@@lenny3735we don't know that gravity is real, at least in Motion. All of the stand users came from a family that worked for DIO except for Josuke and the Joestars. I'm pretty sure that includes Kira, so Kira is a result of DIO and so is his being caught in the end

He had to go with Hayato to rub salt into the wound and he had to remove Bites the Dust (who already would have gotten the Morrioh squad) from Hayato just so he can slab the guy and he had to say it out loud that he is Kira for Josuke to hear it....... edit: slap*

Kira didnt have Killer Queen originally! He was standless and killed without the help of Killer Queen. He only recently acquired Killer Queen thanks to the stand arrow.

@@Reed5016 TBH most shonen villains are kind of mid in terms of writting.

The appeal of Kira's character is a combination of dark realism and the fact that you see things from his perspctive. People talk about how villains are the heroes in their own story, and there's nothing heroic about Kira. But you feel uncomfortably relatable to him when you see anxiety from his perspective, you end up rooting for him instinctively. He makes you feel bad for pure evil.

Couldn't have said it better myself. He's always in danger of being exposed as a killer and the protagonists are always in danger from his stand. It's phenomenal writing for a type of killer that usually ends up being one-note in most stories.

8:00 to be fair to Diavolo, he doesn't have a singular theme, but a leitmotif that shows up in multiple songs that is fairly recognizable. Not as much as Kira's, of course.

@@zukitamo nah I kind of think of him like Walter White lol, he was always like that but when he started gaining power, his goals began evolving more and more, but they always reflected his huge ego. Yes his goals became more heightened, but I think DIO is just Dio Brando power tripping. Spending a few decades in a coffin in the ocean probably didn't help his case, but gave him ample time to develop his goals.

Not going to lie, Killer Queen is a baller stand, but Wonder of U is my favourite main Villain stand. Thanks to WoU I am now forever anxious whenever I walk behind an old man with a cane and can't see their face. Also, I love how WoU acts like no other stand in Jojo. It really gives you this dread while reading because of how many rules it breaks.

I don't think there are any set-in-stone rules in place for stands (at least not a lot of them). If there were, then Araki would be pointlessly limiting himself and we probably wouldn't have gotten a good majority of the stands we have now. That being said, Wonder of U is something else entirely... It's probably one of my personal favorites.

@@vulturesalesman There are rules (Only a stand/stand user can see and interact with stands, stands have a user, stands have limited range) Araki just breaks them constantly. WOU also breaks a narrative rule. Almost every time in order to beat a stand, you need to either go after the user or create a plan of attack (Only the most one-sided matchups will allow one to just go in and attack without a plan) except those two things cause WOU to activate. To beat it, you need an extremely specific counter and the counter is about the only thing that can start the chain of events that can lead to WOU's defeat. It's why I consider WOU to be the strongest ability in the Jojo franchise, even stronger than GER(although to be fair, to me GER is stuck at third while tied with Tusk 4) Novel Kars and TWOH DIO. You either use it's counter or you die and only one person knows how to use said counter.

10:24 he doesn't stalk him, Kira just grabs him because he was walking home from work at about the same time as he was being chased. This wasn't a planned contingency Kira had, he was just very lucky that a man of similar build was walking by, tying into the running theme of Kira believing luck to be on his side.

I never noticed episode 12 Kira sighting!! Thats so awesome bc that rlly was a nice touch.

