I think one of the best things about King Boo is that his plans are relatively simple, he doesn't have any grand scheme like conquering the world or something, he just wants to be annoying in his small area and scare Luigi when he gets the chance because King Boo absolutely hates him

Technically, in Luigi’s mansion 2 he wanted to take over the world my mind controlling the ghosts but he got so mad over Luigi that he put the universe on the brink of collapsing just to kill him.

Well....to be fair, he DID capture Mario as revenge for their trecks in the Ghost Houses. It's just that Luigi managed to be a surprising thorn in his side. TWICE. By the time of 3, King Boo was so done, he just wanted to end Luigi HOWEVER he could.

The one thing i like about King Boo, more especially how i feel they handled him in Luigi's Mansion 3 SPECIFICALLY is that unlike Bowser, who while i know he hates Mario and would probably do everything in his power to take down Mario once and for all. But, King Boo, he *FUCKING HATES* Luigi. Like, Luigi's Mansion 3 gives off the vibe that King Boo would rather be stuck in a portrait for ETERNITY then rather spend another second in this world with that green plumber. And god, that's what makes it so amazing, there's no "potential partnership" like Mario and Bowser has, King Boo fucking hates Luigi with a ghostly passion.

He did worse in Luigi's Mansion 2 He was about to destroy the universe I believe he is furious towards Luigi because Luigi and E. Gadd turned his friends into paintings in LM1

Finally, someone talks about how King Boo was willing to destroy the universe just to kill Luigi. We need more people taking about this cuz everyone keeps saying dimentio and shit like that are the best when they all needed some very specific item and years of hard work to destroy the universe while king boo literally just opened a portal and the universe was on the brink on collapsing.

Ah yes king boo. Terrifying when I was a kid. I've had so many crazy dreams with him at the centre. He and his franchise are really underrated. I remember watching the mario movie and getting super peeved that his design was wrong

I also think that the Luigi's Mansion version of King Boo looks better than the standard King Boo, but there's a reason he looks different in those respective games. It's the gem. King Boo calls it a "power-enhancing gem," and it makes him stronger (and clearly more crazy). And usually, at the end of the Luigi's Mansion games, the gem is either taken from King Boo or it disintegrates. So he doesn't always have the gem, which is why he looks different.

Yeah that’s probably the reason, however that’s not a good reason for why they keep using the basic design, because Mario games don’t really act on or develop plot points like that, so they could just start using the Luigi’s mansion design and it would be an overall improvement without messing with any story. But yeah that’s the best reason why, only problem is that Mario games don’t like developing plot points so it’s not a very good reason overall when you think about it long enough lmfaooo

Yeah, if it weren't for the fact he can get one out of nowhere the moment he loses it. In Luigi's mansion 1, it's just a cool gem, in 2 it's the power-enhancing gem taken at the end, in 3, it's probably once again nothing but a cool looking gem.

I made a theory about Luigi's Mansion possibly being in distant future of main Mario series, Mario KILLED Bowser PERMANENTLY at last and world is at peace, King Boo found the gem and decided to be a cool king among the boos and have fun by scaring Luigi His friends and himself being turned into painting made him furious, making him a punishing and cruel king among entire species of ghosts And as we saw in Bowser's Minions (Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga 3DS side story), E. Gadd was researching about ghosts which he ends up knowing them like his own body at Luigi's Mansion

Not a bad video, nice job with it. And, yeah I agree, I absolutely adore King Boo, not just my favorite Mario Villain, not just my favorite Mario character, he's one of my fsvorite characters in media and I honestly think he's super underrated and I really want to see more and more of him in future game, especially with his Luigi's Mansion design and such. Also I don’t mind the simplier design, even if I prefer the Luigi's Mansion one.

I know it's not your favorite version, but go replay the merry go round when you unlock Luigi in sm64DS... That laughter is something

Yeah I do agree that superhero movies kinda did ruin the whole “I’m gonna destroy the whole universe” thing, which is kinda sad because it can be really interesting and awesome if the whole story and characters are set up right.

