Why is Strength Training for Cyclists So Misunderstood?

Its confusing...
Should I be mimicking the movements I’m doing on the bike to strengthen them?
If I ride everyday, is there a point to training my legs?
Should I stop training when I’m in race season?
Am I too old to train?
How will this benefit me as a casual rider, a climber, a sprinter, a time trialist?
Isn’t this just for the pros?
I am sorry, I am not going to answer all these questions now. But I will in the future. For today, we chat about the importance of upper body, core, and understanding the difference between muscle and fat for our power to weight ratio.
