Why LIGHT UP THE SKY Makes Us Love BLACKPINK Even More | Netflix

Ойын-сауық

Proving that music knows no borders or language barriers, BLACKPINK: LIGHT UP THE SKY offers a personal look at the four members of BLACKPINK, from their years as trainees to their current global success as the most popular K-pop girl group of all time.
If you know K-pop, then you know Blackpink. You know their songs. You've watched their record-busting music videos, marveled at their slick dance moves, and pored over their cool, stylish outfits.
But Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa are way more than just pop stars. The new documentary Blackpink: Light Up the Sky takes fans behind the scenes, offering a deeply personal and surprisingly intimate look at every aspect of the girls' lives. Whether you're a diehard Blink or a newcomer to the group, you'll come away with a newfound appreciation for the stars who make up Blackpink.
There's no doubt that the members of Blackpink are dynamic performers, talented musicians, and global superstars. However, once the lights go down and the cameras stop rolling, Light Up the Sky makes it clear that they're also pretty normal 20-somethings. When they're off-stage, all four members come across as humble, grateful, and extremely relatable.
The girls react to their problems in a very normal way, too. They goof around on flights, trying to relieve some of the tension. They visit personal trainers, and take solace in simple things, like junk food.
The members of Blackpink may be famous, but when it comes right down to it, they really are just like the rest of us.
Here's the thing, though: As difficult as being on tour is, the four girls fight through it. Yes, they're hurting. Yes, their moods are up and down. Yes, as Light Up the Sky shows, Blackpink's first international tour was hard.
And yet, Blackpink's members never complain. They never talk about giving up. They never give less than 100 percent effort when they're performing, even when it would be easy to phone it in.
This is a recurring theme in Light Up the Sky. Hard work and talent may have made Blackpink world famous, but none of them take their success for granted.
In Light Up the Sky, you get the sense that Blackpink knows how rare this type of fame is.
And so they hustle. As trainees, they gave their all every month to wow YG Entertainment's executive team.
Now, even though the group is already at the top of the pack, they spend long hours in the recording booth, making sure to get each note just right.
Of course, it's a lot easier to get through hard times when you have good friends by your side. Blackpink are lucky that way. They're not just bandmates. Light Up the Sky proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they're very, very good friends. In fact, some of Light Up the Sky's best moments come when the girls are just hanging out cooking, or trying on clothes, or watching videos of their old performances.
That friendship is how Blackpink gets through the hard times.
Ultimately, that bond is what makes Light Up the Sky so powerful. Blackpink gives their all for their music, their performances, and their fans. But at the end of the day, they're entirely devoted to each other. Bonds like that? Those last forever.

People feel the need, and find it easy, to hate on something. Since Blackpink is hated and disliked by the majority of the public, people will find it easy, and think that it’s ok to hate on them since everybody else is hating on them too. Or they’re scared to express their own opinions because they think they’ll be viewed as one of the minorities who like kpop.

Hating others is come down a couple of things. Usually most will hate other people because that people hurt them. Or politicians who lies or made poor regulation. Most people will also hate corruptors, terrorists, sexual offenders etc. Some may hate others cause of different ideology. In entertainment industries are quite strange. Like sports or showbiz. These are the fields when some people hate others who didnt made any impact to their lives or societies. They just shows their talents to made a living but some people still hate them. The story will be different if the artist/atlet made something wrong to others or the societies. But there are people who just hate for "no reason". Actually there is always a reason behind it. Some will hate because the artists/atlets are competitor to their faves. They consider their faves as god. So no one should go above their faves. How can others defeat our dear god. Some will hate cause they are just jealous. Some people will hate cause they had miserable lives. Hating is their way to compensate so they can feel good about their lives. Some people will also hate cause actually they a kind of attract to the subject, but to proud to admit it. So they act like hate them to hid their actual feeling. Those reasons list of hating for "no reason" above are actually kind a sick. They should get some help.

Lisa, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo are so charming, beautiful, funny and such sweet girls. And they are HUMBLE 👑 that is something most people lose on their way to fame. Blackpink IS the revolution ❤️

To be honest I was dragged in because of that Blonde girl in BBHMM and I grew to love their different unique "KPOP" style. And then later on I saw their documentaries/vlogs/shows and fell deeply into them because of their humble personality. They surprise me each year on how they deal with the hate/rumors/antis. They either do that in their music or they give us a show to show everyone (haters) what BS people say and thinks about them. But this documentary literally did it for me. This just shows how they hardworking, and well deserved their fame and popularity is. Well done BlackPink!!