When you first open the main entrance to Treacherous Mansion in Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon/2, I love how King Boo appears right behind Luigi as he turns around; he doesn’t say ANYTHING, he just quietly looks at Luigi’s, stalking him like he’s some kind of serial killer or something.

8:27 (I see there being lore that King Boo when he doesn't have the gem is working on trying to not be scary, or maybe he is trying to hide his true Power from Bowser. What if King Boo uses this form as a way to fake his true form and true power. He has plans to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, and when he is ready, he will betray Bowser and Bowser will not expect it at all. )

King boo best Mario villain I have been looking for an analysis video on him for so long.

Yeah that's why I don't like Nintendo not having consistency with Mario games. "Mario games don't need a story. They don't need to make sense" Yes they do. Nintendo is wasting the potential of most of their Mario characters and the Mario world because they don't want to add any semblance of consistency and characterization to their Mario games. They want these games to be a sanitized as possible. The Mario vs DK remake is proof of that if you compare it to the original which has a lot more expression and personality. These characters and world could be so much more, the Mario and Luigi and Paper Mario (at least the original trilogy) series show that. But Nintendo refuses to do anything with their great cast of characters. Let's hope that the announcement of the TTYD remaster means this is going to change.

@@egeparlak8004 Yeah we've yet to see about that. I don't think they would change just like that. Especially so soon after turning one of the games where Mario is the most expressive he's ever been (Mario vs DK) into an extremely bland, sanitized and easier remake.

Yes! Someone else absolutely pissed about the regular King boo's design. It freaking sucks! It's just boo but with a crown. Goomboss and King Bob-omb are 5 times better than this even though they can already use an amazing design! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?! Also, what made him my favorite Mario character is Luigi's mainsion 2. He only talk to the end and yet he's here in the entirety of the story, stalking Luigi. We see his shadows and crown light in the pictures, we see him and hear his laugh in world 4, he trapps a toad in a painting in face of our eyes by looking at a window in the world 5 first level. But my favorite appearance is when we open the world 5 mansion's door at the second mission. He appears out of nowhere when the poltergust's light passes and Luigi is looking back, the background behind him completely black and his theme playing only to dissapear and make visible the mansion's inside when Luigi look again. And his whole pre-fight sequence is just awesome.

I disagree about King Boo being great in the first game, I actually prefer him being an intimidating threat in Dark Moon over how much of a joke he is in Luigi's Mansion 1. As a bonus, I feel like Luigi's Mansion 3 would have done far better if King Boo actually acted as more of a terrifying and looming threat. Say you had a timer for each floor and King Boo could randomly search the floor you were on, looking for you and you had to quickly find a hiding spot or else it is instant gameover. I mean, they gave us an alternative ending to the game if you failed to get caught by King Boo right at the beginning... so why not go even farther with that idea. Make it so that you never know where he might strike, and always look for a spot to hide.

King boo is an amazing villain, although in my opinion the best villain has to be Antasma, he has everything a Mario boss needs and MORE. His design is incredible, his personality js great but he had arguably some of the best depth in Mario villain history.

Dark Star is underrated

I really like King Boo but I think it’s time for king boo to be retired as the main villain of the Luigi‘s mansion series. By 3 he’s lost all creepiness and Menes he originally had and him putting people into painting is getting really stale. Like it was cool the first time and it was fine in dark moon but now I’m starting to think that’s the only trick He has up his sleeve. Him also getting captured and then released in every game is also getting really stale. 3 had the perfect opportunity to introduce a new main villain with Helen gravely but not only did they barely do anything with her causing her to be nothing but missed potential, They also brought king boo back and barely do anything with him until the end of the game where he has is very easy and anti-climactic final boss fight. It’s the worst of both worlds. His dialogue also feels super off in the third game. If you compare his dialogue in three to his dialogue from the first game and even dark moon, you can clearly see the difference. I think it’s time The series gets a new villain, but I highly doubt Nintendo will ever do that and they’re probably just gonna stick with king boo forever