Nah bro, there are way scarier villains... - Dio Brando was a literal immortal vampire who scoffed at bullets and was so petty he kept coming back to kill everyone he could, from Jonathan to Zeppeli, you would not want to get frozen or shot by laser eyes or turned into a zombie - Kars legit committed mass genocide having wiped out almost all other Pillar Men and became the Ultimate Life Form, based on the light novel, Kars would have been insanely OP if he hadn't been stopped by Joseph, he could have had every stand in its most powerful form - DIO was still an immortal vampire but now he had a worldwide network of stand users and loyalists, and if you were a woman, you would be a literal blood bag for him, and based on the EoH game, Heaven Ascended DIO would have turned reality itself into a hellscape - Yes Kira was terrifying, but at the end of the day, until he got BtD, his stand was mid and he was just a serial killer with a deadly stand, he wasn't a reality warper, immortal, or absolutely ruthless. He didn't revel in torture, he just detonated his victims, the only time he went to the extremes was with Koichi, bec of his faltering emotional state - Diavolo was close to being one of the worst, not only for how he treated his daughter but also his actions, from enabling the drug trade in Italy to being a mob boss of the Passione mafia, and the mafia is known for terrible things. Had he gotten the Requiem arrow, things would have only gotten worse - Pucci is probably the worst imo. The one who is evil but didn't even think he was evil. Killed people without a care, 100 sinners off the bat, and countless more before that with his corruption and ruthlessness, while planning for Jolyne to enter G.D.S.T as a framed prisoner. He killed nearly the entire Joestar gang, basically killed Jotaro twice (taking his memory DISC and putting him in a coma counts), and accelerate the entire universe to the point of reset. That itself caused catastrophic damage on Earth and anywhere else in the universe, we only saw a very small glimpse in the manga/anime of how it affected helicopters, sports stadiums, people walking in the street, those driving cars, pedestrians, etc. - Based off the light novel where Kars stole Pucci's Made in Heaven and got an Ultimate Made in Heaven, Pucci would have become insanely OP if he succeeded in the universe reset without dying to Emporio. Not anything like BtD, erasing time and seeing the future, stopping time, or reality warping with limits. His ultimate goal was to align humanity with their Fates in order to prepare them for the inevitable future, and when DIO had the desire to take over the entire world, he gained reality warping in EoH after achieving full Heaven. Had Pucci done the same, we can assume he would have gained some form of precognition, able to see the future with no limits and also being able to move at infinite speeds. Since it is "his universe", he would also reign supreme, having enslaved all of humanity to their Fates, prob like Emperor Pucci. - He is severely underrated, being only the third person in the entire JJBA verse to ever achieve Heaven, and the only one with a unique ability, since both DIO and Jotaro share the reality warping which Made in Heaven does not. This is prob since Jotaro wanted to stop DIO and Star Platinum is the same type of stand as The World, while Pucci had a different end goal. - Valentine is no joke either, he can redirect misfortune with his Love Train ability and he is no saint, he committed r*pe, murder and other crimes without a single thought for what he considered his morals and goals for the United States of America. And he pretty much manipulated and used people, but that's like every politician nowadays so nothing too unique. Still a scary guy, since he is very realistic and there could be someone like that irl at this very moment, the writing is astonishingly good for his character development - Tooru is the one with one of the deadliest abilities in the main antagonists, but as a character he is bland. A medical student who appears at the very end of the JoJolion manga and pretty much does nothing, his stand Wonder of U does everything making it far more interesting and terrifying with the calamity inducing ability

I remember giving Killer Queen a listen after watching part 4 and it blew my mind how much sense it made.

Good video, yet because I am a crazed jojo fan no different than the rest of the fan base, I have to point out that Kira did not stalk kosaku previous to assuming his life. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or at the very least, we have no proof that Kira was stalking him.

My brain also didn't acknowledge the first episode (I think), a hand as a corpse to introduce the lively Morioh Music. Killer video man, only bad part is I now have to find the time to reread part 4.

when i started jojo's, the only stands i recognized (like i've seen them before and now i'm just seeing them for the first time) were star platinum (obvious) and killer queen bcuz he's just so iconic. the lil cat ears and the resting bitch face. it's just perfect

All through high school I used Kira's theme as an alarm clock..... I now have flashbacks whenever I hear it

8:08 I think the thing that makes Kira's theme so remarkable is how it sort of feels like it's telling a story. A lot of the other villains have songs that are meant to demonstrate either their massive presence or the dread they command. With Kira, however... It starts off with this innediately unsettling piano. Then it oresents this wimsical score that still has this sense of "wrong" to it. And then, there's the chaos that plays in the other half, as if the score itself is seeing the kind of monster Kira is

Even Diavolo and Pucci... Pucci's problem is he thinks he's helping humanity but it will only make their Earthly existence completely meaningless when they already know how things will unfold. That's definitely a hellish existence if you ask me. And he's not even aware of it. Just like how Wes says how he's the kind of evil who doesn't know he's evil.

I'd say Johan Liebert from Monster is a more extreme version of Kira since Johan is truly emotionless. You can see some emotions in Kira (mainly fear). Monster was published: Dec 5, 1994 to Dec 20, 2001 and Part 4 was published: Apr 21, 1992 to Nov 21, 1995. Given this I'd say Kira was "topped" quite a while ago.

Well, Johan is cool, but it feels more real to see a actual man have fear. It feels more real and closer to a actual serial killer, because Yoshikage is human and humans have… well “fear”, it’s great to see a more emotional character get defeated than someone who just has no emotion

Because kira wasn't just some mindless bad guy looming dreadfully in the background. If you didn't know the full story, kira would seem like a normal guy with a stand. And in some cases, even a good guy, like when he took out shigechi.

Kira is an incredible villain, and I agree with most of your points…but putting Griffith in the thumbnail was a wild choice lmao No way I can co-sign that implication 😂

For the average serial killer, killing is a depraved hobby, nothing more. It's something they do to get their kicks, something as easy as the way we play video games, football, or chess. For Kira, it is a borderline physiological need. It's something he does because he feels he cannot live without it. He treats it as naturally as we do breathing or sleeping.
