In today's video, I will be traveling to Panama City, Panama. Panama City, the capital of Panama, is a modern city framed by the Pacific Ocean and the man-made Panama Canal. Casco Viejo, its cobblestoned historic center, is famed for colonial-era landmarks like the neoclassical Palacio Presidencial and bougainvillea-filled plazas lined with cafes and bars. The Miraflores Locks offer views of ships traversing the canal, an essential shipping route linking the Atlantic and Pacific.
Today, we will explore The Panama Canal, Amador Causeway, Mercado de Mariscos, and Cinta Costera. The Panama Canal is an artificial 82 km waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean, cutting across the Isthmus of Panama and is a conduit for maritime trade. The Canal shortens the distance that ships need to travel by 3 weeks or over 8,000 miles. Over a million ships have crossed the canal and roughly 40 pass through a day.
