    Katts act is usually pretty physical. He uses the entire stage.

  • @ismichi

    @ismichi

    2 ай бұрын

    Yeah, his style is always "big" - while you can work on the wordsmithing better in smaller venues, you can't practice the physical aspects Like, Casey Rockets can barely do his thing in KT. But he's getting to practice on larger stages at the same time, so I'm expecting he'll eventually prefer Arenas and similarly large venues as his fandom and experience grows, on top of the budgeting for props. There will be a day I can't imagine the fans preferring him on a small stage, just as I can't for Katt

    The fact that Joe's channel is so much bigger than Club Shay Shay, yet Katt's interview did so much better there than on Joe's speaks volumes to the cultural divide. Run through these comments and notice how much hate there is toward Katt. I don't typically see that in h the comments for Joe's guests. Joe's audience is clearly very different culturally. That's probably why it took so long for Katt to get on Joe's show and why Katt wasn't nearly as comfortable as he was on Club Shay Shay. He's smarter than people realize and is well aware of where he'll be received well. He's done his market research for years before he started selling out arenas, hence why he only does arenas. He's mastered his craft while most of these barely funny comedians have to do a lot of practicing. Many arena acts don't do small clubs, but for some reason, it's an issue that Katt chooses not to. I think there are other subconscious or underlying reasons for people's bias.

    Katt Williams most likely didn't want to because his crowd/fans do not overlap with Joe Rogan's and Kill Tony's crowd, and there is nothing wrong with that. Donnell Rawlings tanked on Kill Tony bad, Katt probably didn't want to go near it. Katt was talking shit about Joe Rogan and the comedians he is closer to and has on regularly saying they are not funny and Joe is propping them up. It honestly sounded petty and jealous regardless of the other comedians. Joe was the bigger man and after Katt was talking sh*t Joe said on the show he would love to have Katt on (and ignored the insults), which is what led to Katt being on JRE. I personally don't care for Katt but I know alot of people like him. You don't have to like every comedian. The world will keep spinning.

    Katt Williams lost his quick wit imo. He’s the Joe Biden of comedy.

    The thing at the end is true about playing to smaller crowds. When you play to a small room where you can see everyones face, it's a little uncomfortable.

    Kat stopped doing little shows a long time ago. If you have a standard for what you want to produce, you'd never do less.

    I mean, there's an argument there but also it's completely pretentious. There are far bigger comedians than Katt who do these clubs and other shows because of the love for the craft, not the love for the big crowd. Nothing to do with "standards", he's just probably scared.... plus he hasn't put out any quality production since Pimp Chronicles 🤣

    @@lilkujo You dont understand what standards are. I'm sure you have a standard of how much food you take in, if you cared a lot about what you are doing with your body, you'd have a standard of intake. This is same for anyone who has a large passion for what they do. Most people don't know that Kat does his own shows. He doesn't use management or other people to make what he wants. He does it. So its a standard of his to do his best, on his own, to make a full on show. Not just a little skit show or use old material. I just understand his standard, I do the same for my art.

    @@xPhenso then why isn't he funny anymore? His own standard is above his ability? He just isn't an arena act anymore. The guy is acting like Prince and he's not even famous outside America. Its ego. Even weirdly-specific redefinitions of the term 'standard' aren't enough to excuse it lol.

    I mean most stand up comedians actually enjoy a more intimate side to their craft.. it's cool if others don't, but it isn't a standards thing. Even Chappelle does smaller rooms sometimes-- it's odd being the opposite, not a matter of money..it's a matter of someone enjoying what they do.

    It's just personal preference. Some comics prefer more intimate venues and some want to play arenas and stadiums, whether it's just for the money or partly because they just enjoy a massive crowd.
