    This is a really eye-opening video. Even though I know the loop capabilities are there and I have experimented with them a bit, I hadn't thought of working with loops in this way. Thanks for another great tip!

    It’s funny how when you add a bunch of amp and drum icons to the live loops tracks it doesn’t look as intimidating anymore.

    Your guitar was made by Samick in South Korea in the mid 1980s. They made thousands of les Paul’s and sg under the name hondo, I have a westbury from the same factory. American companies would request which names to have and from a distance Gilbert looked like Gibson. They are fantastic guitars as made almost as well as the Gibsons at a quarter of the price.

    I've been thinking that this was a possibility for guitar/bass/drums composition, but haven't yet set out to try it. Thanks for not only showing how to do it, but also some really nice right-click options and nuances for using this in a very practical way for guitar, bass, drum composition.

    Thanks for this! I've been a bit intimidated to learn this UI, and i'm less electronica based, but this has been a great introduction for standard songwriting usage. The quantizing! Now I see how I could play guitars live, but still have enough simplicity to trigger this near the end of sections to extend my band's live performances. Awesome.

    Novation Launchpad X is the MIDI controller I didn’t know I needed. I resisted getting it, but once I hooked it up, I couldn’t believe how fast I was putting arrangements together. I play keys….but the launchpad X is the center of my workflow. I can’t use Logic Pro without it.

    a quick comment I found on "Gilbert Les Paul" guitars - two versions exist from this comment ..... - "Gilberts are indeed plywood and hollow…. if made by the folks who made memphis. gilberts were also made by the same factory as hondo II, yamaha, etc. looking at the headstock shape and inlays can show who made them. the hondo/yamaha ones are heavier and made with better wood than the ones made by memphis. very groovy guiltars. the later ones, like hondos, had dimarzios stock. the earlier ones had the “fake” buckers with a large single couil inside a humbucker shell. they appear to have come thru a small importer in jersey in the mid 70’s and are crazy rare to find. i own 3 of the 5 i’ve seen in my 57 years. don’t confuse these with the PAUL GILBERT “gilbert” les pauls, those were made by yamaha and unbranded, he added his name to them… they were set neck, not bolt on. one of my favorite “unknown” guitar brands of all time."

    I am performing with live loops and it's so freakin cool, will be doing more and more of it, I have a question, how can I manipulate FX live with a midi controller while triggering loops?

  • @drvoodoo3073

    @drvoodoo3073

    9 ай бұрын

    You can just move any fader/knob as you're triggering loops. If you want to manipulate only SPECIFIC tracks just make sure that track is selected while you're triggering the loop. OR you can also set each track to a specific MIDI channel and make sure your MIDI controller is outputting on the same MIDI channel. Only tracks with the same MIDI channel will be manipulated/affected.

  • @ravekitchen

    yup that sucks . not sure why apple did not add a sample offset control along with the loop controls with each segment , so to avoid using quantise at all. finding it difficult to keep nudging samples in its editor due to no such offset control being present. this is also a problem in MPC Akai. offset does not exist.
