I am a South Korean man and I was a KATUSA soldier, serve my military duty in U.S.Army in Korea. My height is 6 ft and I was a typical skinny Korean 20 y/o man. Compare to U.S soldiers, I never felt that I am a short guy but the body mass... They seems like some other species. And they alway told me 'let's go gym with me', 'You need some muscle', 'I got you man~ I will help you.' So everytime I entered in gym, all american soldiers turn their head to me and smiled like... Like some predators found their yummy meal. I alway surrounded by 3~4 U.S. soldiers and they were all great volunteered trainer. And nearly killed me 💪

our son went in at 32 and pudgy. A year later, slender and ripped. Not all military work out like this. But imagine the tricky places a person could be in, only able to use one arm out in the field? Perhaps carry a wounded soldier with the other. I don't know, never been in the military but some of it is pretty darned impressive.

You have to start out at a little time because I went to an aerobics class one time and I had the worst shin splints ever and when I went to get out of the bed the next morning I fell on the floor it hurt so bad.. dad brought me some aspirin that I requested and I drink a bunch of water and eat yogurt bananas. dad told me to go by some good exercise shoes so I went and bought some aerobic shoes and I went to calista next class for about 3 days because I was still pretty flexible for being a gymnast up until I was about 15.. I was 18 or 19 by this time so I just needed to stretch out and get a little bit of my flexibility back.. thank God even to this day at 54 I'm still very flexible despite arthritis herniated neck and low back and lupus!! My daughter is 32 and flips out when I stretch my back when it hurts and I can take my nose all the way between my legs and touch the floor..😀😀😀 my 32-year-old and 29-year-old can't figure out how I can do it but it's just from years of being in gymnastics... After calisthenics for a couple days I went to a medium level aerobics class rather than beginners and I did that for about a week.. then I took the weekend off and went on to a high impact aerobics and did just fine... We would all sweat like crazy but we were in such a good cardiovascular shape after about 1 weeks that none of us would even be breathing hard after a week or so.. I was going everyday at least 5 days a week and by the time I was doing it about 3 to 4 weeks I would do two in a row.. we did 5 or 10 minutes of warm ups and then 45 to 50. Minutes of high impact aerobics and then we would have a 5-minute cooldown.. after 2 hours of this I would be drenched in sweat but the fan over knee mixing with the AC felt so Good.. all of us in that class were not out of breath at all and it would actually pump us up. I couldn't go to aerobics after 6:00 because if I finish at any time by 8:00 at night I would be up until 1:00 in the morning.. I had to make sure that I was finished with my aerobics by 6:00 at the latest or I would be up most of the night.. the more you exercise and the better shape you're in the more energy you have. . .

Part of standard marine training is carrying your fellow trainees while both of you wear weighted vests. People have to carry wounded soldiers out of battle all the time, and that equipment isn’t light. Unless you’re saying specifically only making contact with the other person via your hand, in which case yeah it’s impossible to take them fully off the ground.

I want to explain this from my perspective. The us soldiers do not look like that going in. It takes years for them to get that way. And only the ones who choose to stay active military. The rest get fat. Or don't exercise enough. Or they just do their regular exercises and no more. The active one know what is required of them and what they use and work on those areas. Even though they are big and muscular they still do cardio and can run fast. When most of our guys go in after high school they are either skin and bones or really far. The years of exercise shape them into that.

It’s true that there are two different types of weight training. You’ve got your gym bros who only care about how much weight they can lift etc and they’ll get the big muscles but they have no stamina. They lift the super heavy weight one or two times and they’re done. People that want endurance which is what would be important in the military will lift a lighter weight a hundred times and the muscles won’t be as big and It doesn’t play as well on insta or whatever but they’re more physically fit.

I scored 285/300 on the APFT on a bad day and usually maxed it at 300+ on the extended scale. I'm still in really good shape and I'm curious to see how I'd score on the new ACFT. At 42, I think I could still come close to maxing it. To be fair, I got out at the end of '09 so it could be much more common now but I doubt it.

