I bought the 2022 Pathfinder Platinum 4WD fully equipped. I investigated others in high end SUVs. My preference is for the Pathfinder for many reasons. I like how the computer system works, and how it performs. I have had other SUVs over the decades. This Pathfinder is the best SUV I've owned and driven. It has been very reliable with zero faults from the day I took out from the dealer. I took it with the pearl white and black roof line. The interior is the chestnut colour. In the winter months I am using deep threaded mud/snow off road type tires on 18 inch rims mounted on their own alloy wheels.

Glad yo hear you like it. That is the color combo I am looking at...or the gun metal gray with black roof line. I like the chestnut interior...looks high end. Not sure my husband wants to get top trim level, but it doesn't seem like too much difference to me than SL with various packages added on. I want ventilated seats.

I have the 2023 SL too with the premium package. At 900 miles I did have a massive total electronics and dash failure. After about 30 restarts if got it working and I drove home over 2 hours with just the check engine light on. Just before I got home the light went out. Took it to the dealer and they found nothing. Guess it took care of itself. I just hit 6,000 miles with no more problems. I have towed a 5,800-pound travel trailer with no problems. Got 12.5 mpg. I do love most everything about it.

alexis I went and looked at a limited 4runner today with 3rd row but it sucks for trying to fit an adult back there smh. So Looking at some other smaller suv's they are designed with more headroom like this nissan and the jeep , durango too. I think with Jeep it might be too many problems down the road even with a new one and how pricey needingto do things at the dealer with things being hard to get to on your own to fix. The durango is doable also so it might be between the durango v8 and the nissan with reliablity being at the top of the list but I also like the stereo system that the durango offers in some as the 19 spkr with sub and amp harmon kardon system

They’re selling well, I see some on the road, but not as well as expected, the lots are overloaded with them. The competition is very tough in this class. The Kia Telluride for one and the Mazda CX-9. In this economic climate today consumers are focusing more on practicality, durability, build quality, warranty value, resale value, reputation, fuel, style. Nissan needs to do a bit better with interior build quality and structural rigidity. Until then the Pathfinder feels like a Ford Explorer.🤔🤷🏼🙄

Overall, the exterior is a pleasant if not exciting design. Unlike your preferences, I am not a fan of totally blacking out everything. A bit of brightwork tastefully done is a good thing to provide individuality and distinction, otherwise your just sitting in a moving storage box. The flush bumpers are just wrong. One, they give no flair to the styling and two, they provide no protection to the very pricy and expensive bodywork along with the really expensive sensor kit and safety tech behind them. They need to protrude a bit more so they can actually take more than just a bug impact bump without including all the rest of the front or rear bodywork in the same minor impact. A gap and a bit of distance does matter here. Overall, I like the interior quite a bit. It looks good and like a present place to be.

I love the chrome look on the Platinum. Actually it needs more chrome under the doors and more on both bumpers and I did pay extra to add the chrome look on the fog lights. The black out trim dulls cars and makes them look less expensive and plain. Love where the Chrome Pathfinder name is high up on the trunk door. Hate they only have black running boards, prefer chrome. Love my Platinum Pathfinder, Red with Black roof. Hate that their is no CD player, what... and hate that that the engine cuts off at every stop, very scary...I kill that button as soon as I hit Drive😊Otherwise my 2024 2 tone red and black Platinum Pathfinder is beautiful and it drives great!

New vehicle sales are at more than a decade low plus interest rates have been rising. Also, this is a relatively new design so there probably isn’t a big used car availability for these yet. Some industries are experiencing layoffs too (intentionally spurred on by fed moves as an inflation fighting tool), so just bad timing in general is effecting sales. The vehicle itself is a pretty nice package though, I think it looks good. I hate that plastic fender cladding though, it should be body colored (at least as an option).

The lack of a light interior is a deal killer for me. I don't want a black, charcoal or terra cotta interior. They really should consider either a beige or ivory option. Something akin to what the Highlander and Acura MDX offer. I really like the exterior styling of the Pathfinder along with the ride quality and size but I live in a really hot climate and I refuse to have a dark interior again.

@@Moistnmeaty90 I am glad someone agrees because its lonely not liking black interiors LOL. There are so many now because they are cheap and people just buy them because often times there is no option. I had a convertible once and hopped in it and got blisters on the back of my legs and had to hop out yelling. Maybe that is also why I am solid against them. I have one thing to add. In a super hot climate where I live it is also super nice to have cloth seats. Yes for some people they think this means they are cheap or substandard but todays cloth seats in cars are very durable, stylish and very comfortable. And much cooler when you hop into a 115 degree car interior.

@@guidedmeditation2396 I agree. I’m an automotive consultant for sales and marketing. One of the issues I see constantly is dealers have some inexperienced mid-level manager in charge of inventory. They are told to order the top 5. Black, white, silver, gray, and red. In that order. Every time it’s ordered with a black interior. I see this at 90% or the dealers I visit. This started about 2010 give or take a few years. Before this, dealers were owned primarily by local, independent owners, not massive corporations. The local, independent owners took pride in their business and ordered what sold locally. This was a wide variety of colors and interiors. In the South, where I am located, black interiors are widely considered to be unappealing in the hot climate here. Now, you can’t find a dealer within a 250 mile radius that has a light colored interior with a non-top five exterior color.

Personally, I’m looking for an SL with the bench seat 2nd row, which low and behold, are pretty popular. Maybe the fact that they’re about 5K less than the Platinums is one big reason. Speaking of that Premium package, they force the captain’s chairs on you if you want the Bose Infotainment system (I have it in my 2019 Altima and LOVE it). It makes no sense as to why I can’t choose the Infotainment system alone.
