2nd gadget

Mortis is so matchup-dependant that I don't even think it's justifiable to buff him. Buffing mortis will make him even harder to handle if he already counters you, while he will have a better time against his traditional counters.

With some smart movement even I managed to kill a mortis as Mr P He isnt that strong especially in more 2v1 situations and higher And even some throwers counter him if you play them really well

the reason why mortis is popular is because trickshotters like rzm and icepiper showed their skill with mortis and people thinking mortis is really easy to play

In the hands of a good player he is the best brawler, he has a high team wipe potential. One super is all he needs. I killed a 5 cube buzz with him😂.

He hasn't received any changes for a year after nerf, supercell either is too scared to do anything about it or they just don't care. Literally deleting him would put him out of his misery, but they can't delete a brawler.

i thought rosa would be more in popularity because of the mastery title

I wish they take steps to promote skill counters and not hard counters.

Correction: It is possible to outskill a counter with Mortis, it's just rly hard Coiled snake is rly underrated now cuz Mortis heavily relies on his long dash in order to make a play so this star power can reduce the waiting time. Creepy Harvest is also not bad but most of the time it is not rly useful as by the time you kill a player, you can naturally heal as *usually* there will not be anyone attacking you.

There are also one reason why he fell hard. It is because basically every new brawler is anti melee (like r-t, u instantly got melted if rt got his super) u will find that almost every top 10 brawler have high burst or evasive/stun or knockback abilities in their kit. This makes mortis much more unplayable in this meta (dont get me wrong, he is playable but u cant do shit about hard counters

My idea on how to buff mortis is increase his range to 4 tiles, but nerf long dash from 75% increased range to 30% increased range. Then buff his health from 5700 to 6000. Just like Max, Mortis should have 4 ammo, but his damage should be nerfed(including his super, maybe 1120 damage per attack), and increase his reload speed from very slow to slow. Finally his mythic gear should make him heal for 25% of the damage he deals (This means his ult will heal him 150% of the damage dealt) This is not a joke comment I am serious. However, even if they did implement these changes he would probably still one of the worst brawlers because he gets hard countered by pretty much any brawler. After doing the math you realize that with a full combo (not including gadget) he only deals like an extra 300 damage with these changes and heals an extra 1280 (damage gear included) so maybe no damage nerf.

This brawler is really funny tbh the worst when you’re bad and the best meta counters when you’re good mostly because alot of his counters are shitass
