    This is pretty normal in Tonga! If you're walking around & people are eating inside their homes and they see you they'll call you over for dinner - on Sundays they also give food to their neighbours, sharing is a pretty big thing in Tonga!

    not gorgia turner , if I understood what you're saying , I could respond . The point being Western societies are mostly tolerant of anyone being with faith or without. You can even start your own faith if others wish to join you . Each needs to respect that the other also exists and has a right to their way of life. Too many people can't see life from anybody elses shoes but their own .

It'a different all over though but where I live that's how it is. It's quite refreshing but can sometimes get to be a pain. Great video! Thank you for showing us about Tonga on Sundays

    You can apply like any other Country. Warning: Its hard to be come citizen in Tonga.

  • @Yamezzzz

    @Yamezzzz

    3 жыл бұрын

    You do realise if you aren't from a country, to get citizenship in a country, it's a very long and committed process, and often impossible. You need to live in Tonga for 15 years and renounce your previous citizenship (to show commitment), to become a Tongan citizen. Basically, you need to become Tongan de facto before you can become Tongan de jure. That's the same with pretty much every country, including your own probably. You can't just show up. Tourist visas might be easy to get but to get the right to LIVE there and work is already very difficult and rare, and you have to do that for a very long time before you can even think about citizenship. I guess you should be asking: How can I get a visa to LIVE in Tonga? That comes down to you skills, if someone in Tonga has a job offer and is willing to sponsor you or if you have family there. It's also very difficult to get someone willing to give you a job there when you're foreign and don't have any pre-existing legal rights to be there. but that's your best chance.

    It’s a law in Tonga to keep the sabbath day holy. It’s what makes Tonga significant from any other part of the world cause it’s the entire country. It may not work in other countries but it does in Tonga. It’s our favorite day of the week! As a Tongan and growing up in Tonga, we are grateful for this day of rest. Back then we would go to church come home, exchange food that we cooked that day then we eat. Exchanging food was a tradition which was good cause instead of having one entree you may have one or two more entrees that you did not make that day. Then we rest for those that want to rest. For us kids it was a time to visit family and friends. That was the activity every Sunday was visiting people or you can just stay home but we loved walking the streets and villages to socialize. Tonga was very safe, you never had to worry bout where your kids were back then. Mind you, there was no phones to call your neighbors or family to find out where your kids are at. It’s what everybody did. It was something we looked forward to doing, it was so much fun!! We didn’t have tv’s or electronics but we knew all our neighbors and people in the surrounding villages. When we moved to the United States we stayed true to what we knew. We kept the sabbath day holy. We went to church, shared our food with our neighbors, rested then visited family and friends. In sharing our tradition with our neighbors, we got so close with them, we became family even now 50+ years later.
