Why Morocco will be your next surf trip? | NO CONTEST OFF TOUR
Спорт
"For the last decade Morocco has ranked as the most visited country in Africa," says No Contest host Ashton Goggans, “and by the end of this episode we'll find out why, out of the 10-million foreigners arriving here each year, a million of them are surfers.”
The arguments Goggans makes are pretty compelling: amazing waves, hospitable people, a thriving local surf scene and incredible food that blends the best of Africa and Europe are just the starting point. Don't take our word for it though, hit play above and soak up the action as Moroccan surfers Ramzi Boukhaim, Soufiane Cheroub and @othmanechoufani4820 play host to @kaulivaast3747 , @natxogonzalez1 , @lauracoviella and many more, as well as introducing us to some of the interesting characters who pull make up the diverse fabric of the local surf culture.
To recap all that went down while filming for this episode we caught up with Laura Coviella, a hard charging surfer who grew up a short flight away in the Canary Islands, and leaps at every chance she gets to hop over to Africa and surf her brains out in the land of perfect righthand pointbreaks. Dive into our chat via the link below, then hit play on the latest episode of No Contest above. Enjoy!

This is sooo well done. It describes how it does feel to be in Morocco and especially downs south where the Amazigh culture is mostly present. As a moroccan living abroad, while watching the documentary I couldn't resist asking myself why in the earth would I leave my beloved country and my people? chasing what..? The generosity of Moroccans is just unrivaled. Thank you for making me feel there for the 21min I spent watching it. Lots of love ❤

Morocco 🇲🇦 is modernising its infrastructure (trains, planes, roads, etc) to get ready for the 2030 football World Cup co-hosted with Portugal ans Spain. Ryanair is entering the internal flying market in Morocco from the summer of 2024. This will bring cheap tickets to fly from Tangier to Marrakesh or from Marrakesh to Agadir using Ryanair. Great news for Moroccans and tourist.
I think that Morocco is the best country for surfing and its beaches are great, especially in these months because the weather is beautiful, better than Europe and America. It is not cold and not hot, and the waves are big and there are no sharks or anything😅. I enjoy the city of Safi with the waves in the month of the 11th, 12th, one, two and three.

Morocco is a 60s-70s hippie's version of a surf paradise. Lots of culture, insanely delicious foods, lots of sunshine, waves galore, finest hashish (literally it's birth place), good music, sick landscape, and friendly locals. Problem is, 1m surfers each year and growing, it's attracting too many expensive hotel chains and resorts, impacting local purchasing power and making things more expensive for surf tourists.
