Sanity won- the book ban has been reversed

This type of censorship is the thin edge of the American fascist approach to censorship the book is available in Australia ie not censored and should be available. It sounds like a good book for young people who are part of these types of families helping them understanding their place in our society is the same as the rest of us.

Are we in Texas or Australia ? Will there will be abortion bans Desantos style too?

Have reservations about the Woke/Alphabet indoctrination happening in all levels education but I am against any censorship as a matter of a free speech right especially in the light of the current Marxist/Labor government's use of laws to undermine this cornerstone right in Australia.

teaching empathy and understanding towards others that are different to you isn't indoctrination. You can't indoctrinate people into being a different sexuality or gender than they actually are - but you can create a world where people that are different don't feel ostracized for who they are. Bigotry usually comes from people being ignorant of things that are different to what they are used to.

The government is not Marxist, Marxism is an economic theory where the workers who work for companies also get to own part of the businesses/ get profits from the products they make

@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie My main objection with the Woke/Alphabet agenda is their insistence that the world is divided into two classes. Those that are victims and those that victimise and noncompliance to this black and white version of society will be met, surprise, surprise by bigotry which ''usually comes from people being ignorant of things that are different to what they are used to''.

@@vt2816 I believe the Labor government at heart is Marxist in the sense that throughout its history and through its manifestos has believed the means of production should be owned, operated and all profits should be equally shared by the workers so that the true value of their labor is not alienated by the entrepreneur diminishing that worth. This of course is all very well, up to a point, if all you are producing are products already in existence. Marx doesn't appear to consider the special skills of the entrepreneur needed to create new products and means of production outside perhaps the hive mind of the proletariat as the USSR and pre ''capitalist'' China discovered and attempted to rectified by some controlled capitalism which on the surface reeks of National Socialism, sans the gas.

People who are knowledgeable on the topics of gender and identity don't need to resort to buzzwords like "woke" to support their side. It's very much a facts vs feelings situation. With one side proportionally using their 'beleifs' to arbitrarily come up with value judgements with no substantiated evidence to support it. Meanwhile, the scientific consensus has been clear for years, and only disingenuous bad faith actors are representing information poorly. Like christian hate has come out and you see a lot of comments like. "poor child wont have a mum/dad" , etc. They completely ignore the empirical evidence we have that show outcomes are either the same OR better for children with same-sex parents then those with heterosexual parents. It's very worrying we spend so much time wasting on trying to discriminate minorities that don't demonstrably harm our society, and are measurably a positive in our communities. And we have so much bigger issues harming our society that have gone unchecked for decades. Wealth disparity has been trending worse since the 1950s in our country. But we continually vote for people who want to give more concessions and handouts to industries year after year, and policies that only benefit the already established older generations. Collectively people have decided that future generations are less important then maintaining the comfort of a select few.

Isn't censoring gay parenting books top of the far right "woke" list? Let's be open minded and allow others to live their own lives. Not making people miserable to suit RW "woke" agendas.

So, same-sodomite marriage should be taught to children?
