He played it smart and pivoted to something far more profitable than music which is clothes. Really streaming services have garbage pay and you have to constantly work or sign slave contract deals to see any payments. A clothing brand while arguably harder to manage can be way more lucrative if you have the right people in your corner. Really though music doesn’t make as much money as people think it does lmao lmao. Streaming pay is so bad and you’re basically paid 9 cents of a dollar for streaming revenue so really you have to make a lot of plays to make even a bit. Not saying he doesn’t it’s just even with a million plays that’s what a couple thousand? Which is something but lol that goes sooooo fast even if you’re living a modest life. So honestly I get why people beg him to drop because I get it he’s good at rapping but it’s obvious clothing makes way more money lol at this point he’d only rap for fun. Which is arguably a better way to approach it rather than feeling indebted to make music to survive. He actually is smarter than people give credit for because he created a large financial net for himself which a lot of the new gen artists are not doing. Not saying he’s like a financial guru lol but he’s surely making a lot more than most of his peers. Not to pocket watch though idc about other people’s pockets but if we are gonna go there I mean it’s obvious from a purely surface level.
