Yeah but Anfield used to be home to Everton. Who won their first league title there and the first player to win an English league and Scottish league title played for both Everton and Celtic. Everton has had far more Irish connections than LiverpoolFC ever did. The Irish in Liverpool historically chose to support Everton. Its only been since the Premier League era were this Irish (mostly down to gloryhunters from Ireland bringing their flags) being associated with LFC. As a city though 75% of Liverpool has Irish ancestry.

I think nearly everyone in LIVERPOOL have either a IRISH or SCOTTISH relations my father is irish

I agree but Liverppol (like Celtic) have always acknowledged that Irish fusion as the names in the city reflect that, I was born in Liverpool to Irish parents, went to a RC school, lived in a street called Killarney Road and played for my local team, Lenister Boys....had mates in school whose surnames were 80%Irish and Welsh, Kelly, Kavanagh, Cox, O'Reilly, O'Brien, Murphy, Malloy, Brennan, and my name Maher from Tipp.

Anfield Is named after the local area of Hangfield. McKenna was a Protestant orange man.(and a Tory) Half the kop used to chant for rangers during the pre game Celtic/rangers chant. Seen some.of the worst football violence ever in the king Harry pub the last time Celtic where down. 2 friendlies against rangers on the last visits.to Glasgow. Irish people might support Liverpool but doesn't mean it's an Irish club. Load of divisional bollocks.

@@capt9 I'm not measuring it statistically, I'm talking about my own personal experiences. However, Liverpool is the city with the most Irish descendants in England by far and I'm quite certain that's been recorded statistically EDIT: Everton and Liverpool fans in the modern day come from the same families. This has been the case since the 1960s. You rarely get entire Liverpool families without Everton supporters and vice versa. It's extremly common for a Liverpool father to have 4 kids who are 2 reds and 2 blues for example. This doesn't happen with many other rivalries in football