Its so competitive (I can imagine 30+ trainees fighting for those spots damn) yet they helped each other and pulled through together in the end. This is why its the FOUR of them. They’re just kind, pure and humble girls and compliment each other so well! Their friendship is amazing just like a family without blood relations. I’ve always wanted something to sum up why I love these girls so much and this documentary is IT. Its so well done and really showed their journey that not many people have seen before. It really shows why they deserve to be where they are today. WELL DONE NETFLIX ILY💗

The most profound thing from this documentary is the musing of Lisa in the end where she sees the end of their career. Thinking that younger idols will replace them but their true fans will remember the moments they shone brighest. That is some incredible foresight for a popstar who is still on top of the world.

What I love most from this documentary is that how random they started, met and click to form BP. As Jennie mentioned in the documentary, it is hard to place 4 girls in a group, there will be conflict on the role as some may want to be in the middle, sing more etc. but to them, they just click. One of each knows the role they need to do and they respect each one of them. I so love this documentary! It is nicely done. ❤❤❤

THIS DOCUMENTARY IS A MASTERPIECE. It defines all the years of journey that the girls have had, all the hardships, the challenges that they faced either pre-debut, or after they got recognized globally, to be where they are today. It is a package of all those different emotions. I just want to be grateful for BLACKPINK to have been such a huge part of my life. They have helped me during my darkest days and have given me joy in my little life. All the memories, the fun experiences, the laughs, and the tears. They have truly been my inspiration to be better in life and enjoy my life to the fullest. Thank you BLACKPINK. I owe a lot to you. I hope we blinks are always there to protect our girls from any hate or discrimination. I'm sorry I was powerless to save you from all that hate. I hope we blinks always stay united like this and love and support our girls forever. I hope other blinks feel this way too. We are glad that you work so hard to put out great music and quality content just for us blinks despite the hate that you girls get for it. I just want you girls to stay strong, we blinks will always STAY will you no matter what. I wish you girls all the happiness, fame, and success in life. Thank you for everything BLACKPINK. And thank you for this album, thank you for such a wonderful gift. I love you from the bottom of my heart. #BlinksAreTheBestWhenUnited #FOUReverWithBLACKPINK

They always give their all on stage and making albums, their determination is inspiring and i hope that girls get enough time to rest. Not only that, they have each other when needed and that's what "Light Up The Sky" is all about, it shows us their daily lives and their devotion to music. I love BLACKPINK!!!

This documentary just slapped haters so hard. There’s literally no reason to hate BLACKPINK. They’ve done nothing wrong to anyone and they have just grown. The only logical reason haters hate our 4 queens is out of jealousy, because how can you possibly hate someone when they did nothing wrong? It just doesn’t add up. When I mean hate I don’t mean the people who just don’t like BLACKPINK, I mean the people who spread negativity about BLACKPINK for no reason. IT’S OKAY TO NOT LIKE BLACKPINK, but spreading things that aren’t true about them for no reason is just childish and unnecessary. Haters you make no sense and at this point you guys should just leave and focus on your faves because you guys are just embarrassing yourselves 🤦🏽‍♀️😬

Don't get me wrong, I admire BP, and before I watched the doc I still was like 'Yeah they're cool, they're talented and they have nice songs....that's it ig, I like them but I don't like them that much either'. I never really hated on them too, BP is talented and dynamic as heck. This documentary though proves some of my perceptions wrong and all, as I see them more human and less idol-ish, I can see why they're loved so much- humble, kind, hard-working, a superb work ethic, lovable and versatile. While there might be some opinions on their music sometimes, I don't think it matters much. I really really admire ALL of them, and they all teach me a valuable lesson, a different one from each member. Jennie teaches me to stay strong even when the world is harsh at you, to be different and soar even when people try to clip your wings, to fight through all negativity and rise to the top, be the Queen/King you are. Jisoo teaches me that inner beauty is important, and that you will have to slog through and through, work hard, be kind and helpful and be supportive. Rose teaches me to be dynamic and versatile, to love yourself, to keep on giving your best each time, and most importantly, love food (lol). Lisa teaches me to be strong and be grateful, to just work hard and hard even after getting backslash, to keep a smile on your face even when things spiral down. Overall I can say I am a blink now. I didnt like them before that much ( I never hated them though since idk them personally so why even hate?) mainly because some of their songs had a similar vibe (not same, there's a difference) and that the fandom went worse and worse. I still dislike the fandom mostly for their toxic behaviour. I think Blinks can be nice, but the toxic behaviour of any fandom can make a person stay away from the artist sometimes. I'm a multistan but I am not a part of any fandom on purpose, and in a way without thinking about those fanwars and all, I can focus on the artist more and love them more. This is my opinion and perspective. You may agree, you may disagree, but dont go around hating people for it. Not only do you make a fool of your own self, you also make people question your childhood values and morals.

You wrote that really well👏 And as a Blink I've to say something , the fandom is not as toxic as it is described or seen. It's a Hella nice fandom. The toxic fans are just too loud. Other than in any issues or streaming, they don't even participate in any sort of Voting.
