Guys listen: Doing masters in US was the worst decision for Harnoor because he already did bachelors in US so doing Masters did nothing wonders for him as he didnt get OPT again, his salary didnt boost from 1x to 5x (because he was already earning good amt after bachelors in US) but it would be a good decision for us because doing masters would allow us to enter US, live there for atleast 5 years (2 year masters + 3 year CPT, OPT) + it will boost our income as compared to current salary in India But Harnoor is already in US He was already earning very good amount after bachelors He already got OPT after bachelors Arey its like Ambani saying MBA karke koi faida nhi hua, kyuki apne bachelors karke hi sara faida leliya

3 years is more than enough to pay all the loans and debt you have if you save wisely. Also you should have a clear mind before coming to usa that student visa (or any other visa apart from immigration) are temporary. If you manage to get a job in big companies like fang then when you go back to your home you will definitely have a good job and you will have a good standard of living in India or any of your home country. Yes H1b and all are based on luck but main objective for student visa is to learn and make a career for your self and 5 years is more than enough. If your plan is to become a permanent resident in usa then there is no guarantee that you can achieve that by student visa.

Lastly masters doesn't increase ur chance of h1b lottery it "doubles". The masters applicants get to double dip the lottery so if u didn't get purely luck.

Even part time jobs are not available unless it's in your own field. So prepare in mind for that. To get a part time job will be a sure competition as you're not allowed to work outside of your campus. Keep in mind everything before coming here. Your life will be more harder than in India..

University doesn't matter much for technical fields. Generally, non-technical fields are not recommended. If you know something like Java, Networking, or Information Security, getting a job is incredibly easy. The business-related fields like marketing, data science, and analytics, usually suffer a lot while finding jobs. I have even seen product managers have an easier time finding jobs and many business analytics grads having to take product management roles. Moreover for non-stem courses its very hard to pay off your loan since there's no stem extension, fees are high, and it's hard to find a job.

The companies that mostly hire you are most of the time Indian companies who will abuse your visa. So know that!!!.

@@ramboog2654 H1B is work visa who students apply while studying masters in USa. On completing masters they get 1 year cpt +2 years opt - student work visa, using which they can work and parallely apply for H1B. How H1B is lottery process. So if one does not get lucky in 3 years , most students enroll in another masters programme which offers day1 enrollment cpt visa. Using which they work and study at same time. And keep applying H1B. Such students expecially girls brag about them doing double masters, but reality is it's their bad luck due to which they are having to do this.

H1B depends completely on luck. It is a lottery based system. No matter if you have 5 years or 15years of experience your H1B might get rejected over and over or might even get picked up in lottery in 1st attempt itself. Its a total gamble

This is BS. You can’t say doing masters in the US is completely useless. You shouldn’t do masters because something is considered “Hot fields “ you should pursue something only if you are passionate. And getting a job and earning a lot of money are your only reasons to do masters, don’t do it. No job or work authorization is 100% guaranteed no matter how talented or smart you are. I have done masters in the US and mine was a non stem course so I had only 1year of OPT and my H1B was picked in the first year. So stop spreading misinformation.
