To my fellow malayalees who are reading this.. Whenever someone, especially from outside of kerala praises our movies, it's better to not be carried away. It's better to be grateful & thank them, instead of boasting further to an extent where it becomes annoying.. Also everyone is entitled to their opinion & biased about their industry and stars, so it won't be well received if we compare with other industries & degrade their stars.. Ofcourse every industry produces good movies & have their own strength.. Let's stand united, love, & celebrate every good content from India, regardless of language.. ❤️

One of the toughest audiences in the world to impress is Malalayalis...We analyse the films and choose films to watch wisely ...In Kerala , films will not run if the plot and making is not strong (even if the leading actor is Mohanlal or Mammootty(top actors)). That is the history of mollywood. Unlike other industries especially Kollywood, Bollywood etc...We dont give importance for stardom ,Only we give importance for tight script and making. If such type film is released , it will run long definitely irrespective of the actors acted in it. Many examples are there.Proud to be a Malayali ❤

Malayalam industry has been doing this since 1980s and now because of the far and wide reach that social media and OTT platforms provide, outsiders are able to watch and be in awe. But, for us malayalees, this is not new at all. Someone put a comment mentioning that Malayalees are boastful when it comes to their movies. Yeah, i too agree to that point but you guys have hardly seen a handful of our movies. If you had seen the kind of movies made in our industry for the last 30 years, you will literally be spellbound. Whole of south itself is a different league and breed when it comes to art and sadly not even half of the common audience praising the malayalam, tamil, kannada or telugu industry will be having that kind of knowledge about the movies made. We are forever thankful and proud for the late acceptance and fame we receive today 🥰

Malayalam Cinema has reached this point because Good Movies are appreciated by Kerala's Audience. Thereafter the word of mouth helps it reach other states. Bollywood movies which should've been encouraged are 1.Tumbbad 2.Laal Kaptaan 3.Maqbool 4.Bulbul 5.Omkara If movies like these got the appreciation they deserved then the bollywood have been different.

The three movies are on three different genres which make the month February every film enthusiasts, even the common audiences heaven. 1 . Premalu comes as a romantic comedy movie with basically millennial genz comedy , but it works out for every normal audience. The movies made me literally pass out from laughing, and the romance made me feel stuff. 2. Bramayugam is a mystery fantasy experimental movie, which I never thought would work out for this scale of audience. It is so much fun and fresh, and I am wonderstruck how much the man, the legendary actor, Mammootty amazes me each time. It's one of the best indian fantasy movie after tumbad for me. 3. Manjummal boys was something different. Other than being a great movie i am more amased about how it is a real life incident and the story of the selflessness. The artwork, the cinematography the direction acting etc was topnotch. But the main thing was how the movie gave a superhit romantic song a new meaning. The movie talks about friendship and they placed a frickin romantic song there. How did they make it work? Magic. Overall a great start for the year 2024. Special mention for the movie Malaikotta valiban which fell because of bad marketting. It was indeed a great movie and will be a milestone in the Indian film industry. Because of the daring approach. The movie is basically a comic book Specifically a Amar chitrakatha❤. And it does justice to the new genre. The only reason it failed was because it was majorly concieved as a mass masala movie but it wasn't.

Correction. Manjummal boys is not the second film to be shot at Guna caves. There was another malayalam movie Shikkar (2010), a Mohanlal starrer, shot at Guna caves. Also, Manjummal Team created a set to shot the major portions.

Rightly said Malayalam audience and film makers are more story centric and the characters are relatable, though I am from Telangana, love watching good cinema and of course Malayalam cinema, respect to Mammoty sir and actor of great class and calibre. Star actors playing a negative character, reminds of Legendary Senior NTR garu who played characters of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna umpteen times has played characters of Ravana and Duryodhana during the peak of his career . I recommend you watch Sita Rama kalyanam , Sri Krishna Pandveyam and Dana Veera Shoora Karna.

If you look in to the national awards won by artists from Kerala who have done character roles, you would be amazed to find how they conquered milestone way ahead of all other movie industry in India. Actors who play comic roles in Malayalam movies are so versatile that they have a huge audience to back them. They are not just side role or background actors. Just for an example, the Malayalam super hit Preman, friends are treated as equal. They all have their own dialogue and story which is not overshadowed by Nivin's character George. You cant see this kind of thing in other industries. Most of the times, side character or friend of the ML is just for fun. But in Malayalam cinema, they also have a story to tell. And this kind of treatment always as amazes me.

Actually for Manjummal Boys they have not used the Guna caves entirely since its closed right now and its so much risk even if they get permission to use that location. They made the set of Guna cave near a warehouse at Ernakulam (Kochi) by digging separate 50 feet deep pits and designing the entire cave inside. You can watch interviews of Ajayan Challisery, Art Director explaining the entire process. Its a wonderful work of art!