Exercise may not make you live much longer than some one that don't exercise, but you will have a healthier body that will carry you through your daily life with ease. I see far to many elder Americans struggle just to stay alive that didn't stay in physical shape. People that don't exercise put a strain on the healthcare system.

Physical strength doesn't win wars. Recently the soldiers of the British Royal Navy were able to force the American forces to submit to a shameful surrender, during a battle that took place between the two, but this did not happen in reality, but during a simulated exercise, called the “Green Dagger”. The British forces were able to eliminate almost the entire units of the American forces during these mock combat exercises, which lasted for five days. And the US forces asked to "reset" the exercise in the middle of it, because of the heavy losses incurred in these war games, according to the Telegraph. The exercise is used to test US Marine units before they are deployed abroad.

I have to say that the soldiers shown doing those incredible exercises with ease most elite soldiers in America's special forces could not do them. I wonder how is their endurance? What else did they do after their video set of exercise? Could they pursue or escape enemy combatants in a sprint for more than several seconds?

  • @ronaldtreitner1460

i'd imagine if they're in that kind of shape their endurance on a run isn't that bad either. however way back when i was in many spent far too much time on just strength exercises and could barely pass a p.t. run because they had no endurance at all.

These are not standard exercises or required fitness goals for most military. Its like 2 mile run situps push ups to show your fit. Maybe like the seal or rangers would need exercises like these but then again it could just be a really bored supply clerk its hard to say who will be a crazy gym bunny 🤣

My ex-husband was in the US Marine corps for 10 years and he was a sergeant by the time he was in 5 years and a corporal the first year.. he went to the gym everyday after work and he would even go on the weekends.. he was a short guy five feet six inches but he was a pretty fast guy for his height.. I could outrun him long distances because I was doing 2 high impact aerobics classes a day.. my physical strength was absolutely nothing compared to him and all the guys at the gym BUT MY 115 LB BODY AND MY ENDURANCE AND MUSCLE MASS COULD FLY FOR HOURS AND JUST RUN AND RUN... THOSE GUYS CAN RUN AND DURING THEIR POTS IN THE MILITARY IN THE MARINES THEY HAVE TO RUN A THREE MILE RUN IN THAN 5 MINUTES OR LESS AND IT'S 7 MINUTES FOR THE GIRLS.. WHEN WE LIVED IN HAWAII AND CALIFORNIA THE GYM ON THE MARINE BASE WERE FULL OF THESE GUYS IN THEIR LIFTING 500 LB BENCH PRESSES. THEY COULD LIFT ME WITH THEIR THUMBS. 😀😀😀

Nutrition is vital in this kind of training. From other videos the n.korean soldiers are fed rice and vegetables so they can't possibly build significant bulk and strength. I don't know what the requirements are but it must be close to 4000 calories and 2-300 400?g of protein. I know my Dr advised me to have 100g a day and I'm certainly no body builder. I'm just trying to not get tendinitis.

have them do the cockroach exercise. lay on back and raise arms and legs 5 inches off the ground and hold. when you need to rest bec arms and legs are burning, raise arms and legs straight up in the air. thei resembles a dying cockroach, hence the name for the exercise. after rested lower arms and legs back down to 6 inches off the ground and hold. repeat till muscle failure. i used this when i was a drill sgt

South Korea need more people like the muscular dude in this video. the way China and Russia are are picking war fights and if war dies brake out with them it puts South Korea at risk as North Korea will have its best chance to take on the the South as they know the USA will not be able to help that much. i dont want to sound nasty but all new generation of men in South Korea use makeup think the military is cute and watch anime. Dont know how much if the population is like that but thats the way South Korea presents itself internationally. Good video..... love from UK

My grandfather told me in Marine boot camp you did not dare swat a mosquito. You'd have 3 drill sergeants screaming in your ear demanding to know who gave you permission to kill a Marine Corps mosquito. Then of course you'd have to give Pvt. Mosquito a proper Marine Corps burial so you'd have to dig a 6by6by6 foot hole, bury him, then for no good fucking reason I can think of, you'd have to dig him back up and God help you if you can't find him. ... and this is how they trim the fat off of you.
