Merciful God, forgive me for my shortcomings and mistakes. Help me to forgive those who have wronged me and to let go of bitterness and resentment. Grant me the grace to reconcile with others and to walk in the freedom of your forgiveness.

The Eucharistic doctrine is not a metaphor as suggested by the commentator and there is nothing in this discourse that would suggest it's a metaphor. The true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist was taught by the apostles to their own disciples and was taught down throughout the centuries. This is a biblical and historical truth.

It has to be a metaphor because we aren’t saved by works but by faith alone Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Ephesians 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

@@WHATSUP7049 Ephesians never uses the word "alone" when speaking on faith. In the gospels, Jesus ties eternal life on at least 4 things: 1) Baptism - John 3:5 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 2) Faith - John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 3) To do the will of God - Mathew 7:21 - Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 4) Eucharist John 6:54 - Whosoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. So we find in the gospels that Jesus' very words that salvation is not by faith alone.
