Why is there a Twilight Theme Park?
Ойын-сауық
Hold on tight, Spider Monkey.
Ever wondered what a Twilight Saga theme park land would look like? You’re in luck- one opened up in 2019 in China and ever since I’ve been obsessed. Let me take you on an unnecessary deep dive into why it was built, what it entails, and an analysis of the different rides included.

Best way to adapt twilight is make one of those Japanese rent a boyfriend/girlfriend caffes, You get a lookalike of either Jacob or Edward to basically just hang around with you while on a tour of a recreation of the school and town, with scripted events like a staged figth where they "save" you
@phoenixfritzinger9185

That would also be a good way to get a restaurant into twilight land, like I distinctly recall from the books that Bella went to an Italian place in Forks several times over the course of the books

I expected a Twilight ride at a small theme park to be a refurbished merry go round with wolves and vampires instead of horses, but these rides are top notch

Twilight seems hard to themeparkify because the setting itself, the town of Forks, is not really that whimsical, though i'd love to expeirence the first Twilight movie's iconic blue filter irl
@MikeFromTheParty

I think it's helpful that it's in China. Seeing a small Midwestern American town is probably more interesting there. Kinda like how there's Chinatown in LA and New York New York in Las Vegas. Considering how those places operate I think an authentic US diner with American memorabilia on the walls just selling burgers and dinner food would have worked well honestly. As a themed dining experience. Maybe they could have like an audio of English background chatter and they could dress up the waiters in those old dining waitress costumes. The ones with the colored striped dresses with the aprons, poofy short sleeves, and that curly blowout perm that was popular in like the 80s but a bit more toned down to stay true to the time period.

@@painttedHyena1974it extremely typical. I live in WA and went there once during my Twilight phase as a young preteen. Very small, not much if anything to actually do besides driving to Port Angeles or going back to Seattle by ferry.
I was actually interning at an experience design company when we were planning a pitch for this park. I think we were leaning more towards a dueling ride where you pick a side, werewolves or vampires, and then battle the other team. My idea was a high speed slot car test-track style ride through Volterra Italy from new moon, where you race to stop edward from revealing himself as a vampire, and would come face to face with the Volturi. Ah well, bellas journey is fine I guess.

If you ever see me at a party, we can talk all things Twilight 🧛♂️
The question of why I think is because very little happens in the grand scheme of things in Twilight. It's also a very small scope, Bella's POV. I will say, I think in the world of fandom, social media, and cosplay, I full scale recreation of the town and certain scenes for photo ops and just vibes sounds like a pretty neat idea, if a bit niche. Midnight Ride looks pretty sick, I gotta say. A shame it couldn't have been more of a psychological journey since Bella's adrenaline junkie coping was one of the few times she displayed an interesting character trait that could also be considered *gasp* a thoughtful flaw. Side note, I am *fascinated* by the concept of a vertical theme park. Like, with a huge budget, I think it could be really cool, especially if it's not necessarily tied to multiple ips or instead, an original concept.

Admittedly, I feel like if this was built in the states I'd probably go with my friend who's obsessed with Twilight only because I'm a theme park/attraction fan. I wouldn't be able to do the Midnight Ride attraction though because of the fact I can't really do VR due to not being able to wear contacts and thus can't see if my glasses are off. Because of how the goggles are usually built, I can't just put them over my glasses. Though it is interesting to see how VR will affect theme park and entertainment attractions in the future, it's just not something I myself can experience because of unique medical reasons.

And at first when I heard this concept as like that's weird I could never see a Twilight theme park after this video now I see. I don't know if attractions are that important. However settings are. Like you said the romantic theme works for it , date crowd is definitely appealing. If they would have added wedding venues it would appeal to even more adults. So a Twilight theme park in order for to work needs to appeal to dating crowd 16 to 30 and the marriage age group 18+. I would have love for them to recreate the wedding. The meadow. And of course I love the gazebo. These would be great to recreate. Good photo ops. Like it would really work for wedding proposals too. I would have loved to seen American diner and some shops like the book shop. If remember correctly book shop is in the book but I believe she goes into bc it's one of alternative book shops, it's the kind that would sell healing crystals. I would have also like to seen a clothing shop I even have a name for it Alice's closet. Alice was always so fashionable. Native American store that sells handmade crafts from tribes in twilight. The cottage that Edward, Bella and Renesmee live in. A night stay. Other bonus settings outside of forks would be Volterra, Italy maybe an Italian restaurant. The honeymoon isle of Esme setting great for night stay. Maybe a Brazilian restaurant as well.

I wasn't looking for this information but I'm so glad it came to me
Honestly I think this might be the solution to the dying malls thing, people don’t want to go to the mall anymore so why don’t we build indoor theme parks that people can go to any weekend. I’d definitely ride the Twilight ride once a month
So glad this was recommend to me, I love theme park history and never heard of this until today!

Thank you so much!!
I think Forks does have a bookstore. In the books Bella mentions going to port angeles because she needed to go to a speciality book store to get the vampire book.

This is my fault for not actually reading the books and just taking the opinions of the Tumblr Twihards I was following as fact! My apologies to the designers of the Twilight Theme Park land
GREAT video, I’m shocked that you don’t have more subscribers. Hoping for a video about the Saw ride from you soon!

Thank you! Saw video is on the way soon...
We were cheated by the wheel. It brought us here, where we were forced to watch this. Never before have I felt such betrayal.
you might think a virtual group kiss with Robert Pattinson is uncomfortable, i consider it a plane ticket to china
Just subscribed, I really loved this video! In particular, your insight into the aspirational element that we adapt into attractions really sat with me. If that feeling is captured successfully- THAT'S when magic happens. Really really cool stuff.

I'm really glad you like that idea! It's something I've been thinking about for a while (and probably something I'll be circling back to in future)

@@MikeFromTheParty Can't wait to see what you come up with! I work in the industry and I feel like we really lose sight of this concept sometimes. I'm gonna start pinning it to the board in every meeting and hope for the best, haha!
How is this only your 3rd video on your channel! LOVE
So interesting to hear about the system for the vr!! When I was in universal Japan they had a similar system on the Mario kart ride where your vr connects to something you put on beforehand, so the award was clearly justified!
now we need a spoof of the park built around Vampires Suck, the parody of Twilight lmao. Please take my sub #300
